My story will be short, because. the largest number of complaints I have is not to the hotel itself, but to the work of the tour operator Odeon Tours (host). We went on vacation spontaneously and, frankly, took advantage of the travel agency's recommendation regarding the choice of a hotel, which had never been done before. I have always carefully studied the information about the hotel and the resort, left not only by our compatriots, but also by foreign tourists. And never once have we made a mistake in our choice. All the same, reviews give an objective picture. She herself was always not lazy and answered the questions of tourists, but now I just want to warn. Upon my return, I read the reviews of this hotel and can subscribe to every negative review. All described by other tourists one way or another have a place to be:
1. We were immediately offered a room in the 1st building on the 1st floor, on the doorstep of the room (without even checking what works and what doesn’t, the room made a gloomy impression without it), I immediately categorically refused to settle in it. We were escorted back to the reception. The hotel employee rummaged through the computer and said that there were no other free rooms in my category (standard) and offered me a new building on the 2nd floor for $ 50, of course I agreed. Building number 7 immediately behind the green reception. Later, from the reviews, I found out that these are really new buildings No. 7.8 and some others. In the room, though, everything worked / relatively worked. Then, from a conversation with other tourists, it turned out that almost everyone gave a surcharge from 50 to 70 dollars (how the price was determined for each is unknown !!! ). One of the tourists with whom we talked was given a room "for so" on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool, because. they were the last to check in, and apparently both the limit of bad rooms and the need for extra money that day had already been exhausted.
2. In the room, the shower tray was clogged and water flowed smoothly from it into the toilet room. We cleaned it out on our own several times (while arguing with other tourists, we found out that it was useless to complain about the reception), but the problem remained.
3. The faucet above the sink flopped, so it had to be held with one hand. When checking in, I drew attention to this problem, they promised to fix it, but before leaving, no one appeared in the room.
4. From the little things: at lunch a couple of times there was no water, a couple of times in the evening the lights went out throughout the hotel.
5. Essential, especially for vacationers with children: a hundred meters from the hotel across the road there is a bar that works DAILY FROM MIDNIGHT TO 5 A. M. behind the reception, well, it’s very audible...
6. Tip - rent a safe $2/day, read a lot of theft. We rented a safe from the first day, everything is fine, everything is intact.
7. Many balconies are doubled with the neighboring room, ours was not a double one. I think it might be relevant for mothers with children, single girls who do not want to fight off a loving neighbor at night. On the last night, I watched a picture of a drunken couple of young people trying to step over (to do this a couple of trifles) to their neighbors on the balcony. A passing guard gave them a "shhh" and walked away. After that, they continued to joke (two in the morning, I could hear from the neighboring building) and I can’t say how their attempts to get to the neighbors ended, because. we were already leaving.
8. There is Wi-Fi, it catches especially well near the large pool in the bar, next to the reception. At the reception, I never managed to enter it. Somebody wrote the code here. If you don’t find it, demand it at the reception, “they give it out from under the floor”, I had to demand, probably they also wanted money for it...
9. Inventory for volleyball, tennis is given out on bail of $ 10. As a joke or not, when I began to pick it up, they didn’t want to give it to me, then they offered $ 5 instead of 10 with the argument that “you still have it there (in the safe) )", well, then I started yelling and they returned my $ 10, safely hidden by me in a safe.
10. Water is allowed to be poured only into disposable plastic cups, everywhere there is an announcement in bottles that it is impossible to pour. Accordingly, people secretly, holding a bottle in a bag or bag, looking around are forced to get their own water. Personally, I poured it in a bar near the pool, as if relying on holding a bottle in a bag and looking around, I was "caught" in this shameful occupation by the bartender, who pulled the bottle from me by force. I demanded the "precious container" back, he poured out the water and returned the bottle to me. In the restaurant itself, with this, everything is pah-pah more democratic, at least no one attacked or took anything away.
11. Pool. There are several of them, the longest is between the white buildings at the reception, it has a wonderful view in the evening from the buildings located around it. But a lot of chlorine. The husband is still covered with a rash all over his body. Perhaps this is from bathing after peeling done in a hotel Turkish bath, when the pores were first opened, and then safely clogged with bleach from the pool. Three slides, but one did not work.
12. Beach by the sea. Sun loungers, umbrellas are many for free. BUT: entry into the sea is very rocky, even for an adult it is difficult to enter. You can enter from the pier, but this is a rusty iron staircase, which fell off somewhere at the end of the rest. My husband swam there once, other vacationers complained to him that they had come with their children for the sake of the sea, and the children could not enter the sea. I read that if you go to the left there is a sandy beach, those who walked said that it was far away and there was nothing "wonderful" there.
13. Restaurant. At first I liked it, but on the second day they began to react more objectively:
a) the fish was twice all the time, each time a queue was built and those who did not manage to get this product for about an hour did not see it;
b) from meat: constantly dismembered chicken in sauce and recently, fortunately, grilled (like shawarma) turkey meat. The rest is meatballs or something like that. They dared to eat only once. Meat pieces a la veal were twice in sauce with mushrooms.
c) fruits - for all the time there were apples and oranges (cut), one or two days greenish apricots, given out in portions, a couple of times watermelons. ALL!! ! and this while cherries and strawberries across the road cost only $2/kg. We went shopping, but it's a shame, everything seems to be "inclusive"...
d) once there were mussels from seafood, and then I came across a piece of shell, I didn’t eat anymore - the case with Tori from DOM-2, when she cut her esophagus with such a piece of shell and almost died. So you need to eat them very carefully, it is better not to give them to children.
e) drinks - from soft drinks you can drink water and tea. Tea seemed to me all the same black. Juices are not juices, but a diluted concentrate, they carry it in foil bags and make everything out of it: juices, ice cream, they add it to cocktails. We don't need alcohol at all! Many, like us, drank only their own. From beer - Ephesus and the Old Miller, the old miller is nothing, but Ephesus is not very good. I didn't like the red wine from the barrel. We didn’t try it from bottles (all the desire to experiment has disappeared)
e) baked donuts were in demand, the rest seemed to me the same type, although the assortment is large.
In general, you need to go to the restaurant early: there is a choice, there are no heaps of dirty dishes on the tables (very noticeable on the street), it doesn’t stink yet.
But the most important thing that I didn’t like: dirty tablecloths, poorly washed dishes (look carefully when choosing cups and plates - there are traces of food around the edges and fingerprints on the outside, black marks on the cups). Of course, we have never been poisoned by anything, but they need to work on hygiene.
14. Toilets in public places (bar / restaurant / reception) are somehow not very good, I saw broken doors (i. e. it doesn’t exist at all), apparently someone was trying hard to break into the booth.
15. Location. There are only small private shops nearby. The nearest village is Konakli, there are six stops to the left (we walked, it was hot, we eventually returned), there is a market only on Wednesday, the nearest city is Alanya, it costs $ 30 by taxi. We didn’t go. Opposite the hotel there is a nice square, but very small. ALL!!!
In general, it is more impressive than a huge teeming pioneer camp, where either there is no time, or there is no desire to follow everything, but there is a desire to "serve" the maximum number of tourists.
