We sat down to read reviews about Gold and decided to add something or tell our impressions about this hotel.
Last September we vacationed as a family with two children. This year we booked Gold City for June.
So, first things first, the hotel is very far from the airport, and the Gold City Hotel will most likely be the last one on the bus. The travel agent who sold us the tour immediately warned us about this. We searched for a long time on the website for how to order a taxi so as not to end up paying a lot of money with taxi drivers who stand at the entrance and entice you to go with them))) we found several transfer options, in the end we ordered from Alik on VK, which we were very pleased with. Unlike others, he does not need to transfer money anywhere as an advance payment. Payment upon delivery near the hotel. The car was great, it was a Mercedes.
We got to the hotel in about 2 hours, while our transfer arrived 2.5 hours later. Perhaps it's the traffic jams.
Check-in.
We checked in almost immediately, the wait was about 15 minutes, including the time to fill out the form, photocopy passports and put on bracelets.
Hotel area and rooms.
The area is very clean, they clean it constantly and it seems that the cleaning process does not stop. The rooms were cleaned just at the time when we left for breakfast, and then to the beach, arriving at about 12:30 everything was cleaned, there were a lot of towels, the bed was changed in 8 days, exactly 2 times, maybe even 3.
Nutrition.
I’ve been to premium hotels, and the food is different from this one, but the price tag is also radically different.
For me, it has always been important to have fresh vegetables, cheeses and any meat or chicken, but the main thing is not minced meat. You will find all this, and in great variety. There are also quite a lot of side dishes. The kids took fries. Sweets, like everywhere else, there are probably a lot of them in Turkey, they are too sweet and taste the same.
Alcohol
Upon arrival at Antalya airport, since we didn’t have much time to rush to the group transfer, and our driver was waiting for us, we ran into duty, the prices were basically normal, there was a martini on offer for about 12 euros, my husband took Chivas whiskey. The hotel also has alcohol, but we won’t risk drinking a mixture. We only took beer during the day.
Swimming pool, sea and sunbeds!
Here, probably like in any hotel) every self-respecting resident of the CIS seems to consider it his duty to take the sunbeds and disappear to God knows where for the whole day) I have heard scandals more than once because of this. But we went to the sea, although in this region we later realized the worst beaches in Turkey. Apart from Cleopatra Beach in the center of Alanya.
Excursions and leisure.
The hotel is located, so to speak, on a mountain, and of course you shouldn’t assume that when you go outside the hotel there’s a huge beautiful promenade waiting for you, we didn’t know about this when we went.
Therefore, I had to take a taxi to walk along busy streets, run to supermarkets and buy souvenirs cheaper than at excursion sites. We studied excursions in advance, at the same time we were looking for a transfer. In the end, we decided to take a yacht tour, we rode on a large pirate ship from about 10 to 15-16, on the yacht there was a light lunch, drinks, Music, dancing, a foam party and the children were entertained by pirates.
The yacht tour was purchased from the same Alik as the transfer. If you need his link, write, I’ll add it in the comments. We highly recommend it. If you take from him, pass it on from tourists from Kemerovo! He is very kind and sympathetic, and most importantly, a person who does his job well.
So, to summarize, are we satisfied with the choice of hotel - definitely yes, for us the main thing is cleanliness, availability of fresh food and good weather - that's all we got. And this year we are going to gold again.

Meat dishes are few, mostly they gave chicken in all forms. Salads drenched in mayonnaise. I don't know who liked them. We didn't get in.
Desserts are absolutely terrible. Yesterday's cakes, cut like brownies, breakfast croissants, chocolate-covered morning cereal cake!
Of course, I understand that throwing away food is bad, there is no need to make a bunch of tasteless cakes that no one eats and then cut them the next day. It looks bad and cheap.
Of course on Fridays they gave crayfish and sushi. Sushi is terribly tasteless and dry. Cancers have come to people, we are not their fans.

At the reception, there is no air conditioning completely, or in order to save money, it is very rarely turned on, the heat is unbearable.
It is not possible to drive in the elevator, the elevators are large up to about 8-10 people, if you survive high, then you will die of stuffiness until you reach the elevator, as there is not only air conditioning in the elevator, but the fan does not work either. And the elevator is always driven by a carpenter, 8 people for sure.
The glass in the elevators has probably not been washed since the beginning of the season, it’s not very pleasant to drive like in a dirty pipe.
The furniture at the reception is old and terrible, it's not clear where they got it from, but it's better in 3 stars.
Dirt in the hotel everywhere!
It is generally not clear when they wash it, for a week of my stay, I have never encountered cleaning in public places.
Complete glut of people. Since the hotel has owners of rooms (who bought the property) and these are probably 80% of the entire hotel. They come in families of 10 people in one room. Thus pandemonium everywhere! At the reception, in the toilet, in the pool for a week I did not manage to find a sunbed. To do this, you must get up at 7 in the morning.
