When we met at the airport, the guide said that their connection would be very expensive for us. If your operator does not provide preferential prices in roaming, it is better to take travel SIM cards - GoodLine or Teletai. A minute comes out to about 50 cents (+/-) - you can check on their websites - depending on where to call. I don't know about phone cards, but I think it's the cheapest. In Turkey, many hotels have free WiFi - therefore, using a laptop or Smartphone, you can Skype unlimitedly.

The cost of 1 SMS to Russia costs 9 rubles (St. Petersburg)

the cheapest communication is through telephone booths, using a card. There are enough vending machines on the street in all resort areas. The card can be purchased in small markets. Call from a local Turkcell card for 1 minute for about a dollar.

Better buy a TravelSiM card, they are sold by Ukrainian tour operators. Incoming free of charge, outgoing in Turkey 49 cents a minute, incoming in 123 countries is free. Once bought, use almost all over the world - and do not depend on local communication conditions.
Ukrainian operators, on average, "ache" about three times more, and you will also pay for all incoming messages, and SMS up to 4 UAH.
Turkish cards are not profitable at all - money flows like water on them, and for what it is not known. The price of the card depends on the number of minutes on it. I uttered a card for $ 15 in 5 minutes. Although incoming calls are also free. There are payphones, we called from them - but the money also runs out somehow very quickly.

You can also visit the UMC and LIFE website. They have good roaming offers. Used UMC in Dubai. The price pleased. TravelSiM gives good rates. But this is beneficial, provided that you have a rest abroad more than once.

Let me disagree completely. UMC has been owned by MTS for a long time. Prices in roaming are not at all encouraging, especially for contract subscribers - 12.5 UAH. incoming and the same amount outgoing to MTS numbers, 16 UAH. to other operators and 36 UAH. to other countries, 4 UAH SMS; There are some packages that are cheaper, but they also have "pitfalls".
Life, of course, will be much more profitable, but even there it seems like a binding only to Turkcell. And in roaming, you can not keep track of the automatic change of operator.

I think the most profitable is a telephone connection by card to a telephone machine, a card can be purchased at any post office, it costs $ 3, at the reception in the hotel a card with the same denomination is $ 4, we have never spoken out the entire limit (always remains until the next trip), if you call a landline phone, it takes 40 minutes, to cell phones it is much less. in Turkey, sometimes for cell phones and all incoming calls from many operators are paid, upon arrival in the country we simply turn off our cell phone, at least after we once paid a bill of more than 7,000 rubles per week.

"Travel life :) tariff plan"

Dear ani_veik, read carefully what is indicated on your links: the BON VOYAGE service is provided for only 7 days, and only for prepaid subscribers, then it is deactivated, activation is paid. This service is not valid for MTS contract subscribers.
As for the specified Life tariff plan, I already said above that you need to work only with the Turkcell operator (see your link), and this is not very convenient.
Believe that we have repeatedly tried almost all the options, it is more profitable to either buy TravelSim or call using Turkish cards)))

Dear Irina-ua, read carefully: vadim94, who asked a question about local communications, did not indicate that he had a contract tariff. If the option with TravelSim suits you, this does not mean that it will be optimal for all tourists. A person would like to receive all the information, but he can make a choice himself.

I think that different points of view are good, and just because of this, now a person has detailed information. How many people - so many opinions, and everyone expresses his own and forces no one to do anything :) I just clarified your information, because. more than once I had to pay much more than expected, and Ukrainian mobile operators have already got it with their "pitfalls". Nothing personal :) Happy March 8, ani_veik, all the best and interesting travels!

IRINA-ua I ani-veik Guys, I have a prepaid connection Kyivstar, please tell me exactly what kind of connection is beneficial to have in Turkey? Does KYIVSTAR communication work in TURKEY?
аватар Irina-ua
Of course, Kyivstar has roaming in Turkey. See for yourself if these rates will be beneficial for you:
http://www.kyivstar.ua/mm/mobile/roaming/roaming/?country_id=116.
In roaming, i.e. upon arrival in Turkey, your phone will automatically connect to the Turkish operator if the phone automatically searches for a network (see instructions on the kyivstar website http://www.kyivstar.ua/ru/mm/mobile/roaming/information/settings/) .
It must be remembered that you also pay for the incoming call, i.e. from the moment you answer the call, you are charged according to the tariff (in this case, 12 UAH per 1 minute).
In general, there are many options:
- communication in roaming from your Ukrainian phone,
- communication via Skype from a computer, tablet or "advanced" phone via free Turkish WI-Fi,
- calls on a SIM card from international operators TravelSim and other similar ones (travel agencies sell SIM cards, they also take account replenishment);
- Turkish phone sim cards mob. operators or cards for talking on a local pay phone. They are sold in shops, and some guides trade,
the truth is more expensive.
In my opinion, the most expensive option is roaming. Choose :) Have a good rest!!!
