It is a well-known fact that rest is not only good, but also useful, especially for a rapidly growing children's body. Therefore, the question of the need to travel to the sea with a five-year-old son did not even stand.
And having received the approval of our pediatrician, they took their one-year-old daughter with them.
Having stepped on the throat of their habit of short-term trips (you must admit, after the 5-7th day of idleness, the vacation starts to be a great burden), and, having heeded the reasonable arguments of the children's doctor about the need to adapt the kids, they allocated 2 weeks for rest.
Finding a hotel is a separate saga, after all, living with two children, and in order to have a comfortable rest with them, you know, you need to try. And not so much to parents as to the staff of the host hotel. A long and very meticulous choice ended in favor of the Melas Lara 5 * hotel, which is still little known in the post-Soviet space.

The hotel is mainly visited by couples from England, Holland, Germany and German pensioners - the public is dignified and intelligent.
Based on the results of the vacation, the conclusion is unequivocal: we made the right choice!
The tour, like all the previous ones, we bought in the "Galop across Europe" (now they are in the process of rebranding and merging into the European network of TA "TUI"). Here is my big “Thank you! » managers of the agency, who once again conscientiously and, most importantly, sincerely, dealt with our documents.
Only Tez Tour works for the desired hotel, so there was no rushing about when and with whom to fly. There was, of course, a certain amount of doubts about Dneproavia, the Tezov carrier ...But, in principle, the flight on a strong Yak there and on a Boeing 737 back, with edible hot lunches on the way, went quickly and pleasantly. In the early (6.20) departure there is one, but a significant plus - the first day of rest - completely yours. In the early return flight (10.25) - the same minus
.
For those who will fly with a small child: for a long time I was worried about the issue of a baby stroller - to take it or not to take it, where to put it when flying ...Kind people helped on the forum, I might help you: definitely take a stroller, even take the child to the sea come in handy, and if you go shopping, even more so! Yes, and at the airport 2 hours in the arms of a sleepy toddler can not stand. When you check in your luggage, a separate ticket is given for the stroller, but the “technical equipment” itself remains under the child. And only at the gangway of the plane the stewardess will pick him up. Upon arrival, you pick up the stroller from the tape (in Antalya) or at the gangway (in Kyiv).
As for nutrition, I had a 200-gram can of puree, a bag of juice and a bottle of water in my purse. The airport employee clarified whether it was baby food and gave it without further ado to be carried on board. So the crumbs do not remain hungry, no one takes anything away.
The children also endured the flight absolutely calmly, the youngest, in general, slept for 2.5 hours.

At the Antalya airport, we bought visas for ourselves and children in half an hour (by the way, taking into account the current exchange rate, it is more profitable to buy for 20 Euros than for 30 dollars), we went through passport control and took away our suitcases. At the exit + 33o and Tez Tour staff. They showed us where the minibus is (the cars are new and with air conditioning), they gave us advertising leaflets, and wished us a good rest. In the car of the same vacationers there were 2 more couples and an aunt post of Balzac age, whom everyone together waited for 15 minutes - either she got stuck in the dutik, or she was looking for suitcases for a long time.
The first plus of the hotel became obvious in 15 minutes - after the first couple was dropped off at the Dolphin, Melas appeared - and the children were just getting ready to “ride” ...5 minutes for registration (the 20 bucks put between the pages of the passport were returned to us) and, leaving the suitcases at the reception, let's go to breakfast.
There is a Russian girl at the reception, it seems Natasha, she solved all questions instantly, for which many thanks to her.
Next to the reception desk is a Tez Tour table. His guides Lena and Manzura daily from 10 to 15 (and often up to 17-18 hours) are at the service of their tourists.
After returning from the restaurant, we received the keys (cards) and at 11 a. m. we were already in the room, no one was going to keep us in the lobby until the legal 2 p. m.
ROOM.
The hotel is new, accepting guests only the second season. Therefore, all construction imperfections (if any) have already been fixed, and breakdowns due to wear, of course, will not appear soon. The building consists of minus the ground floor (main restaurant, shops, spa), ground floor (lobby bar, confectionery, Turkish a la carte restaurant, reception) and 10 residential floors. Each residential floor has 3 wings with 10-12 rooms.
The windows of one wing look simultaneously at the sea and the neighboring Saturn 5 *, the second - at the sea and the Royal Holidey 5 * under construction, the third - only at neighboring hotels and a tiny corner of the sea.

