on vacation in Turkey, I often encounter inappropriate behavior of our tourists. This time our tourist picked up a whole mountain of oranges and crushed oranges into a glass with his hands for himself and his wife .. so as not to pay for freshly squeezed juice ... there were still ladies who tried to endure breakfast three plates of scrambled eggs .. interesting in other countries, our tourists behave the same way?

It all depends on "our" tourist)))) How he used to behave. I will say that I also observed such cases when they sit at breakfast and collect sausages, cheese, sweets in a bag. We didn’t eat enough)))) But I didn’t see whole plates ....))) There are waiters who turn a blind eye to this, and it happens that even a few fruits cannot be taken out.

observed in Egypt and Turkey.

Often seen in Egypt
although I had more than enough.

I don’t know about sausage, but we took fruits and cookies with us if we go on an excursion with children.

They also remove whole vegetables from decorations from vegetable tables in order to take them home.
And I also saw how they collected a full plate of butter packs for soup.
And the young guys also swore, why did they cut the oranges. To my remark, do you care what they are, they answered: Are we going to take the cut ones home?

What do you think? If there are already hotels on popular routes that are not sold for the CIS, and some countries restrict the stay of our compatriots. Bali, as far as I know, is already in shock from this invasion.
Any tourist will find a funny story about Russians on vacation on every trip :)
аватар sandra-art
these are not ours, this is an echo of the "Soviet Union".
here I once rested with my aunt and cousin, so she dragged breakfast to our room, quarreling first with everyone who tried to block her way from the restaurant and explain that it was impossible to take out food. you that - that her daughter and the niece remained hungry? how can that be! they were at the disco, they came late, they get up, they want to eat, and breakfast is already over ...
and yet - when I saw what a bag of food she collected on the day of departure under the motto "what if the plane is delayed," I almost fainted. but it was fun to relax with her - I pumped up my press from laughter.
and about oranges - I also squeeze juice into my glass with my hands and it’s not my fault that at breakfast for fresh juice there is a kilometer line and antediluvian 2 juicers. and the Germans showed me this example. I might not have thought of it myself.
although I have a negative attitude towards tourists who do not pour wine from barrels into glasses for themselves, but drink it like “from a tap”.
I saw this in a hotel. or wallow in saunas or near bars, and their children run without hats with sunburn on the territory, disturbing the rest of the vacationers. seen this often.
аватар sandra-art
but the Germans also have enough examples like "I came to the beach at 6 o'clock in the morning, threw a towel and appeared there only after lunch." so everyone has their quirks

And I also saw how a company of "dear ladies" of Soviet origin brought a huge dish of food to their table, which was designed for everyone - and this happens.

A certain kind of people behave the same everywhere - whether on vacation, in a restaurant, in a hairdresser, in a store, in a travel agency ...

By the way, about juices, I saw the same from the Germans. And I can squeeze the juice with my hands without any problems. I think that there is nothing shameful in this. But about the fact that carrying plates of food into the room or putting a common dish on your table is yes - a sign of lack of culture and disrespect for yourself and others.
From personal experience there was a case on the way back from Pamukkale stopped for dinner. Naturally buffet. So, there was a dish with meat. So some apparently very smart mother (you can’t call it otherwise), put her two daughters (16-18 years old) in front of the dish and brought empty plates to them so that they put meat there. At the same time, I try so that no one pushes her precious girls away from the cherished dish. On the one hand, it was funny to watch, and on the other hand, it was very embarrassing and unpleasant. One gets the feeling that the main purpose of the stay of this wonderful family is to eat meat for the year ahead.

I will also tell you a story in Turkey. I had a chance to go on a jeep safari with the British. There were 6 of us and I was the only Russian speaker. So, at the entrance to Alanya, we were brought to a plantation with medlar, mulberry and oranges. There was a sea of oranges. I so wanted to break them, but the thought of what the British would think of the Russians prevented me from doing this. Suddenly, one of the "imported" people climbed a hillock and began to tear oranges. Well, everything, I think, since they are tearing, then you can. In general, I and another lady of about 50 climbed this hill and began to tear oranges. They plucked 5-6 pieces, and more do not fit in the hands. They stand and watch, because I had to go down with them. And my passion began. I tore off about 10 pieces and began to put them in a T-shirt. And imagine, the British began to repeat after me and say that they themselves would not have thought of this.
In general, one should have seen the face of the Turkish guide when we, such handsome men (with a mountain of oranges in T-shirts), began to go down. ))))))

And here some are specifically interested in what hotels in Turkey can bring food to the room, in addition to ultra, well, people like to eat at night in bed :))))))
аватар sandra-art
Well, you don't have to eat at night. you can go in the morning if you are too lazy to go to breakfast.
in Alanya in San Stare you can freely take out. there is one request from the staff - then take out the plates on the table in the common corridor.
Yes, and I read a lot of reviews where it was written that making food without problems.

