When does the swimming season start in Turkey?
This year we are planning to go to Turkey in early May with a group of about 20-30 people, so I would like to know if the swimming season will already be?

The purchase season is a purely individual concept))) Some are "funny" and not very adequate and bathe in the New Year! But seriously, the second half of May - not earlier! (although there are statements like "swimmed with children on May, the water is warm"). For 7 years now we have been going to Turkey after May 20, we always buy (water 19-22), and children only by the end of May (water 22-24). But year after year is not necessary.

The last decade of May is already quite comfortable water (although this is relative)

you only need to go to Alanya, this is the southernmost region and cool for young people. They say the Pineapple hotel steers in this regard, and to the discos, which in Alanya itself can be reached on foot (I rested in a nearby hotel)

It is always interesting to read comments that contain the word "say" ...)))) Alanya has always been and will be good for young people because it is the most budgetary region in Turkey.

As for the budget, I would argue. I think Kemer is more budget friendly. No wonder there are almost no foreigners there - only representatives of the CIS (but this does not apply to the issue)
аватар PolikSVT
Well, if you say so, I'm not even interested in discussing with you))) Absolutely wrong ideas about the contingent of tourists. And in Alanya, and Kemer, there are hotels where the dominance of "ours", and there are those where we are 5-10%. Therefore, it is not worth comparing regions according to this parameter))

In some ways, I agree with you, but, nevertheless, Kemer is not without reason called the all-Union health resort of Turkey. My girlfriend lives in Germany and has a rest in those hotels that we don't sell at all! It's hard enough to match!
Somehow looking at a map of hotels in the Kemer region and looking through the offers of tour operators, we saw that about 10% of the hotels are not for sale with us (only 10%), the rest are more than 80% occupied by representatives of the CIS.
Another thing is Belek or Marmaris. The situation is different. Everything is almost the opposite.
But I digress from the essence of the issue. The author did not ask about this.
However, if you choose between Alanya and Kemer, I would choose Alanya.

Apparently, you know Kemer only by hearsay, otherwise, I assure you, you would have moved to this awesome natural area from bald and dusty Alania long ago))) To judge like that, you just need to go there. And by the way, my friend also lives in Germany, and we have already rested in Kemer 2 times in the bottom hotel. I don’t like Belek at all, waves and sand, which strives to clog everywhere.

I apologize for the mistakes, I type quickly, we have 3 nights already)))

Alas, I was not lucky to have a rest in the same hotel with my girlfriend - I was in Camyuva, and she was in Geynuk (I apologize for the mistakes in the title).
PolikSVT, do not be so categorical in your judgments. People write what they saw, not hearsay!
Goodnight! Happy new travels!

We were in Alanya, in the body of Insula (Konakli village) in the first decade of May 2012. Everyone swam in the sea - both children (not only our child) and adults. The water was 21-22 degrees.
