Please advise how much it costs to rent a car on Koh Samui, I want to visit the Centara Villas hotel, and it is quite far from Chaweng - 20 km, or maybe there are some other affordable ways to get there. If you take a car, it is better insured or not.

It is undesirable to take a car anywhere in Thailand, I will explain why: Thais do not follow the rules of the road, as a result of which there are a large number of accidents, and tourists are always considered guilty, even if this is not the case, cars are usually not insured!

about the rules - that's for sure, although we did not encounter any problems. except that the right-hand traffic was embarrassing - a couple of times they drove into the oncoming lane :) and instead of the turn signals, they turned on the wipers :))))
They took Suzuki Vitara for the whole day, it seems to cost about 1000 baht, those 1000 rubles. You can rent a car anywhere! even at the grocery store! but it’s better to find a place with insured cars, of course, it’s more expensive there, but it’s calmer yourself :)

Prices depend on the type of car, from 800 to 2000 baht per day, as a rule there is no insurance. My advice is to take a motorcycle and it is cheaper from 150 to 250 baht and it is more convenient to move around, given the way they drive and the width of the streets!