The habit of "grabbing food" is present in low-star hotels. In expensive prestigious hotels, such behavior of tourists is rather an exception to the rule (although all sorts of types are found :))) Or it is observed in the first 2-3 days, until newcomers realize that no one is going to overeat them, and there is enough food for everyone. I am always surprised to see how a fragile girl 150 cm tall puts 6-7 chicken legs on a plate, not counting other food! This year I was in a 5 * family hotel in Kemer, where there are heaps of children and caring parents, but I did not observe such a desire to eat for future use! The exception was strawberries and cherries, which were taken on plates for children (on the verer, or the next morning) in fairly moderate quantities.

Thank you for your stories, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.
аватар Tory69
Oh yeah!!! Russish kulturish)))) it’s funny, but when I wrote in the comments that Russians are mostly cattle (there are, of course, normal ones), they started to run into me, like that I don’t like my brothers so much. May Turkey, Egypt, etc. forgive us. etc.))))
аватар jabetta
I would correct: not only Russians, but all "ours".
аватар Tory69
agree)
аватар Katyyy
jabetta, and so it is clear that under the "Russian" in the eyes of foreigners stands all the CIS :)
аватар jabetta
This is understandable, but we are not foreigners, therefore, sometimes disputes and even quarrels on national grounds arise because of such nuances, but we really do not want them.

What's the difference between Russians (as you call "all ours") or foreigners. I have worked with British, Australians, Serbs, Canadians and many other foreigners. From my personal experience I know how they can behave. Believe me, I have never seen such behavior among our people. Sometimes it seems that they have not been taught good manners. And the maid girls cried when they saw what they turned hotel rooms into. I always thought before that the English are the CULTURE ITSELF. Our men (ordinary hard workers) do not allow themselves this and behave more adequately. Maybe in Russia it's different, I don't know, but in Northern Kazakhstan it's exactly like that. So that in any country there are ill-mannered individuals who dishonor the whole country ... ..

January-2010 Egypt-Sharm El Sheikh. Hotel SOL Y MAR. When my relatives left, I saw such a picture. There were quite a few tourists leaving. The bus stood and waited, and I said goodbye to my relatives. such people did not hand over the number. A husband and wife at the age of about 40 from Moscow. So they explained mine to me. We rested for 2 weeks on all inclusive. that there was no towel in the room. And if they don’t hand it over, they need to pay for it, and they have 5 minutes for everything. And then the bus will leave the hotel. It could be assumed that the towel was lost, BUT what happened next plunged everyone. The woman took her luggage from the bus, opened her suitcase and took out a towel from there, and then a sheet. The sheet was not new washed and its color was no longer white but grayish. And she returned the stolen to the hotel. So tell me why do this?
A 2-week all-inclusive tour was not worth the stolen towel and sheets, but the reputation of the Russians ???
аватар Zlata28
food stories are all the costs of "all incl.", IMHO
In general, I agree that sometimes it’s so embarrassing for our compatriots ...
observed the picture in Turkey:
"our" hiding in the hands under the table
drained olive oil in a restaurant
in pre-prepared (did you bring chtol from home?) half-liter eggplants))))))))
аватар aisha_sharm
Towel, sheet, oil. How much money do these things cost to dishonor not ourselves, but all of us?
Tourists once boasted to me that they had collected a full suitcase of toilet paper. Excuse me, maybe I don’t understand something, that a roll of paper in Russia costs more than a tour abroad ???

sandra-art, Just don't talk about the "echo of the Soviet Union"
These are all the charms of the collapse of this and the 90s in particular. Figley, all "bright personalities" felt freedom from human behavior, and the phrase "everything is paid for!" elevated to a cult.
PS. I was raised in the Soviet Union - and I'm proud of it.
аватар sandra-art
dear - we read the given example.
I didn’t write that the young zhrachki are gaining in bags and trying to endure.
I described a situation in which a mother takes care of her daughter and niece and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.
and in general - what if, for example, my husband twisted his leg and cannot come to eat - why should he lie hungry in the room? no - I'll bring him food. and then I will read reviews to myself that they say wild people take food out of the restaurant, etc.
аватар volkis
Well, we read :), and so: "these are not ours, this is an echo of the" Soviet Union "..."
What is this phrase referring to? What did my aunt do with the "echo of the Soviet Union?! Or to the previous comments?
The connection between the Soviet Union and the behavior of "our tourists" is absolutely incomprehensible. Maybe it was Comrade Stalin himself who taught the bourgeoisie to steal food from the canteen?! :)))
аватар sandra-art
Stalin, Lenin and who else taught that lunch should be on schedule. and if provided breakfast-lunch-dinner. You have to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner!
I rested in Soviet children's camps and sanatoriums. and from there I remember that if someone did not come to a meal, then this very food should be brought to him.
here's an "echo" for you.
аватар volkis
Everything is correct - according to the schedule, they taught discipline :))) But "breakfast in bed" is philistinism, behavior not worthy of a "Soviet person" :)))
But at the expense of the thesis: "if someone did not come to the meal, then this very food should be brought to him" - I am tormented by vague doubts. Of course, I am familiar with the area where it was, but there it is never a manifestation of care. :)))
