I rested in Marmaris itself and in the Bodrum area. I liked the city of Marmaris more. But there is no sea in the city. Better near in Icmeler. We went on excursions from Marmaris to Ephesus and Pammukale for two days. From Bodrum, however, there is a little closer. We also went from Marmaris to the Dalyan River and the Aegean Islands, we really liked it. But from Bodrum to the islands it seemed not so interesting. We were there and there at the same time of the year in early September. The sea in the Marmaris area was warmer.

We rested in Kusadasi, really liked the city. If you are interested there is a good bazaar and a beautiful seaport with cruise ships. Gorgeous sea with sandy shore. Our hotel was on ladys beach. Not far from Ephesus and Pammukale.

Previously, there were tours from Kyiv to Kusadasi, we rested there (unfortunately I forgot the name of the hotel). But we flew from Kyiv to Bodrum. Honestly, we didn’t like it there: there was no hotel, albeit 5 * and the beach was really very narrow .We love the Kemer region very much, we have already been to all its villages. But I VERY want more :)

Sea Light 5* (Turkey/Kusadasi). I really liked the hotel. If it doesn't bother you that it is located a little on the mountain. You can walk or by car.

I love Marmaris. Bodrum liked much less. Kusadasi did not like at all. Once again, this is my PERSONAL opinion. Friends are fanatic over Kusadasi, spat in Marmaris...
The sea in Marmaris is really grayish, but warm. We usually sunbathe in front of the Atlantis water park, there are enough sun loungers, and the prices in the cafe are normal, and Jimi's beach boy is just a fine fellow - everything is clean, attentive and not intrusive!
We always stop in apartments in the Cityler area ("Secret Garden", "Green Valley"), a quiet and peaceful place, and go to Bar Street by dolmushka for 10 minutes.
So it's all a matter of taste.

From Marmaris to Pammukale on a private minibus for 10 people (for our company) it cost us 500 lire (not from the Tour Operator), the bus was waiting for us and we were free during our stay in the pools and so on, we stopped there at our request for breakfast on the road - a picnic in a pine grove, in the evening we stopped at an excellent real Turkish cafe for dinner (we ate 10 lira per person), so I advise you to go this way.
We also took tickets to Rhodes via the Internet for the ferry, although you can take it on the spot, we stayed in Rhodes for the night at a hotel in the center for 22 Euros for 2 + 2 for breakfast, I also advise you, otherwise the ferry arrives at 10 am, and at 16 -30 already back, nothing really to see...

Janny25 Have you considered Fethiye? And the sea is beautiful (I like it more than in Marmares or Icmeler), and it’s not as windy as in Bodrum, near Oludeniz (the sea there is a fairy tale, though the pebbles are prickly, but there are also sandy beaches), you can do paragliding. Fethiye is a beautiful town, you can go on excursions (the same ones).
