How do I get on local Thai Airways flights?
We are now trying to plan a vacation for the end of winter. At the same time, I want to somehow save money, but not lose with convenience.
In general, we want to go to Thailand, on Koh Samui. On one's own.
Tickets to Samui under 60 thousand for one, and even with two transfers.
I want to consider another option. Aeroflot flies directly to Bangkok. More precisely, how to say directly? Direct flight from Moscow. If from St. Petersburg, then of course with a transfer in Moscow. But the transfer is one and quite short. This time. And the second - the price is almost 2 times lower. I compared prices on the same bilet.coral search engine. It turns out only 32 thousand.
I read that you can fly from Bangkok to Koh Samui by local Thai airlines. But here's a question, two to be exact:
1. How to find tickets for these same local lines?
2. Will it be cheaper than taking a flight from St. Petersburg to Koh Samui?

I usually search through airsales. Previously, AirAsia also flew to Koh Samui and other Thai islands of Thai Airways (flight plus boat, because planes of other airlines other than Thai were not allowed on the island). Now I see some other Bangkok Airways issuing a search engine. For February, up to 20 thousand per person, a direct flight without a boat is a little expensive, the flight + boat will be cheaper.

Bangkok Airways fly to Koh Samui from Bangkok
http://www.bangkokair.com
and Thai Airways

You can buy tickets directly on the websites of these airlines. We always fly with Bangkok Airlines, they are cheaper than Thai. Pay by card on the site, you will receive a ticket by e-mail. When checking in for a flight, they may ask for the card with which the payment was made. Normal, good price is considered 100 dollars one way, see different dates and different times, departures every hour.
Air Asia is a good state employee, but it does not fly and has never flown to Koh Samui, there is a monopoly.
It is more expensive or cheaper to buy a flight from St. Petersburg to Koh Samui, look in each case, compare.
It happens sometimes that it is cheaper, but, as a rule, it is not.
Z.Y. The end of winter is a very unfortunate time for Koh Samui.

Pachok. I agree with the answer. There is nothing to add.

you can buy tickets from Moscow immediately for Bangkok Airways flights - that year they cost 22 thousand for two and there is also a taxi, if through an agency - 800 baht, if directly, negotiate for 500. In Bangkok, you can go up to the top floor and fly away company, no problem. We took tickets from here, because we don’t speak the language. The food there really sucks, but it's so great. Below the market, it works from 6 in the morning, you can walk along the fast lane before the flight, all for 100 rubles. Cotton. Thais from all over are buying in bulk, hurry up. You need to go from the airport from the lowest floor along the blue line to the Rachatprarop station, and then walk nearby. For only 40 baht, and a taxi costs 400, and even traffic jams, you can get stuck, besides, they have left-hand traffic and they drive somehow. Good luck. It's cool, the sea was not always clean. In restaurants, do not go to the toilets, do not spoil your appetite. We lived on Koh Samui in Lamai Beach, at the Thai House Beach Resort, three rubles, but quite decent.

Better in February, of course, but we were in November, so we flew in for 3 days walking under the showers, and then waited for the sea to clear up. And in Bangkok at that time it was hot. Although November is considered a good season, they did not burn out in 2 weeks.

Both February and November are off-season on Koh Samui. There may be rain and storms. The normal season there starts in May and ends at the end of September.

The answer is obvious, go to the website of the Thai carrier
Russian-language search is there.
Now I just scored the date offhand, it turns out a round-trip flight from Bangkok to Koh Samui is a little less than 10,000 Thai baht. The exchange rate of the baht to the ruble is approximately 1:2.
That is, it turns out 20,000 rubles approximately.
In any case, it’s cheaper than flying from Russia to Samaya right away, since this ticket. Coral offers a good price to Bangkok. Even weird by the way. I always thought that Aeroflot is a very expensive carrier.

Thanks a lot to all who answered! I read some answers and I understand that we will probably refuse from Koh Samui
Particularly thanks to Pachok's answers. In general, I consider Tai as an alternate airfield. And in general, I can’t decide where to fly so that at the very end of winter I can get “in summer”. And to be economical at the same time.
I also looked at Sri Lanka. The price is comparable to a flight to Bangkok. But still undecided. The most interesting thing is that those tickets that I wrote about in the question are no longer there. But now, Etihad flights are actively picked up on the same Koral search engine. Both in Thailand and Sri Lanka with only one transfer in Dubai.
But my husband told me to sit down and not twitch. Celebrate the new year calmly, and then on vacation without haste to decide.
And I want everything as soon as possible)))
True, after NG (they say !!!) there may be discounts on flights, so maybe. and it makes sense to wait

Etihad is great! The best airline I have ever flown with!
Still, don't give up on the thought of Tae. In winter there is a season in other resorts - Phuket, Krabi, Chang. I haven't been to Chang.
But getting to Phuket or Krabi from Bangkok will be cheaper than to Koh Samui.

http://www.nokair.com
There is also Orient Thai Airlines - they only fly to Phuket from Bangkok, the planes are lousy, but it can be very cheap.
Phuket is more "Russian" and trampled down by tourists, Krabi is the region of Thailand with the most beautiful nature. It’s just awesome there, and among our package tourists it’s not very popular yet.
Regarding the purchase of tickets, I agree with your husband :) But, if we are talking about the end of winter, my advice is to decide in the first days of January, then it will only be more and more expensive. Even on New Year's Eve you can watch it, I was very lucky once :)
аватар Pachok
Yes, and it makes sense to wait if you have a normal currency on hand. If rubles or hryvnias, which by the New Year can fall in price by another 30%, then ... draw your own conclusions.
аватар Polanskaya1955
I have read everything and agree with everyone. As for tickets, keep an eye on Aeroflot promotions, now the planes fly half empty (I work for this company, but not in transportation), two flights are combined into one and New Year’s promotions may very well be thrown out. There is always an embargo for employees for this period, and in connection with the crisis lifted the embargo on all directions. So grab the stock! I haven’t been to Phuket and don’t want to, especially in Pattaya, 20 years ago there was already a garbage dump. It's good on Koh Chang and on Samet. But on Samet, a purely family, relaxing holiday, without parties. But the protected area, birds sing and fish swim. And Koh Samet has the cleanest sea in Thailand.
аватар Pachok
Last year, oil spilled near Samet, people urgently moved to other resorts: (Don't know, is it clean now?
аватар cherepiczkaya
Pachok, thank you very much for such a detailed consultation. I'll take a closer look at Krabi. On the ticket right now, I’ll probably start to twitch, otherwise I already have a head full of numbers. But I will take into account the advice about the first number of January. If not right on New Year's Eve (it's unlikely to work here :))) then I'll monitor it right on the 1st in the morning! Once again thank you very much!!!
аватар Polanskaya1955
I myself have not been, but, they say, everything has been clean for a long time
аватар Polanskaya1955
Special offer from Thai Airways!
Promotion from Thai Airways! Tickets to Thailand and back 38100 rubles. including fees!
thai-airways.ru And here is the discount, catch it soon
аватар ollennka
I join the recommendations to fly to Krabi. I was there in December last year. The nature and the sea are super, not very crowded, the flight is cheaper than to the islands (Phuket does not count, because you can also get there by land).
