Hakuna Matata. Part 12. In nirvana. Chuini
Continuation. Start here >>>
11 days. March 10
While my husband sleeps, I survey the territory. How I like it here! This is exactly what I always look for and expect from a vacation. Complete relaxation.
Next to the restaurant there is a large lounge area with four-poster beds. There are armchairs, a table, bookshelves in the form of boats.
Somewhere around seven I start to terrorize my husband)
How I asked him to go to the beach with me! And he is in no way:
– I'm sick, don't you see? Yesterday the temperature was 37 and 2. No smell, no taste, I'll infect everyone there.
- Whom all? Have you seen anyone here?
- I didn't see it, I didn't go out anywhere.
- So go out, you won't see anyone anyway! There are no people! You can leave when you want.
Breakfast here is wonderful! This is not a bundy in Aya Beach, and not a lonely (but tasty! )) pancake in Hakuna Matata, and not a plate of fixed mini-meal in Miramonte. It's a BREAKFAST! ) You open the lids, inhale the smell, consider the options. . . But you choose the same thing that you had breakfast in other hotels).
Scrambled eggs are made to order.
Tea, coffee, water - unlimited throughout the day.
What is the most important thing in breakfasts?
The most important thing is the view! Of course, this is not the view in Aya Beach, also nice.
And only when we had breakfast all alone (the boys from the neighboring hotel had breakfast at their hotel)), only then did he allow himself to go to the beach. And there is nobody! There are no vacationers at all! An invisible bartender somewhere behind the bar is quietly dozing, while a worker is digging a small hole for some kind of hose.
Only us and the sea. And the shade is so thick. And the breeze is so refreshing. And the sea is so blue! And mangroves waist deep in water! And all this is just for us!
The whole day we are nowhere. We lie and we lie.
If there is a paradise in the world, then it is in the Mangrove Lodge Hotel.
When the water began to rise, I rushed into the sea. And the husband without slippers! And the stones have not yet been covered well, only a little. I say - I'll bring you slippers. He mumbled that he was tired and hot, and went to sleep in the room. So I didn't bathe.
But the whole day we flopped in the pool. When you are just the two of you in paradise, it's very cool! Private beach)
There, a worker showed us a baobab tree. Well… a tree is like a tree. In the pictures, the baobabs are somehow round and barrel-shaped, and this tree is thin and with thin branches. Apparently they are different.
It is best to swim in the sea when the mangroves are up to their necks in the water. But just the heat comes and does not allow to be in the water for a long time.
I climb into the shade and try to relax alone, but without my husband I get bored (well, alone on the whole beach).
I make my way to some abandoned place near our hotel.
At first I thought that this was also the ruins of a castle, but then it became clear that this was an abandoned hotel.
A little creepy.
But atmospheric)
Seeing my husband - "Do you want to go with me? " - I change clothes and go to the neighboring hotel Chuini Zanzibar Beach Lodge to see the ruins of the palace of Sultan Bargash ibn Said and his follower Ali ibn Said. In 1914, the palace, like many other things in the area, was destroyed by fire.
The photo shows that the buildings of the palace, or rather its remains, are located on different sides of the bay. I still think that this bay appeared here as a result of some kind of cataclysm.
(Photo from internet)
There is no water in the bay now. The boats stood still, waiting for the tide. I cross the bridge, thinking, where are the guests of this expensive hotel, relaxing on the beach. Where is the beach here?
A high staircase leads to the hotel. In front of her, the guard calls out to me, they say, where are you going, I show him the name of the hotel. Since I don’t understand him (sometimes it’s very convenient), I continue on my way, and he follows me. Upstairs, we are met by another person, obviously the boss, who is also trying to get what I need. I write in the translator that I want to see the remains of the palace. He lets me look, but he follows me everywhere. The hotel is not cheap, you won’t let anyone go to chance)
There is not much left of the castle and it is not ruins. A very well preserved tower.
And next to it, the wall does not look like ruins. The wall is beautifully whitewashed, either for beauty, or in the original it was white) I ask the guard if this is old or a remake.
He says - the original wall, it doesn't get older)
It doesn't look like the 18th century)
There is a sunset on the way back.
Not God knows what, but pretty)
We both had dinner with dessert) The husband decided that Dolce Vita should be in everything today)
But this time the dessert was strange - a couple of tasteless dough balls and condensed milk in a small plate.
Then I dragged my husband down to the lounge area (there are several lounge areas in the hotel) and we hung on our phones there.
And then in the room, not only was there no Wi-Fi, but also almost no mobile Internet. And we are just negotiating with the distributor. The fact is that even from home we ordered a car for only 12 days, so as not to suffer in Stone Town with parking. Everything is close by so you don't need a car. I think it's cheaper to take a taxi to the airport than to pay one more day for a car. But the test made adjustments. We need to call in for the test, and it’s better to pick it up in the morning, because lunch is at the hospital until two, and at three we need to be at the airport. Any delay will not leave us a chance.
The rental company resists for a long time in terms of paying for an extra day. We want it for free, because we lost on gasoline, but the distributor wants it for the full price, and he can also be understood. Agree, in the end, for 15 dollars.
When everything is decided, the husband goes to his house. I also don’t sit for a long time, I simply don’t save from mosquitoes.
What a pity that the vacation is almost over. Tomorrow we move to Stone Town.
