and you thank TA?
I didn’t see such a question here, but I’m curious, but which of us thanks TA (and how) for the attention, competence, etc., etc., and all that kind? :)

Are you laughing? For attention and work, you pay them at least 1% of the cost of your tour.
It wouldn't have crossed my mind.
аватар jabetta
I thank my TA girl because she books the right hotel for me by my phone call, although she is not obliged to do this, and we often take vouchers at the last moment and it happens that by the time I get to her, the hotel is already in the stack or there are no tickets. Yes, and the discount makes the maximum possible. My gratitude is expressed in something elementary, such as a box of chocolates, a bottle of champagne, etc., but it is clear that she is pleased. I know that she would have done everything anyway, therefore, I am doubly pleased to thank her.
аватар Katyyy
in fact, the agency in which you are a regular customer has your passport data in the database and, acting on trust, can book everything for you without your presence. I've been doing this for a hundred years.
Your constancy is the best gratitude "My best gift is you" :))))))))
аватар jabetta
Naturally, I understand all this, but not everyone will trust to do all this. But in any case, this is everyone's business, I'm just pleased to always realize that in this business (not always clean), there are people in their place.
аватар mannes
I have been using the same travel agent for four years now.
The best thanks are new clients. I would recommend her to my friends and family whenever possible. They call her, say that from me, get a small discount and everyone is happy and satisfied.
Well, no one forbade small joys, like sweets ...
аватар Katyyy
mannes. plus one :) Mine already have the code phrase "We are from Katya" :)

By the way, Shega is a travel agent? She recently started working and is now thinking about what to squeeze out of her tourists?
Z.Y. A qualified competent agent is such a rarity (at least in Kyiv) that I don’t feel sorry for bringing him (her) a box of chocolates or a basket of cherries / strawberries or a bottle of wine for good service.
аватар Lu-la-la
Yes, thank you.
Under the words jabetta and mannes, she herself is ready to sign - 100% right.
I was somehow lucky with agents, usually the next day after arrival, they themselves call and ask how we went.
And then I run in myself - to say "thank you" personally and give some small souvenir-present, since I live near the office :-)
Yes, and here, on turpravda, she left reviews not only about hotels, but also about travel agencies.
Once upon a time, right after receiving my diploma, I had a boss - a smart, successful and very decent uncle. He often taught us that "nothing is so cheap and valued so dearly as courtesy." I remember for the rest of my life.
Therefore, if a person does his job well, then I am always pleased to say "thank you" to him once again.

no, I’m in a completely different business, I’m just going to TA today to pick up tickets and I wondered if someone thanks people for their work :) no one argues that customer loyalty is the best gift, but here, for example, The business hours are the same as the TA hours and they are always late for me, they can take Saturday even though it's not their business day. And how thank you - no one canceled mini presents :) and they also work on trust over the phone
аватар Shega
which is always nice! make a possible discount - as a gift for some significant date for us, as customers. for example, my husband and I received invitations from TA to a tourist exhibition - it was very pleasant such attention from them
аватар jabetta
So here I am about the same thing, that people in their place are excellent, and it’s a sin not to encourage such people.
And in general I am pleased to do something pleasant for good people, from this I am most joyful.
аватар sandra-art
I brought souvenirs. in a travel agency in the office there are stands with souvenirs from different countries. I also recommend my agency to my friends
аватар nadin65
I did not financially thank the Travel Agency, but I simply recommend this agency to my friends.
I choose tours for myself at home on the Internet, and I only go to them to book, and take up to 10 minutes from them. Although now you can freely book yourself, because air tickets and all other documents printed on a printer are issued.
аватар 4yuka
If you have been taking vouchers for many years in the same travel agency, then why not?! They give us good discounts, and we always bring exotic fruits to them.

i am a travel agent. During the off season of my company in Egypt, I return to Ukraine and sell Turkey, Egypt, etc. I can't speak for all travel agents, I'll speak for myself. I would not be pleased to receive something from a tourist in material form. That's what my commission is for. But when the client comes later and says "You're the best in town!" or "Only Vys will advise all my friends." This is for me the greatest gratitude for the fact that it was not in vain that I sat at the computer for 2 weeks, choosing a tour for them (and there are such clients), having earned 30 dollars on this, having previously invested tens of thousands of dollars in myself to obtain the necessary knowledge, to sell tours. Tell your agents they are the best. Let them see that it is not in vain that such huge money is invested in themselves. And nothing else is needed.
аватар Amir1
mistake, sorry "During the off-season of my company in Egypt." Not in Egypt, but in Thailand. Although it doesn't matter.
аватар Zlata28
totally agree with mannes
the best gratitude is to attract new customers
I always recommend the TA where we buy tours
in turn, acquaintances receive an additional discount
all is well and everyone is happy

