We rested in this hotel the first week of October with two families: we are 2 adults + 2 children (7 and 6 years old) and my sister with her daughters 14 years old and 1.5 years old. We had a wonderful rest, but there were some ambivalent feelings. My sister is generally delighted (the second time on the road, and the first was a hundred years ago) and sincerely did not understand what we were grumbling about. Well, we are such grumblers)))
The hotel was selected more for the sister's family (well, for us to be comfortable) - an average family hotel in terms of cost. The reviews were studied, the nuances were all weighed and accepted. I must say right away that I really liked the location and layout of the hotel, the area is wonderful. The family orientation of the hotel suited us, the fact that there are 18+ zones is just wonderful, I speak as an obsessed mother, but who sometimes wants to hide from her own children, not to mention the crowds of other people's screaming and squeaking creatures. If only others respected this wish. . .
The female part of our company (and this is the absolute majority) was satisfied with the food, but the men (husband and son) really lacked simple meat, not stewed with vegetables, not chicken (which is not perceived as meat at all). Of course, everyone was aware of the simplicity of the cuisine of this hotel, but such is masculine nature - to be capricious))) In general, the idea of the hotel is good, but as often happens, some minor flaws, and when there are a lot of them, spoil everything. After all the ups and downs with VIM Avia, we checked into the hotel a day later and already closer to midnight. Despite our request, indicated at the time of booking, to settle, if possible, side by side, our rooms were in different wings of the hotel, but at least on one floor - the first one. Garbage, of course, but I would not even pay attention to this if the family who arrived with us at the same time had not been settled in the room next to my sister. The first floor is actually the third. My sister's room was in the wing next to Rixos, but with windows facing the courtyard, our room overlooked the bungalow, but right below us the exhaust hood and air conditioners of the technical rooms of the hotel were noisy. Husband didn't like this location. Referring to the light sleep of the children (which is completely untrue), they asked to change, without further questions they moved us away from the noise on the same floor and in the same wing. The only thing was that there was no longer a bunk bed, they brought a cot, so it was a little cramped. As for the noise in general: the disco can be heard in all rooms! A few save the closed doors of the balcony. We slept with an open balcony, it did not bother us at all, but the noise of the hood is annoying, especially for some men sleeping soundly and loudly))). And the children don’t care at all whether it’s noise or not, they sometimes didn’t have time to undress - they fell asleep. What is being said and done in the corridors can be heard in all the rooms!! ! The conversations of neighbors become known with open balconies. We don't care what others talk about, but what really annoyed us was the constant smoking of the neighbors at night.
The hotel is old. As has already been written repeatedly, there is no talk of any renovation. Some cosmetic repairs. What has been completely replaced is textiles - bed linen, towels. Oh, I really liked the bright colorful pillows on the terrace, obviously new. Beach towels, of course, are not as fluffy as they were at the beginning of the season, but not “killed” either.
I repeat, I was aware of the "antiquity" of the hotel, but I did not think that everything was so scary. This is especially evident in plumbing. Our toilet bowl lived its own special life: I want to - I flush it, I want it - I don’t flush it, but to enhance the effect I’ll take it, but it will drip, the bathroom, after all, is a wet place... My sister’s sink did not leave water. All repair attempts were unsuccessful. I had to calm down and adapt. And the shower! Water barely flows from anywhere, but not from a watering can. I tried to wipe the plumbing from deposits, it didn’t work out, it was so ingrained and overgrown. It was not very pleasant to touch the handles of the mixers. Perhaps in some rooms everything is much better, so we were not lucky.
About cleaning. The garbage was taken out, so they were removed. The floor covering is so filthy that you can't tell if it's been vacuumed. Yes, we must admit, it was all the same. Towels were changed, swans were not spun in our room, something was depicted at my sister's every day. Tea and coffee were not replenished, I think, and shampoos would not be replenished, we just don’t use them. Honestly, I showed my nasty character, I complained to the maid on the eve of our departure because of the missing cleaning (they didn’t even take out the trash). Well, it became a shame: it means that tomorrow we are leaving, then we are no longer on the balance sheet...
