Yes, go to Alanya itself (a good Archaeological Museum, Damlatas cave). Dim Cave is not far from Mahmutlar (a grandiose sight-15 lira entrance). We didn’t have time to go to Sarigerme Canyon, but it’s worth a visit.

I was looking for the Sarigerme Canyon, but Google gives out only a village with that name but near Dalaman. Did you mean Sapadere Canyon? Thanks, just interesting firsthand and not from a guidebook

Yes, I looked into the brochure of the Sapadere travel agency. They say it’s beautiful there, we were on a jeep safari, but they didn’t take us there.

The Red Tower, it would be nice to visit the southernmost point of Turkey Anamur - there is a lighthouse, ruins, a good beach, the view from the top point is awesome. Jeep safari in the Sapadere canyon as advised by babol. The canyon is located about 40 km east of Alanya.

There is nothing special in Mahmutlar itself, it is better to go to Alanya itself. There you can see not only the Red Tower, but the entire fortress. Not a single day can be spent on studying it; shipyard, caves, port.

I agree, there is nothing at all in Mahmutlar, there is nowhere to go at all, we really did not like this town, despite the good hotel.