Tell me, does anyone thank the bank manager for giving you a loan? What is worse than a travel agency manager? The best reward for me. manager: a) a well-rested client b) a rested tourist with a discount of no more than 3-5%. Only then can I save money: a) for my vacation b) for promotional tours c) to fulfill all the wishes of the client with pleasure when organizing a trip.
In principle, you can’t take money, it’s already a bribe, but when they give me a good bottle of cognac or wine brought from abroad, or a magnet, it’s already nice. here
аватар Alfini
@ Tell me, does anyone thank the bank manager for giving you a loan? @
Of course not. It is he who should thank me that I divorced for a loan, thereby providing him with bread and interest on deposits.
аватар Katyyy
Do you thank the employees of the mobile operator for the fact that you have a connection?
Honestly, I'm not greedy, but such options are remnants of the Soviet past. I'd rather not "shake out" (namely, it often happens) a discount of more than 5% than think about how to thank the agent.
аватар mannes
My travel agent has a permanent 6% discount for me. This is because I have brought clients to her more than once (friends, relatives), and we just know each other for a long time. And it suits me very much, I always use her services. And most importantly, she NEVER let me down, neither with documents, nor with advice from hotels ...
аватар Katyyy
mannes 5 is standard plus/minus depends on personal relationship. They gave me 10% in some cases, but that's not the point. She herself repeatedly witnessed scenes of incoming tourists knocking out a discount of 10% or more, arguing that I’ll go and buy cheaper right now at Gali’s across the road. I would send these immediately to Galya :)
аватар Amir1
At first, I also sent Katyyy to Galya, even though Galya is dumb and has never even gone to an advertising store. And what happened? Tourists come to me, for a week or two they take out my brains with the selection of a tour, and then Galya earns money from this by booking this tour. So find the right way out of this situation. Galya can give a big discount, because her job is only to press a couple of buttons, and I invested a lot of money in knowledge, spent a lot of time and it hurts me to give a big discount. Why then this work, if for 10 dollars they take out your brain for two weeks? But you have to give discounts. So what to do? Do not feed stupid Galya with your knowledge and dead time. This is how business goes down the drain.
аватар valeriya71
I am a travel agent and the best reward for me is the tourists who enjoy their trip or vacation. There are those who - as you say - "endure the brain" for 3 weeks and a month, and as a result do not go anywhere, because they took a walk to another travel agency with a tour already selected by us only because they gave a discount by a percentage more! But about discounts - 10% or more - and which of you will agree to work without wages??? And what responsibility for the vacation offered to you should then be borne by a travel agent if he works for 1-2% ?! After all, we are not a store where the final cost sometimes exceeds the purchase price by 300% (I affirm with knowledge of the matter - there are friends and familiar owners of private shops hence discounts up to 70%). We just need to respect each other's work, that's all!
аватар PolikSVT
I always come to TA after a trip to share my impressions (although I always choose the hotel myself). And incl. thank the manager girl (after all, a kind word is pleasant for anyone, and a small present is even more!). And my impressions of the trip are important to her in order to recommend this hotel to other tourists according to certain criteria. Every year I receive a discount of 8-10% even with early booking. It seems to me that there is nothing better for TA than regular and grateful customers!
аватар Pachok
I don't fight for discounts or thank travel agents for standard procedures.
If the agent had to go out of their way to help me (book without prepayment, stay late at work, etc.), then, of course, thank you. And by the way, 20 dollars in an envelope personally in the hands of an agent do wonders with his (her) mood :) I think it's better than provoking diabetes and alcoholism :)
аватар PolikSVT
Pachok: And why do you immediately associate the word "present" with alcohol and sweets?! No one "fights" for discounts, my travel agent offers them himself, as a regular client. And communication with TA sometimes outgrows the "standard" procedure, the tour is booked for me by phone call, and no reward is expected. And "miracles in an envelope" often put a person in an uncomfortable position. I believe that human relations in any business are above all! And an elegant thoughtful present is often valued by a person more than 20 bucks, which must also be exchanged at the bank for a "traveling" currency!
аватар Pachok
I don’t associate it :)) Read above what people bring to agents.
And why be nervous? You do this, I do it differently, "happy citizens go home."
I myself worked "with people" for a long time, albeit in a different area, and I want to say that the best gratitude is to clearly fulfill all the simple requirements for documents, not to substitute financially, not to bargain for a discount, to apply again. Our holidays turned into a real farce, when the boxes were stacked, and the bottles - in boxes. "Little presents" are still lying around in the closet, there is nowhere to use them, but it's a pity to throw them away, after all, people cared, bought. Of course, we happily thanked, but in fact, it's all superfluous. Timely paid bill, adequate behavior - that's the main thing.
My most favorite client was a company that applied for my services twice a week, paid only by bank transfer, did not give any gifts / money, but provided absolutely all documents correct to the last letter. We had a very human relationship.
