As I understand it, you do not need a visa for an individual trip to Turkey!? And when is it better to rent an apartment - on arrival or to book in advance?
I want to go with my wife for a couple of weeks to Turkey.

a visa is issued upon arrival at the airport, it costs 2 USD in the passport. Depending on where you want to fly and when, as I understand it, most likely to Istanbul? Or not? It's always better to book in advance, but I don't think an apartment is a good solution. Hotels are booked online without any problems. but the air ticket ... it's more complicated.

We would like to visit Antalya. But why is an apartment an option worse than a hotel? Judging by the cost per week, the cost of the apartment is much cheaper?

visa costs 20 USD, not 2. and is issued upon arrival at the airport in Turkey.

Thank you - I understand that 20 USD. :-)
But why renting an apartment is worse than staying in a hotel?????????

I will explain what a hotel is better than an apartment. One day, my friends persuaded me to go as a savage to Turkey - they went with a group of 5 people and rented a house in Antalya. So, naturally, cheaper. About $350 per month for everyone, 3 bedrooms and a large living room with 2 sofas. I had to fly later, for 8 days only, it didn’t work anymore. I bought tickets from a tour operator who had their own charter flights. It came out to 250$ round trip, in the summer, when a lot of planes fly, places can be found. And this is where it started...

Well, here - at the most interesting place - where I understand and there should be an answer to my question ..... :-(

at the Domodedovo airport they immediately turned me over - without explaining the reasons. They took me to some office and began to ask where I was going and why I was flying. Why no tour voucher. In short - the nerves shook for an hour and a half - until the critical time came for boarding the plane. By hook or by crook they let me in, but they put it on some list. so here!!! So next time---better than the cheapest tour with a flight--and do whatever you want there!! Good luck to you!!!!

Now I understand! Thanks for the information!!!!

I agree that an apartment is not an option, but for me the hotel is even better because you don’t have to worry about food, the beach at the hotel is much cleaner and safer than the city, there is some kind of insurance, and you can also resort to the help of guides !!!

and if an interesting burning tour turns up, then the question generally disappears)

quite often, a tour can be cheaper than a separate ticket and accommodation. Do not be lazy - it's worth it, I flew to Egypt like that - the tour cost 300 USD. - and the ticket is more than 800 USD And no one will really control you in Turkey - even if you choose another hotel to stay at all.

rested in Turkey twice in 5 and 4 stars .. at the reception, the reception manager, the girl said that you can rent a seisas right, for example, in Alanya on the beach line, somewhere around 350 bucks a month ... but it’s better if some friend, living or working in Turkey, before your arrival ... and so that there are no problems (without a contract if) - use a tour package. A visa is opened at the airport or 20 bucks or 15 euros and Turkey itself doesn’t give a shit where you are all this time - in a hotel or in a ditch .....

How can you not need a visa if you are a foreigner and you are flying to a foreign country? ? ? ?of course you need it, and they have no problems with it, you will receive it upon arrival right before check-in at the box office, 20 bucks or 15 euros, whichever is more convenient for you, there are several cash desks, cash desks for visas in vero currency without queues at all, and dollars - It will be possible to stand for 20 minutes. Take the euro!! Why rent an apartment? they are not particularly developed, you can just rent a room in a small hotel, where even breakfast may not be included

As for the problems of flying to Turkey without a visa, this is absolute nonsense, I often fly to my friends, they work there and no one has ever asked why I fly like that. Of course, from a tour operator, it will be much cheaper. Where are you going to rent an apartment? through agents, even this is very expensive, and you don’t know the language to look for yourself. It was easier for me, I know the language, and yet it is not easy to negotiate at a normal price. Good luck to YOU!!!)))

If the main goal is cheaper, then an apartment is not an option. There is no established system for renting apartments. This is not the Crimea and not Sochi. In addition, you need to look at the houses where the Turks live at least once. What Alisa93 writes is not an apartment, but a cottage. There are no such options in most resort areas. In Alanya there is. But try to at least find out how much it costs to get from the airport in Antalya to Alanya. This option is for people who know the country well and know the language

Thank you all for your input and information! I knew!!!! That the language will not only lead to Kyiv, but it can also be seen to Turkey too !!!! :-)
Good luck to all!!!!

Gentlemen, do you need any additional documents to show, for example, return tickets, a voucher, medical insurance, money, when departing to Turkey and upon arrival in Turkey? Is it official? Will there be any problems if I fly from Belarus?
And maybe someone will tell you where and how you can find out about tickets for charter flights, there are often empty seats there, and flying on charters is much cheaper.