As for food, that's a different story.
One gets the impression that the staff considers people to be cattle and gives out food on a pitchfork.
There is a “pide” zone where Turkish pies are baked; in a week I tried to start queuing 3 times, but only got one. Having stood in the heat of 40 degrees for 30 minutes, the baker said the finish here, I could not stand it anymore and had a fight. This is complete chaos. Then they would say not to borrow. The same thing with ice cream - the queue is at least 15 minutes and they give strictly 1 in hand, if I want to take myself and my daughter, everyone should stand.
The same goes for alcohol. I don't drink much, but it's very unpleasant to stand with outstretched hand and ask for a glass of wine. As a result, they drank once during the entire vacation and then bought the wine in the store. A bottle costs about a thousand rubles. Not diluted without humiliation and queue.
As for food at sea, this is another nightmare - food is thrown there like animals. Around the dirt, as if it were leftovers. And you stand there picking. I poked around but didn't eat. I went to a nearby cafe and bought food for money.
In general, in the hotel everything that is supposedly free (although we paid for it in bulk) is issued very hard and with a negative, as if we were unwanted guests))))
It is also impossible to talk about the fact that there is someone at the pool who keeps order. There are no helpers who help open an umbrella or carry a sunbed, not even a cleaner who removes glasses and leftovers. In general, complete self-service. And people in this pigsty stay from hopelessness.
About the staff!
This is a very important part of the holidays. So in this hotel all the staff are like angry dogs. They can't speak calmly. They immediately begin to be rude and may even yell. For example, I'm talking about the manager of this hotel. He inadequately shouted in Turkish at me and my friends. At the same time, they translated to us not at all what he said. We called the police. To which the Police said nothing, we see nothing and hear nothing.
Angry staff everywhere! The maids do not want to wash the floor properly, everything is divorced. And they don't like being reprimanded. If the staff does not want to do something, they first fall into aggression and then begin to say that they understand only Turkish. And they don't understand English.
Towels are old and dirty, they are given out only at the hotel, taking into account that you have to go to the sea in a crowded bus, you need to bring them with you. And the issuance also has breaks in work, so you need to adapt to aphids to sunbathe without them.
In general, I told everything!
The whole hotel (guests) is outraged by the service and dirt. Only the owners of the rooms are trying to be happy, because they are in a hopeless situation and no matter how they are sent, they will still return, because they have already paid for this vacation 50 years in advance and they have no choice.

I am writing this part first, so that they read it for sure)) The tour was bought in Anex tour. Regarding the flight and transfer, everything is fine. Separately, I want to "thank" the representative of the travel agency in the hotel. When choosing excursions, we turned to him, since the hotel is far from the city and we simply did not want to look for someone left.
Do not believe the words of the guide, he says one thing, but the reality is completely different !!! ! And now, in order: we liked two excursions - a trip to the Land of Legends amusement park and a walk on a yacht.
Since, before the trip, we were interested in possible entertainment, we knew (from online reviews) that there were long queues in the park, and therefore we discarded this option. But the guide (Hovhannes "helped" us) said that several days a week, in the park
only clients of the Anex tour company go for entertainment, and therefore, there are no queues, well, a maximum of 15 people. We asked again, clarified and decided to say goodbye to $80 each for such a great offer.
And what did we see upon arrival? And we saw that there were queues of 100 or more people on the slides of the water park, that everyone had a rest there, there were buses of various travel agencies (you remember what the guide told us about the contract, etc. ), the rides were still closed, that there was a fast track service, about which we were not warned at the hotel, but already upon arrival at the park (surcharge of $ 30 and bypassing the queue). We have already paid 4000 UAH per person and were ready to pay extra, but since we were told that we need to take money for food and a luggage room, who would have thought that $ 125 for food would not be enough for us. On top of that, the course suddenly changed, and the fast track already cost $32 (although the loudspeaker was broadcasting around the park for $30, which is why we didn’t have enough $3!!!! ). As a result, while we were standing in line for the slide, lucky people with a fast track managed to ride 4, in total, 1 water slide cost us 50 minutes of parking in the heat, in a sweaty line of disgruntled people.
Fortunately, we rode 4 attractions, one of them is really impressive, but it's not worth that amount. Despite all the beauty and grandeur of the park, a trip there cost, in addition to money, one day of vacation and a lot of spent nerves.
