Again I had to visit Kharkov. This time the choice fell on the Express Hotel. The 14-storey hotel is located in the railway complex. station. We planned to leave at 4 o'clock in the morning by train, so this option of settlement is very convenient. Unfortunately, this is the only advantage of the hotel.
The rooms are very hot. You won’t get any relief by opening the window - it’s very noisy both day and night. On the one hand, the station square, on the other, the busy highway Poltava Way and, of course, the railway. Rooms with shabby wallpaper and traces of drips. Shower and toilet for three rooms one (promised for two). The room was not cleaned during the day, there is no elementary trash can. In the common corridor there is a small bucket "miracle with a pedal" for three rooms - the garbage is naturally next to the bucket, it's good if it's in a bag. From the "toilet shower" a fetid sewer smell spreads through the rooms.
Hotel workers said that there were vacant rooms for all 18 years of the hotel's existence, but upon arrival at 5 in the morning they stood until 6-15 until the tenants began to move out after the opening of the metro. In general, if you spend the night or “change before the train leaves, ” then I recommend it, but if you live, it’s not the best choice and not exactly cheap. In reality, the cost of such a room should be two times lower.
