Is Istanbul better from Bulgaria or from Turkey?
Actually, subject.
Is it better to travel to Istanbul from one of the Turkish resorts or from the resort towns of Bulgaria, which are located near the Bulgarian-Turkish border? Better - that is, the tour is cheaper, longer, the road is not so tiring, and the guide is more than a guide))))))

I don’t know how from Bulgaria, but from Antalya (today I found out) the cost of a one-way ticket per passenger is 120 lira. And then there is the issue of availability.

Wow, such a crowd?
аватар lial89
yes, it is very difficult to get tickets here in the summer

WOW!! O_o
I read a review of a guy who went to Istanbul with a girl from the Bulgarian Sozopol - no hints about the difficulties of organizing a trip. Maybe it's easier from Bulgaria? The crowd does not run, because probably the tour is more expensive + the cost of a visa.

if you mean by bus - then of course from Bulgaria! to Istanbul from the resorts of Turkey to go more than 700! km.

I agree. It is unreasonable to drive or fly across the country from the south to the north of Turkey, but from Bulgaria it is more practical. If you combine a holiday in Bulgaria with an excursion to Istanbul, it’s convenient, but if you go to Bulgaria specifically to visit Istanbul ... well, I don’t know, you need a visa again ...

In my opinion, it doesn’t matter which resort to go from ... Well, that is, the difference will be about 3 hours. Excursions to Istanbul are organized without problems at any Bulgarian resort. A one-day excursion costs about 50 euros (spring prices, now it can be more expensive), an additional visa is bought at the border with Turkey. The main thing to pay attention to is that when applying for a Bulgarian visa, you will be given a DOUBLE ENTRY, otherwise you will have to return from Istanbul to your homeland, and not to the Bulgarian coast :) I will also add that a one-day excursion is very tiring. You will spend more time on the road than on the spot. If time permits, it is better to take a tour with an overnight stay in Istanbul, it will cost 50-70 euros more than a one-day tour...

Would you like to know who the prices are. On the website of the airline "Pegasus", for example, a one-way ticket per passenger from 50 lire.

50 lira if taken for 2 weeks. and if you take 3-5 days, then the price one way is around 100 lira. There are for 94, and there are for 115.

Yes, it's best to plan ahead.
аватар sandra-art
Well, you can plan a trip to Istanbul in advance. but to plan it while relaxing, for example, in Alanya or even Kemer, or rather planning to rest. redeem exact dates. I wouldn't risk it. then there will still be a headache how to get to the airport, how to drive off from the airport in Istanbul and where.
+ You never know what can happen during the rest - poisoning, sunstroke, dislocation of the leg, etc. no one will refund the money for the ticket ...

In any case, you should choose a longer excursion. travel time is too long. and yet from Turkish resorts it is easier to get to Istanbul by plane. Airfare prices I already wrote once here.
from Bulgaria is closer, but + customs, where shuttles often stop.
аватар LaFifa
Anetka-gan, I myself did not go from Bulgaria to Istanbul, but according to the reviews of friends who undertook a "voyage", there were no complaints about the Bulgarian-Turkish customs. And this year, in the spring, and two years ago - in the summer, they crossed the border quickly. So it's hardly worth being afraid of "shuttles". But they only have "unprintable" memories about the Bulgarian road, which spoiled the impression of Istanbul by 60% :(

Thanks for answers. Special thanks for the warning for the double entry visa. To be honest, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have heard or even heard of such a thing. But what needs to be done for this? Just warn your tour manager, and he will do everything himself when applying for a visa at the consulate?
аватар Biker_Oksana
LaFifa, and if you go from Bulgaria, then you have to pay for such an excursion in euros or levs at the rate?
------
oh, they only have "unprintable" memories about the Bulgarian road
------
What is meant by the Bulgarian road? Bulgarian part of the way to Istanbul? Or literally - pavement of Bulgarian roads?)))
аватар LaFifa
1.Usually our tourists pay in euros. Of course, the Bulgarians will accept both levs and bucks from you. A Turkish visa is bought only for euros or for bucks.
2. This refers to the Bulgarian part of the road to the Turkish border: serpentines, the quality of the road surface, Bulgarian drivers (although I personally have always come across normal Bulgarian drivers)
By visa: yes, it is better to warn your tour manager in advance that you are going to visit Istanbul and you need a double entry. In principle, in the summer the Bulgarian embassy issues double-entry visas automatically, but sometimes not. Better to be safe one more time ;)
аватар Biker_Oksana
LaFifa, and in the case of a double entry, a double tariff is paid for a visa? 35x2=70?
аватар Biker_Oksana
Yes, and eat. Is it more profitable to pay with euros or with levs? I understand that you can go online and count, but I'm interested in live responses.
@------
аватар LaFifa
1. No, the number of entries does not affect the price of a visa.
2. I don’t know what is more profitable, each tourist decides for himself based on the circumstances. Let's say if you have exchanged a large amount of money, the tour is ending, and you have not spent the money yet, then it would probably be more profitable to reset the local currency...
