Is it worth hanging around in a hotel on the last day if the plane is late in the evening?
We have a return flight from Antalya late in the evening. Check-out from the hotel is standard at 12. It is clear that you can continue to poke around the hotel until the transfer to the airport, as many do. But there is a question. Is it worth it? Maybe it's better to leave the hotel at 12, get to the airport and there you can leave your luggage and go for a walk around Antalya. How wrong am I?

In my opinion, it is more logical to get to the bus station and leave the luggage there. From the bus station it is much easier to get to the center of Antalya, for example, by tram. It takes much longer to get from the airport to the airport.

Of course, it’s worth it, at least to get to Hadrian’s Gate, to walk to the clock tower. I wouldn’t wait 12 hours, I would have washed off to Antalya earlier.

Igor_m Can you tell me what is worth seeing in Antalya besides the clock tower and the gate? We are with children 9 and 6 years old and big races around the city may not work. But I want to see more.

ollennka And what bus station are we talking about? Or is he alone?

The Toy Museum, the Suna-Inan Kıraç Kaleici Museum, the Antalya Museum - everything is close to one another, everything is in the old city. I have always been in Antalya for no more than one day, but five times and always walked with my wife through the narrow streets, going into everything, what came along the way.

timofeus I will support everyone.
Not far from Belek.
Luggage - yes, it is better to leave at the airport. / Were you told which terminal is back? It is important.
Then - take a taxi 20 euros - to the old town.
Or HAVAS - walk 2 blocks to the old town.
Or minibus / Dolmush / No. 600. This option - you will reach, directly, to Kalecha.
How so ? To be close to Antalya and not visit such a beautiful city?

I have already found information about the AntRay tram, which runs from the airport to the city and back, so I sort of solved the question of how to get there.

I will now study the map and plan a route around the city.

Fine !
On the map, it's very close.
And it seemed to me so far, on foot, to Kalecha ...
But it's great there!

Well, I do not share the general euphoria. What prevents you from devoting one day of your vacation to Antalya? Why do you have to wait for the last day and how stung you are to rush first with luggage, then quickly try to see all the museums ... On the last day, all this is clearly not necessary. I don't understand the previous tips...

Author, if I were you, I would look at the situation. Your flight can be easily rescheduled from evening to early morning. Now it's all over the place

I agree with Alexander, it’s better to spend one day during a vacation than on the last day with luggage and children “galloping around Europe”, IMHO is suitable as an option for young people moving lightly, and even then you need to orientate yourself on the ground, and that is a sad experience exploring the city before an evening flight, when they got lost and almost missed the registration, saving money all day moving to the OT, and at the finish line they dumped a hefty amount for a taxi, since the plane would not wait.

have the experience of walking around the city all day before flying out. everything went fine, then in one place they were forced to linger. in the end, as if stung, they flew to the airport, afraid to miss the plane. before the closing of the registration for 30 seconds came running. I still remember that run with horror. so we went with a student company, and you have children.
leave your bags in the storage room and relax calmly on the last day, sunbathe on the beach. the main thing is that they don’t cut off your bracelets at 12.

the day of arrival - the day of departure is always troublesome and tiring. Four hours at the airport, almost all the time on my feet. And if you also wander around the city all day before that ... Poor children. Even if you do not renew the number, no one will cut off the bracelets from you. All day in the hotel all the infrastructure is at your service. You can relax on the beach, take a normal shower and change clothes in the hotel's SPA center (there are showers, changing rooms, and a hairdryer). Why put off visiting Antalya and walking around this city until the last day? And why get on your nerves and torment your children (I myself have two, 9 and 5 years old - I understand what I'm talking about) all day long crossings? as for me - a very dubious pleasure

I will answer everyone at once. Of course, I am aware of the possibility of transferring a flight back and forth, I just got used to planning in advance. Reschedule the flight to another time - ok, no problem. I don’t worry about the possibility of getting lost in the city and being late for the airport, the compass in my head has never failed, and no one is going to walk around the city to the last. Our "poor children" will give odds to any adult in terms of endurance and the desire to dangle around the city, also not a problem. Well, I also do not rule out devoting one day of rest to a trip to Antalya for a walk, but you can also visit the city twice and take a leisurely look. In any case, I heard everyone, thank you all for your opinion and experience.

It would be very nice if you became a guide for children and yourself, having looked through the Internet a little, remembering the main thing about the city and the places where they will bring their feet. Children and adults never notice fatigue if they are interested. At the age of five, my youngest granddaughter climbed Hoverla on her own, holding the hand of her older (11 years old) sister, who had already made the trip to the top for the second time. Antalya is much easier to walk around.

timofeus, the main bus station, from which the Antray tram route starts.
аватар timofeus
ollennka I looked at the map and the bus station is located on the opposite side of the city center. It will be closer to us from the airport.
аватар ollennka
timofeus, so you are not on the bus, will you go by taxi?
аватар timofeus
ollennka Everything, now I understand you. If you go by bus from the hotel, then your logic is clear. This is what I missed out on. I don't know yet, by bus or by taxi. We will see on the spot what is there from the hotel.