Well, the second tour was not without deception on the part of the guide. During the discussion, the number of people on the yacht was clarified several times, as this was decisive for us. In the end, it turned out that there are places only on the largest and most beautiful yacht, that’s why the place costs $ 75 (and not 64 as it was on others), again, I specified the number of vacationers, to which I heard the answer - well, more expensive, because the yacht is cooler , and the number of 8 -12 people. It is clear that it will not be 8, but 12, but this is quite acceptable. On the way, we already learned that we were again bred, and that there would be 16 people, that is, a third more than promised! The question is, why did we pay extra $44.16 people + 2 guides + 4 crew members, count the total for yourself.
We also found out that this is a normal practice, and not only we were consciously incorrectly indicated the number of passengers. Otherwise, the walk turned out great, free drinks (beer, wine, water, etc. ), a delicious dinner at sunset, swimming in the sea, and meeting the sunset, more or less met our expectations.
We went with a company of 4 people (2 couples), so we took a family suite (two bedrooms, each with a shower and toilet + living room kitchen). The room is excellent, clean, beautiful, excellent scenery, there was a nuance with a shower leak, but the towel saved the situation.
They settled us somewhere at 14-30, when asked what the delay was - I quote (read in a pleased tone): "This is not some kind of small hotel for you, the hotel is big !! ! they haven't cleaned the room yet", which in turn, from the very beginning , slightly spoiled the impression. But the rest of the time, the staff was friendly and there were no such situations.
Regarding nutrition, everything is also good: 4-5 meat dishes, several types of side dishes, a bunch of desserts, salads, sauces, fruits. No one had problems with digestion, well, except for heaviness, from gluttony)))
The rating of the hotel is 4+, because we expected more, for such a price. There are almost always puddles in the elevator, but not because they didn’t clean it, but because many vacationers walk around the hotel wet (not wet, but with flowing water). Despite the inscription at the entrance to the restaurant, many walk around in wet clothes (when they put on a wet swimsuit), so you can eat while sitting on a wet seat.
It is very convenient that the hotel has a car rental. The route was planned in advance, we went to the mountains, to look at the green canyon from a height, and having stopped at a restaurant for lunch, we received an offer to ride a boat and swim in the reservoir. I strongly advise you to see these places, the green water conquered me, and the beauty of the views cannot be expressed in words.
In total, to everyone who has read it)), I advise you to prepare for your vacation in advance, believe the reviews and wish you a great vacation.
At least the last cup that the hotel won is dated 2014. And people, mostly employees of shops at the hotel, and even the staff themselves, tell this.
The hotel was profitable until 2015 when this incident with Russia happened. The hotel was empty, rooms and villas were sold to the local population. Everything fell into disrepair.
I planned my family trip for a long time and carefully chose the hotel. And I didn’t even want to believe in those reviews that, as it seemed to me, were written by spoiled people. But in vain!
And we arrived late at the hotel, we were settled in a villa with a pool, which turned out to be empty. We were assured that this was a misunderstanding and that it would be filled tomorrow. We were tired, in principle, we liked the villa and we went to bed. The story ends in the morning. I will not say that everything, especially plumbing, is not the first freshness for a long time, these are trifles, although it is strange for a five. It was striking that the floor in the house was very dirty, and then the husband pushed the sofa cushions apart and food fell from there... In the daylight, one could see the burnt curtains, the soiled upholstery of the sofa. That's something I really didn't want to put up with on a long-awaited vacation.
They gave us a villa quite far from the main building, and while we got up for breakfast with a stroller (we had a one-year-old baby and two children aged 5 and 6), everyone howled. My husband tried to arrange for a car to bring me and my children to breakfast, but we were made clear that the car transfer around the hotel only starts at 7 pm.
At the reception, I found a manager and asked to order to clean our room, after all, children, and there is such dirt. And asked to fill the pool. Because it’s a long way to go to the main one, and for safety reasons, suddenly one of the children accidentally falls into an empty pit.
But they decided to move us. For 7 people we were given a room 3 + 1 and claimed that this number is the best. The room had 5 beds, plus a sofa in the kitchen, which was laid out under the sixth. There was no room at all for a one-year-old child. I had to sleep in the same bed with him.
The hotel does not provide bathrobes, disposable bottles of shampoo. They have dispensers of liquid soap and shower gel screwed into the walls. When I asked how to wash my hair, the manager replied: “this is a product (shower gel) for hair too.
The hotel is very unkempt, in our room the faucet dangled in different directions, there were burnt blankets, there are sofas with stains on the floors, there are even window panes with chips. I was especially shocked by the sofa, located directly opposite the elevator, on the 1st floor. It has a rather bright, eye-catching back with a picture of the Beatles, and a terribly dirty bottom, which was once light, and now has a set of various stains.
The food is pretty repetitive. For lunch and dinner, one type of fish can be found. Once I got into seafood. For children under one year of age, there is no food in the restaurant. Soups are very spicy, salty, porridge undercooked. There are no pots in the hotel either. I do not advise drinking wine - disgusting. From alcohol - decent only beer.
