Indeed, if you go on one excursion, then 3 or 4 is better than nothing, because you will only be at the hotel in the evening. As for cheap excursions, it is better to take them through your tour operator - this is more interesting and there is confidence to return whole. I was on all excursions, except for Cyprus.
