Are there tours? What is the weather like on average?

8 years met NG in Antalya. You need to go to a good hotel with a heated outdoor pool. Excursions are, the food is good. There are not many people. Great vacation. And if you're lucky with the weather, then in general ....
аватар logvinova
We were on NG in Kemer. Sea + 18, air + 16-20. Rains. Take a break - take a walk.
BUT: 1) for the holiday itself, Turks come to the hotel in the same way as we go to the Carpathians or earlier to the Crimea. And everything is subordinated to them - the menu, the cultural program. Everything is in Turkish. You feel like a stranger at this celebration of life.
2) we were in 2010 and there were few people. Starting from the second day, they were fed according to the menu. And of course - what kind of buffet? in the hotel 20 people. I think now it will be even less. Or not?))
Conclusion: for the sake of relaxing on an extraordinary vacation - excellent. But for those for whom New Year is a sacred holiday, it is better not to go

If you really have a rest on NG in Turkey, then I personally would not take Antalya, but an excursion like Istanbul, Eastern Anatolia or Cappadocia.
In Antalya, in large hotels, there are either corporate parties, or only Turks. There is a buffet if the hotel is large. With excursions in Russian it will be strained from the Antalya region.

Yes. Excursions to Yacappadocia or Pammukale did not work out. Group not found

For 5 years we went to the January holidays in Side - hotels in Kumkoy Crystal Sunrise Queen5 *, Paloma Oceana 5 *. Arrived on January 1 to Antalya and then to Side transfer. On the New Year itself - a gala dinner was only once - there were only Germans, a quiz, dances for those over 60. This format of the holiday is absolutely not ours. During this period, there are few people in hotels - mainly the German pension fund)). If you have a company or a large family, then you yourself will not get bored. The food in the hotels is excellent - especially Crystal Sunrise Queen5 * - persimmon, lamb, pomegranates, desserts, fish - everything was very tasty and varied. In Paloma Oceana 5 * - not so varied and tasty, but the choice is good. If you're lucky with the weather, you can lie down on the beach in a T-shirt and read a book. It is pleasant to walk along the sea to Side, in Side to sit in a cafe or restaurant overlooking the bay, by the sea - to drink hot tart tea from a smoky samovar. In this region it is calm, sincere - for walking - it's great.

What to do in hotels on the coast? It gets dark around 5pm. In the morning, walk along the sea, drink freshly squeezed pomegranate juice and Turkish coffee on the waterfront. In the afternoon you can go to Manavgat (10 minutes by minibus) - sit in a coffee shop, go to the market - buy spices, cheap knitwear, sit in a restaurant by the river and order grilled fish. Closer to the afternoon, arrive at the hotel and go to the hammam and the pool until dinner. After dinner - take board games with you (they are now full of very funny and high-quality ones even for adults) and play in a warm, cozy lobby with a glass of red wine. If it rains, you can go shopping for the whole day to Antalya, or to shops in Manavgat, again, a swimming pool, a hammam, table tennis, coffee on the veranda to the sound of winter rain and surf. We really like such holidays on the coast - food, health improvement, walks and sea air, again the sun and new impressions. Last year we were in Antalya from 1 to 8 January. We went for a walk around the city, 2 times a week to the big bazaar.

logvinova, thank you :)) cheered up, *sacred holiday*. I immediately remembered those who start chopping salads from the 28th, and then on the 3rd they say that they haven’t tried everything yet :)))) and everyone is sitting in a waiting position until their wishes come true on this * magical * night)))
аватар logvinova
Yeah, and then they eat up))) I liked the previous posts about Side. Everything is exactly the way it is. We ran from the sauna to the sea, the pool was colder. Walked along the roads oranges on the trees. Cool, but has nothing to do with NG

YES, you are right, Egypt22 described it very juicy, I had some kind of effect of presence, I really wanted to be there :). As for me, then all these Christmas trees-sticks in 25 years of life should already get bored, not to mention, if more has been lived. You can add variety)

Was in Turkey 7 years ago longing green. Some Germans club who were over 70, we were three Russians, just children were a bit under 50, they climbed all the mountains around Kemer to entertain themselves. We are not so aristocratic as to enjoy food and coffee. If you want to drive and have fun, go to Thailand. For the third year we have been celebrating the New Year in Pattaya, where life and fun are. There are a lot of people on the beach in shorts and caps.

Everything is right about the contingent on the coast of Turkey in NG - elderly Germans. In terms of activities - who likes what and according to character. Indeed, winter Turkey can make someone feel sad. We consider it simply as an alternative to the rest house near Moscow - more light, sun, sea air, excellent service, food far from Russian cuisine, plus only 3 hours to fly, there is no huge difference in climate, at a price of 5 * in winter Turkey (with a pool , hammam, almost round-the-clock food) come out cheaper than a holiday home. Opportunity to take off your winter jacket and boots in January and admire the blue sky and turquoise sea)

Egypt22, listed all my priorities! You might think that sitting at home on NG is super-mega fun for everyone ... I haven’t been to Turkey in winter, but not because our snow and Christmas trees are dear to me, and it’s impossible to leave work during this period. For the same purpose, I'm going to my DR in January in Egypt. The mood rises only from the fact that I put T-shirts and shorts in a suitcase, and outside the window, at best, 0 degrees

Oh, yes, any change of scenery is a vacation. If the choice is between Turkey and "at home on the couch", then definitely Turkey. If the choice is between Turkey and warm countries, then I would prefer to fly to a warmer place.
