Is the Aegean Sea cold in Turkey even in July?
As I understand it, the air on the Aegean coast of Turkey is drier and more comfortable in summer than on the Mediterranean Sea. But in the reviews it is very often noted that the Aegean Sea is "invigoratingly cool", and for some it is completely cold. This is true?

I'm afraid to upset you, but, unfortunately, it is.
Were in July 2010 in Marmaris on the Aegean coast.
Pine trees, beauty, wonderful air, but the water is really cool.
On the fifth day we started to get used to it. But I definitely do not recommend such a vacation for small children and heat-loving people. Before that, she swam in the Mediterranean Sea, but not in Turkey. The difference is really big.
In July, this is especially felt, since the difference between the temperature of air and water is huge.

Aegean is of course a little cooler, but not so much.
we were in September! and floated well. especially at night - steamy water!!

By September, perhaps, and warms up over the summer months. But almost everyone who has been in the mud writes that the water is cold. Well, that's all. I don't want to go to the Aegean!
Where would you like to go..?

Very much you in vain refuse. I really liked the Aegean coast. were in Kusadasi. We ourselves traveled to all the sights and the nearest towns. There are almost no Slavs, which makes the resort more attractive for recreation. the sea is better than the mediterranean. in Didim, the blue lagoons are gorgeous. beauty is incredible.

Last July in Bodrum, the water was up to 24. If you are used to the warm sea, you should not go

In Kemer in July, the Mediterranean Sea is 27 and above, and in September it happens even 29-30. We usually swim for at least an hour in a row, or even two. You can consider it as an option

Well, yes. I understand that the Mediterranean is very warm. But Kemer has very humid air in July. Like in a sauna. I somehow don't like it.

for me, the end of June - August is the time of the Aegean coast !!!!

Mid August. Bodrum. Very hot during the day (and humid too), but the sea... - BEAUTY. I like the coast in the Kemer region (more precisely, beyond Kemer), and the Aegean Sea is better than the Mediterranean (my subjective opinion). It is advisable to visit different places to find your own.

Was in Bodrum at the end of September-beginning of October, the water was 24 degrees. Perhaps we got lucky with the weather. The air was around 30 degrees and not a single rain. Beauties!

Consider Oludeniz and Fethiye. The sea is still Mediterranean, and the climate is already drier than in the Anatolian Gulf. The water temperature is slightly lower, but warmer than in the Aegean.
аватар Krasotas
Thanks for the info! I'll watch Oludeniz and Fethiye now.
аватар Anetka-gan
Fethiye. here is a typo. and then you will not find a friend.

I would not say that the sea is really cold at this time
pleasantly cool - YES, but not cold, so as much brrr
although, again, it's all individual
I just don't like extreme heat and very warm (very disgusting) sea.
аватар Alfini
It's not a typo :) That's right - Fethiye!

Cold, don't trend. Well, or "for an amateur." (I was in June)

I'm definitely not a "fan". Merzlyachka. I love the heat and warm-warm water! So, the Aegean Sea (at least in July) is not for me. It's a pity, but I'll have to look for other options ...

but I didn’t like the sea, it’s really cold, you’ll swim to the buoy and back faster so as not to freeze and it was July. I was generally shocked, because I like to relax in October in the Mediterranean, and I didn’t expect that the Aegean is so cold!

It is strange to hear that the Aegean Sea is cold. We stayed in September 2013. The sea is very good, colder than the Mediterranean, but still it cannot be called cold. The water was +26. Of course, in August the Mediterranean is +32, and the air in the shade is +43, it is very difficult to endure such heat. But in Icmeler it's just wonderful. Hotel Fortuna is good. The beaches in Icmeler are clean, sand and very small pebbles. Nature is very beautiful.

We are now on the Aegean vacation, the end of July-August, I want to say that the sea is cool in the morning, it becomes warm in the afternoon. At an air temperature of 33-35, when you are roasted in the sun, the sea is just right .... it’s warm in the pool and you can’t even cool down, but the sea .... Beauty is simple, but .... Again, if you are thermophilic, then you will be cold and will swim only after dinner, when the sea warms up ...
