Tell me, please, is it worth going to Turkey in May? How is the weather there?
There is a possibility of a vacation in May, I want to go to Turkey - but I doubt it - will it still be cool there? Is the sea warm at this time?

We also go on vacation to Turkey in May - at the end of the month. I was also interested in this issue, because we are flying with children, will there be cold water ... Everyone wrote to me that the water is warm after May 25-27, the water rate -23-24gr, and the air is under 30. Therefore, I conclude that you don’t need to go before May 25. We fly out on May 26.

My husband and I were last year in Belek for a week from May 17th. The air was up to 30-35 degrees. The water in the sea is really cool - about 20-22. I still swam, but my husband preferred a pool with water at 24-25 degrees.
So we liked it. In the evening, you really need to wear a blouse with long sleeves. And it’s very cool! :)

If you are not a very cold person or are ready for invigorating freshness when entering the sea, it’s worth it, otherwise it’s better to wait for June, the water in mid-May is about 20, although Alanya is the dumbest resort in Turkey.
At this time I would advise better Egypt

In Alanya in May the weather is already normal. We flew 21.05.05-31.05.05 and 17.05.07-01.06.07 exactly to Alanya. It was hot and the sea was warm, not like in August of course (fresh milk), but not for cold people either. It is in Kemer in May the sea is icy, but in Alanya everything is fine. We are flying there May 22nd.

In May (in the second half of the month) you can go to Turkey, but for reinsurance to a warmer resort - Alanya.

Well, it’s not true that in Kemer the water is icy in May, last year we went from May 10 and the water was + 21-22 degrees, and the air was 28-30! Yes, maybe it’s cooler than in Belek, Side, Alanya, since in Kemer the mountains are right next to the sea and the sun sets early, at 17 o’clock, because the sea is less and the land warms up. In general, in May it is very beautiful in Turkey and we are comfortable with the temperature for a vacation with a child, so this year we are also flying in May!

Well, apparently year after year does not fall. We were in Kemer at the end of May in 2002. It was raining, maybe that's why the sea seemed icy?

go without hesitation!!! in May, Turkey is tender and warm))) the sun warms with might and main, but there is no such stuffiness as, for example, in August, the water is refreshing, if you are not afraid to swim in the water of 17-19 degrees - I give the green light))))

Yes, yes and again YES!!! The end of May - the beginning of June in Turkey is a fairy tale. The weather is lovely, the sea is excellent. There is no such heat as in July. There is a light warm breeze, but this is only good. And if you're lucky with the hotel, it's generally super. Yes, and in Pamukkale just in this period it’s the most to go on an excursion. I personally adore Turkey in May.

tell me, I'm going to Turkey in early May, do you think it's worth going at this time? who was?
аватар sunsmile1
I was. May 2006. At the very beginning, somewhere from May 2 to May 9. I needed a LOT of rest. Didn't expect anything, but still. Kemer. During the day I always went with short sleeves, in the evening I wore a sweater / light jacket. I swam in the sea 2-3 times on different days. Feels like 18-19gr in water. And about 21-25 in the afternoon. To make it clearer, I’ll write this: when summer comes in Russia, everyone rejoices and already at 20 degrees they go in T-shirts and will definitely climb into the nearest river at the first opportunity. In Turkey in early May, this is exactly what it is. It’s just that usually we go to a resort for real warmth, so that it warms up, but here it’s just warm. For those who really need to relax, it’s quite suitable, and yes, no one has yet canceled good pools with warm water, even though we are still going overseas. For those who can wait, it's best to wait until early June or September. In September it was also - in Side - the velvet season. Good choice!