Our room (1408) is on the 4th floor and has a view of the sea, the pool, the stage (the evening performance was viewed with a bang). The Royal Holiday Hotel, which is also under construction, is located in our field of vision and does not cause any inconvenience or aesthetic complaints: all the high-profile work, as I understand it, has long been completed, now the external design of the building is underway. At the same time, the entire unfinished iron-concrete structure is covered with beige panels. Therefore, I repeat, the construction site, which is scary on some sites, is now absolutely safe and noiseless for a relaxing holiday.
And after the opening of this giant hotel (Melas is simply lost against its background), which is scheduled for April next year, the view from the windows will become even more presentable.
The neighboring Saturn does not spoil the view either.
Between him and "Melas" is an empty site, which, probably, sooner or later will turn into a construction site. In winter, it is probably not very pleasing to the eye, but in warm weather it joyfully buoys with greenery.
The balcony is very big. The number is 2 meters long and 2 meters wide.
The room itself is beyond praise: spacious, functional and tasteful. The floor is laminate, the walls are leather and stone: imagine, very beautiful! 3 shifted beds and a crib-playpen, a table, two armchairs, bedside tables, a mirror in a third of the wall, a lot of lighting fixtures: a wall lamp, a floor lamp, table lamps, there is also light on the balcony. Refrigerator-mini-bar replenished every day. Even if a “Do not disturb” sign was hung on the door during the delivery of drinks, the employee found time to convey everything later. In the bar: 2 cans of beer, 2 mineral waters with gas, 2 liter bottles of still water and one liter of Coca-Cola and Sprite. Naturally, for free.
In addition, there is a kettle and a complete set for tea and coffee drinking: dishes, bags of various tea, coffee, cream, sugar. Again, replenished daily.
The TV is a large plasma TV, there are 3 Russian channels and 1 Ukrainian (not the most popular "Channel 5", but for watching news "from the Motherland" it will do).
The air conditioning works well, just remember to leave the card in the slot when leaving the room.
In the hallway there is a spacious closet, a free digital safe.

The bathroom is spacious and bright, with a Jacuzzi and a window into the room (you can close the blinds). Changed: bathrobes - as needed, ALL bathroom towels - daily, and bed linen - every other day. Towels for the beach are changed in the SPA or at the sea, for a fee, 1 euro. Bathroom cosmetics sets were replenished as needed, there are always 2 bottles of shampoos, 2 shower gels (approximately 25 ml each), 2 mini soaps, 2 caps and 3 rolls of toilet paper.
Shampoo and gel are of good quality and smell pleasant enough, you can not take it with you. But it doesn’t hurt to grab a hair balm and body cream / milk - the water is harsh, and hair and skin need to be protected
Cleaning - no complaints, every day, for 20-30 minutes, the maid diligently rips out each room. Every day they left 1-2 dollars - not in order to clean better, but because she was very conscientious.
TERRITORY.
As a rule, this hotel is accused of lacking a small territory and poor landscaping. On the first point - if you need kilometer-long alleys for exercise, then Melas Lara will not work. We had enough distance from the building to the sea to work up an appetite before dinner, and we didn’t have to look for children for a long time. On the second point, the hotel staff is working on it. Everywhere there are a lot of flowers, restless gardeners plant something for days, replant, renew, correct. The trees are still small.
There are a couple of dozen fairly large palms, but the rest of the plants are about my height, although in a couple of years it will be great. On the way to the beach, mulberry trees are planted, which, despite their miniature size, are already bearing fruit.
The entire territory is conventionally divided into the hotel building itself; a bizarrely shaped swimming pool, divided with a large meadow (with pavilions, a shooting range, a court), a bar and a stage; a children's playground (slide, sandbox and swings) and the beach area, beginning with a bar and an auxiliary building (shower, WC, storage of sun loungers and mattresses).
The pools (large + paddling pool + near the water slides, of which there are 3, and all of them are very unchildish; ) are very clean, chlorine, of course, is felt, but not catastrophically. In the evening it is all beautifully illuminated from the inside.
During the day, near the pools, people in bathing suits are poured into plastic glasses (for safety reasons).

Those who just sit at the tables are served drinks in glassware. In the evening, all drinks are in glasses and glasses, no disposable containers.
Almost immediately, at the exit from the hotel, there is another playground, or I don’t know how to call it more correctly: there is a house, a pipe - a caterpillar, a horse, a fish and an elephant - rocking chairs, a large machine - a designer. There is also a mini-club.
RESTAURANTS. NUTRITION.
Nutrition is my sore subject: to bring 3 extra pounds in 2 weeks of rest, you know…
The main restaurant is one, very spacious, divided by walls into several halls, there are tables on the street, very close to the pool.
Breakfast from 6 to 10, lunch (late breakfast) from 10 to 11, lunch from 12 to 14.30, dinner from 19 to 21, and then until midnight - late dinner. To say that the food is varied is to say nothing. The choice is overwhelming.
In the morning - a dozen types of vegetables, sliced sausage - ham - cheese, canned tuna, all kinds of snacks: muesli, cereals, nuts, dried fruits. Yoghurts, milk, fruits. Fried sausages and sausages, scrambled eggs, scrambled eggs, Scandinavian croutons, boiled eggs. On request, an omelet will be prepared for you here with the ingredients of your choice (mushrooms, vegetables, sausage, etc. ). A sea of fresh pastries: rolls, buns, envelopes, baguettes and baguettes, hot croissants...You can use the toaster. Fruits fresh and canned.
Jams, butter, margarine - in portion packs.
There was always one or two milk porridges (semolina, oatmeal) that can be fed to children. In general, a child can order milk or kefir throughout the day.
Orange fresh - no restrictions. True, at times he seemed a little diluted.
Lunch is almost the same, the choice is only slightly smaller.
Lunch and dinner - 2 different soups: mushroom, tomato, vegetable, with milk ...in the evening it is more often mashed soup.
Side dishes are also for different tastes: rice, pilaf, french fries and baked whole in foil, mashed potatoes, roasts, spaghetti, pasta, ravioli ...