Upon arrival the next day, I requested the proper slippers and bathrobes. No problem, yes, of course... They brought everything, only we ran out of slippers))). They brought my sister to the room, but we didn’t have enough, yes, they said that they were over and as soon as they were, right away. But we didn’t wait for this good, we didn’t even hesitate to remind (out of harm, of course). And another nuance: there were bathrobes without belts, we had both bathrobes (at least one for two, my husband still doesn’t use it), my sister has one... We also didn’t wait for the complete set.
Well, perhaps the biggest disappointment is the lack of champagne. Accurately by our arrival, it ended and delivery is no longer expected. It is clear that this is not champagne in the classical sense, but some kind of sweet wine drink with gas, but we like it... It maintains a rainbow mood very well without strong intoxication. Strong alcohol on vacation is not held in high esteem by us, only for champagne and there was hope, but it wasn’t there. We drank a bottle of alcoholic soda on the night of our arrival with my husband in a night bar on the occasion of his birthday, and this was the last bottle in the hotel.
The trip was timed to coincide with my husband's birthday, unfortunately, we spent the whole day on the road (but also a certain variety). So the cake was initially denied to us, because. it is served only the same day, after persuasion, they agreed to provide it the next day (i. e. , on the second day after the birthday), but in the end they brought the same cake on the first day of our stay at the hotel. I didn’t try it, the color didn’t excite, the others didn’t like it, and it remained half-eaten.
What else to complain about... From the a la carte restaurants at that time there was only a barbecue, they signed up for it for a change as early as four days later, but it was raining that evening, and our restaurant was covered with a copper basin, we were left without variety)))
About freshly squeezed juice for breakfast. Here is a wonderful idea. Only juicers for large fruits, and oranges were small. I had to immediately put several halves under the press, as a result, juice with bitterness from the peel. Yes, and mess with this little thing for a long time. Tried a couple of times and gave up.
There were problems with the elevators. First, one broke down, on one of the days three out of four did not work. We rarely used them - you can't wait. But here is one of the members of our gang, still in the wheelchair age, because of which they experienced some inconvenience.
Probably, the disadvantages that are important for us have ended. Now a little about the good
The kids loved the mini club. Every morning they had to solve a difficult problem: water slides or a club? Because work time is the same. Well, ice cream and cola in unlimited quantities - the height of dreams. And to take pizza by ourselves and have a bite by the pool without adult supervision (so they thought) - it's cool... Dad chose the relax pool. The water slides there and the bar were no longer working at that time, but it was possible to use the pool, water and tea were freely available in the bar. So, there were no guests at this pool, so no one bothered dad to read a book or just sleep))) Good sauna, quite hot. The employees did not recommend pouring water on the stones due to the old age of the system, and this, in my opinion, is very good: well, this is not a Russian bathhouse, and it will not become Russified from additional humidity, especially when there are no brooms. But the wet bath was broken. I haven’t been to the hamam, I don’t like it, I don’t know, according to my husband, about nothing
The water in all the pools is cold (the sea is warmer), but the children still like it better in the pools. They are more comfortable there, calmer in a limited space, and the sea is frightening, and even the waves sometimes beat in the face. Therefore, I had to forcefully pull out of the pool to bask in the sun and at least a little salt in the sea. As for the beach: the beach is like a beach, the presence of pebbles - well, this is a natural feature of this region, slippers to help. Cigarette butts and bits in the sand are our upbringing and respect for others, the hotel is not to blame here. But we don’t really like poking around in the sand, so we often settled down by the pool or on the lawn with hammocks next to paid tents, by the way, we didn’t fill up places in advance. These hammocks are more popular only for photo shoots.
Of course, we went beyond the sea, the sun and positive emotions. We got it all. But we did not go to live in a tent, but in a hotel that claims a certain set of services. And it does not matter that it is not the most expensive, but since you are already offering, then, please, provide it.
But no matter how lazy a vacationer is, sometimes you want to break out of the hotel fence. You can go to the village of Tekirova, 15 minutes. But for a more thorough shopping, it is better to go to Kemer, 30 minutes by bus, 4.5 lira for the fare. This bus calls at the ancient city of Phaselis. But I recommend walking to it on foot, as we did.
Tekirova is a very beautiful region. The cable car to Mount Tahtali is very close. We have already been there, this time we sent our sister and eldest daughter there. At first I considered an independent trip there, but in fact Tui offered almost the same price, so they didn’t bother and bought an excursion to Tahtali at the hotel.
