Weekend in spring Odessa - without Deribasovskaya and by tram!
Standard sightseeing route in Odessa - Duke, Potemkin Stairs, Opera House, Deribasovskaya. Odessans jokingly called this route "From the Duke to the hatch" (who was in Odessa will understand J). We went, we know, we want something new. What to do on weekends for a visitor to Odessa? The delivery is not the same, it’s too early to swim in the sea, a trip of 7 kilometers is hard fitness.
We decided to look at Odessa a little differently. I planned the walks as sparing as possible (my mother is an aged lady, long-distance crossings are, alas, in the past). The main criteria were: novelty of impressions, ease of getting to the place by municipal transport, a minimum of descents and ascents (Fontana stations were mercilessly crossed out, although it is very beautiful there), and a maximum of benches and places of rest.
To develop routes, I rummaged through Wikimapia and Yakdex a map of Odessa with panoramas. The site https://www. eway. in. ua/ru/cities/odesa/routes a> - transport routes with stops on the map.
1. Boat trip. (Morvokzal. Buses 146 or 210, or take the funicular down from Primorsky Boulevard).
At the seaport, the struggle for a client begins right on the bridge. Barkers sell tickets for a one-hour walk, escalating the situation - "in 5-10 minutes, but it's you who will have time, I'll warn you. " A lathered tourist rushes with a purchased ticket four hundred meters along the mercilessly heated tiles to the pier, along the way other distributors try to intercept him. You can go down the stairs to the pier next to the church. To shorten the path, you can go down through the hotel parking.
Older boats - "Yogogama" and "Valencia" - 100 hryvnia each, double-deck, with wooden benches. There are blankets (this is important for the spring sea). There is probably a schedule, but I could not find it either on the website of the seaport or on the tourist sites of Odessa. The interval is about 30-40 minutes, so everyone will have time.
Younger boats - from a competing company. Two-deck "Cruise" with a Kiev postscript. Also 100 hryvnia, the seats are like in a cinema. High-speed single-deck orange "Legend" - 150 hryvnia. Waste - by filling. We sat on the dock with ice cream and watched with interest the “filling process”. A girl with a megaphone, crying out about "the boat leaves in 10 minutes", after about twenty minutes she lost her way and began to clarify with the passengers who were patiently waiting for the boat to be filled - how many minutes did she promise for the last time? "Legend" left after 40 minutes...
"Yokohama" under the tape recording of the excursion left the port, reached Arcadia and turned back. Oh, well, why don't boats enter Arcadia! It would be convenient for both tourists and travel agencies! A wonderful boat trip, a fresh breeze, and at the same time - the opportunity to move to the center of a glamorous party holiday - Arcadia.
2. Arcadia. ( 5 trams, 5 trolleybuses, 168 and 198 buses).
Odessans still scold the new look of the main Odessa beach. It is really not easy to get to the sea - restaurants and closed club complexes have blocked both the view and the water. But slowly and idly flanking around Arcadia became very convenient. - very clean, fountains, many coffee shops and ice cream parlors, restaurants and souvenir shops.
I won’t say anything about the open-air water park - it exists, but it doesn’t work in the spring. Children and adults squeal on the rides in the Luna Park. Younger people actively use the opportunity to rent bicycles, speedways and quadrocopters. Wi-fi - yes! There are plenty of benches and other opportunities to sit down and relax. In the evening, every 15 minutes, people admire the light and music fountain. In general, you can spend three or four hours with pleasure!
3. Shevchenko park. Ferris wheel. (Tram 28).
We drove to the park in order to survey Odessa from the height of the highest Ferris wheel in Ukraine. The issue price is 100 hryvnia for three unhurried laps. What can I say - the panorama of Odessa with its sea, skyscrapers, parks, cathedrals and stadiums is magnificent!
Next to the wheel is a large moon park with a bunch of rides. Very beautiful antique carousel, excellent rope park.
Spring parks in Odessa are a separate topic! Well-groomed, clean, comfortable, with children's and sports grounds and plenty of mothers with prams and grandmothers with dogs. (In two days we still managed to walk around the lake with a tall fountain in Victory Park, so we studied the parks thoroughly). Along the paths of Shevchenko Park, we slowly reached the Stele of Glory and quietly went down to the Lanzheron beach.
4. Langeron. (We are on foot).
We have been to the Dolphinarium many times, but how everything around has changed! The embankment near the Nemo Dolphinarium has changed fabulously! The wooden flooring by the sea reminds the "non-departed" Odessans of Brighton Beach. Twelve fountains on the square are a great idea for a hot summer! The discreet gray-white gamma of the embankment is enlivened by palm trees and flowers, and the sea and sky serve as an ingenious backdrop! I really liked the large playground under the pine trees just above the dolphinarium. Nearby is the starting point of electric vehicles to Arcadia.
5. Path of health. 7 kilometers by electric car to Arcadia.
* Tourists and younger Odessans walk along the Trail with their children, jog, and ride bicycles (there is a rental). We took a ride on an electric car for 60 UAH. to Arcadia. Entry for other vehicles to the trail is strictly closed. The road is asphalted and partially tiled, there are many benches, there are public toilets. The trail without sharp descents and ascents, runs along the sea past Otrada beach with a cable car, Dolphin beach, border beach, you can climb French Boulevard. You can go down to the sea almost everywhere. Lots of lively sports and playgrounds. In general, the place for spring holidays is the most suitable!
This is how the weekend in spring Odessa turned out. Bought a card. We will develop new routes!