A lot of meat: chicken, turkey, lamb, beef - in different forms, from tiny meatballs to kebabs, rolls and kebabs. Steamed, grilled, baked or stewed vegetables with meat. Several dozen salads and the same number of raw, pickled or lightly salted vegetables. Fish. It is always there and there is always a lot of it - empty containers are instantly replaced.
In mid-May, there is already a mountain of fruit: strawberries were not measured. Watermelons, melons, apricots, apples, oranges, kiwis, grapefruits, bananas...Eat - I don't want to.
No problem with taking a couple of apples or oranges with you. Particularly zealous Russian mothers took a plate of strawberries and sandwiches to their children - not very nice, but the staff only smiled politely.
On certain days of the week, additionally themed dishes.
So, on Monday, they offer a cheese table for dinner. Friday - barbecue. Saturday night - sushi menu. Sunday is fish evening.
Serve quickly. We did not see any difference in attitude towards Germans or Russians, British or Turks.
And after leaving a tip for the waiters a couple of times, we were always served at lightning speed. Conclusion: nothing to spare a couple of bucks if you want to get your drinks faster;
Drinks: champagne is offered for breakfast, for lunch and dinner we ordered dry white local wine - very much even nothing.
After breakfast, the pool bar starts working - cocktails, juices, ice cream, teas, coffee - without restrictions, free of charge. Drinks are partly imported, partly Turkish, but of good quality. "Baileys" is their brand, I can definitely determine this;
The same goes for the beach bar.
After lunch in the bars you can have a snack: pizza, hamburgers, chicken, sweets, fruits.
On the ground floor there is a pastry shop and a lobby bar: nothing special, but the surroundings are pleasant. There is also a “rest room” with chess, several dozen books left by visitors and very comfortable armchairs;
INFRASTRUCTURE.
The hotel has a shopping mall of 5 shops: silver, gold, textiles, leather and mini-manufactured goods (souvenirs, sweets, toys, inflatable rubbish for the pool, hygiene products - wild prices).

Leather and gold stores are representative. If you want leather or gold, then the owners take you to the shopping center (leather and gold) from which they are represented in the hotel. Buy, as elsewhere, you do not have to.
We went and bought men's and women's autumn jackets. For two it turned out $ 700, they knew how to bargain, they bought it for 500 -600;
In any case, it will NOT be cheaper in Kyiv, and the models are not beaten.
Textiles in the hotel are expensive and the choice is zero. Who needs it, it is better to buy in the shopping center "Dipo" (bus 103 from the hotel, 20 minutes to go).
We usefully spent several hours there, buying all sorts of clothes for the kids. As for me, the prices are Kyiv, the quality is the same. But Muscovites deep prices seemed like a ball.
Near the shops - a photo studio. Photographers scurry around the hotel all day and take pictures, take pictures, take pictures. But unobtrusively. If you like something, photos for $ 7 are done instantly
15 minutes walk (towards the airport), at a distance of 5 meters from each other, there are two small shopping centers (Kundu Bazar and some other bazaar). As an alternative to the hotel store - they will do. Here we bought souvenirs, sweets for a gift, and, in a fit of shopping addiction, completely unnecessary T-shirts for 5 euros
SPA, wellness.
It is worth visiting the Turkish bath at least once - a beautiful marble hammam is conducive to relaxation. Free of charge and a sauna, and a gym, a large swimming pool and a children's pool, massage rooms.
We were at the beginning of the season, so the employees were ready for any discount, just to lure customers to paid treatments like massages and beauty treatments.
A complex of SPA services, consisting of 1 standard session for Turkey (hamam-peeling-foam massage) and 6 half-hour medical massages costs 164 euros. To those who hesitate, it is happily given for $150.
Separately, I will express respect to the masseuse Yolan (it seems so, I called her in our own way: Olya) - the girl’s hands are golden! After the massage, I flew.
ENTERTAINMENT. ANIMATION.

Just the kind we would like to see in a family hotel, vacationing with children. The animators are unobtrusive, but they always found something to do for those who wish. The chief of animators is a separate song, I got the impression that he is ready to have fun all day and jump around the stage, even if there are no vacationers at all  I say this in a good way - the man is a real "lighter".
An evening children's disco was led by a Turkish woman, Chise, who also worked with children in a mini-club. The Russian Lena appeared several times, but she practically did not take part in the amusements of the children and Chise. My five-year-old son liked it, he spent days at the club, but children aged 8-10 will be clearly bored.
From 21.30 - evening show. Everything is decent, without vulgarity. But without fanaticism. At 23 o'clock it is already quiet and grace. Disco (from 23 to 2 - in the hotel hall, so we did not hear any noise from it). I repeat: as for a couple with small children, such an animation activity was the most acceptable. The youth will probably feel sad here.
WEATHER.
The weather was pleasant: it was warm, but not hot. For 2 weeks - half a gloomy day and twice at night it rained. We swam in the sea every day.