On the second day of our check-in, the concept of the hotel changed. In one hand, the bartender gave no more than two drinks. Why???
Hotel cars stopped going to the villas after 7pm. Later we learned that there were more vacationers and the economy mode was turned on. After the crisis of 15 years, the hotel saves on everything. And the staff too. By the way, for this reason, we never got a pool in the villa. Almost all pools, except for private villas, were empty.
The owner of the hotel has not been there for a long time. So quality control is zero. By the way, the attitude towards the Germans is actually better than towards the Russians. This is visible to the naked eye.
The hotel area is large. But there are enough empty spaces. We found a steakhouse restaurant that has been closed for a long time, but garbage is still lying around everywhere. There is also cast furniture that no one needs. And there are not many such places. On the central pool for villas, there is a dilapidated reception, also empty, with equipment removed. True, the plants try to keep in order.
I do not advise you to go to the hammam - firstly, it does not look like a hammam, and secondly, the massage is not worth the money, they do it through the sleeves. The fact that they have problems with the service is everywhere. After the massage, they put me down to drink herbal tea, near the panoramic window overlooking Alanya, but the window sills, like the chair itself, were all covered in dust.
About pluses. Delicious fast food near the pool and in the water park, many places to visit in the hotel - there is even a cinema for children. Beautiful nature near the hotel, there is where to take a walk in the evening, you can pick fruit directly from the trees. A good water park, there is also a heated pool and a great area with sun loungers. There is children's animation and a free children's room from 10 to 17 pm.
I will never return to this hotel and will not recommend to friends. With all these disadvantages, you can add that it is unrealistic to get to the beach without a bus. However, as with the beach. The last one leaves at 6:00 pm. So you can forget about sunsets and sunrises. Walking from there is almost impossible. And even more so with children.
And wi-fi is a separate issue. There are about 20 networks at the hotel. But in a new place you need to look for a new network. And it's hellish. You fly out all the time and you have to go back in. Having suffered one day, I read work mail only in the room.
In fact, I met a lot of compatriots dissatisfied with the hotel. And each had its own, discouraging story, which does not stand next to its 5 stars.
Honestly, after such a rest, I needed more rest. I was in Turkey for the first time and this hotel spoiled my impression of it.
Oh good, this is of course the sea, the sea and again the sea !!! ! Plenty of sun loungers and large sunshades. The beach is clean.
There are many additional goodies on the beach, but for extra. money (jet ski, parachute, pills, etc. ). Everything is good with the safety of the rides.
I liked the local water park, there are slides for the little ones from two years old.
We tried not to swear, so as not to overshadow the rest, so the whole family is happy with the rest.
The second time I will not go and I will not advise my friends, there are too many reservations.
Goldcity is really a city. Initially, the hotel was built on a large scale and pathos. It is located on a hilltop at the foot of the mountains at an altitude of about 200 m. The air is clean, the views around are simply mesmerizing. The hotel has everything from bars-restaurants and hammam & spa to bowling and cinema. But unfortunately most of the built bars do not function. Everything that is shown in the photos of the hotel on the Internet is in reality closed and does not work. Only the A la carte restaurant is open (by appointment) - the trip to it disappointed, there is a cinema (movies are broadcast in different languages) and bowling, a golf course and a water park. The water park is really good - a lot of slides for both children and adults (open 2.5 hours before lunch and 2.5 hours after lunch). Evening animation is excellent (fun and varied), but after it ends (22:00-22:30) there is depressing silence and boredom - music is not turned on on the street, the area in front of the bar, where there are tables for vacationers, is immersed in the drunken mumbling of drinking people. At 24:00 the disco starts - the duration depends on the number of people who want to crush the fats and the mood of the DJ, as a rule, after 01:00-01:30 strange music starts and the people gradually disperse. Rooms for 5 * are small in size - you can’t even walk around on a pony. Cleaning of the rooms at the level of replacing towels and fixing the sheets. There were no particular complaints about nutrition - they fed deliciously, a lot, but monotonously (what they didn’t eat yesterday was served the next day). The dining room is dirty (dirty tablecloths, chairs, floors and glasses), there are few staff - they do not have time to follow everything. And this despite the fact that at the time of arrival the hotel was filled somewhere by a third!
But all these little things are washed away from the memory by the sea - it is simply gorgeous, turquoise and transparent as a tear. The beach is private, wide, sandy and pebbly. Loungers are plentiful. On the beach, who comes for the whole day, there is a snack bar (you will not be hungry).
For Internet addicts - Wi-Fi catches almost everywhere (on the beach, around the hotel, in the water park, in the room (3rd floor)).
Goldcity - a hotel built once with an application for chic and brilliance is gradually losing it. The name Silvercity is more appropriate.
