Long flight with baby
Wanted some advice - maybe someone in the know? I'm in a dilemma right now. We have a long flight to Thailand. The child will be 10.5 months old at the time of the flight. there are two options: Thai Airways (super attentive to children, and in general - on top of the service), but the flight is 11 hours with a two-hour transfer in Bangkok; or Transaero (Russian reality), but a direct flight is 9.5 hours.
I know that a lot of people like Trances, but on long flights, their shortcomings really come out in large quantities. With Thais, it's much easier. I am worried about the moment with the transfer - is it not very hard for the baby to manage such a short exchange between landing and the next takeoff?

I think it's better with a transfer if the service is better.

I also support transplant.
there may be an option that the child will sleep through most of the flight, and honor and yell ...
it is individual. consult your doctor. Most of the time, babies get their ears stuffed up and they cry. you need to know the pressure.
Here is my low one. I endure flights much worse than my acquaintances. I chose a solution for myself - I thump before. someone is taking pills.
the child is small, he still can not)))

As an experienced mother of three children (we fly from 2 months and over longer distances) - definitely for a non-stop flight. Believe me, even minus 2 hours on the road is a huge plus. then sometimes all sorts of delays and non-connections increase the road at times (there were more than a day on the road instead of the expected 13 hours), the second is exit and entry with a small child into the plane is a separate song (collect everything, then get it again, etc.). but if there is an opportunity to take a business, this is super. maintenance on the road at a level below or above the plinth will not affect you and your child much (verified). And another question, are you still planning to breastfeed at the time of the flight? If yes, super, don’t even hesitate to take a direct flight. if not, it will be harder, but not criminal. the main thing is your attitude to positive, even if the child does not behave very adequately (which is quite possible) and of course a first aid kit with you just in case. if interested, I’ll write what you need to take with you on the plane. and so nothing complicated.

One minus on the plane is our compatriots. Someone adequately relates to the crying of a child (this is a child), and someone will grumble all the way, why spoil their vacation. There is a category, but you can hold it (the main thing is not to be drunk). of all of them, it’s harder not to fall for the flight. Before the flight, drink a sedative (even if you feed), there will be no harm from small doses to you or your child. it’s difficult to buy it already (they looked for the right numbers to Phuket, though from St. Petersburg, everything has already been bought, the new year is a hot time, by the way, the youngest is not yet 2 years old)

I plan to feed - to give the breast on takeoff / landing.
I don’t want to fly in trances, because they don’t care about the child, and the Ays love the kids and, if anything, they can transplant them into the business. I understand that everything is possible, but if 9 hours of hell can come out with trances, then with Thais ... well, they still look like people))) I saw how a Thai stewardess sat next to the baby for half an hour, patiently entertaining him. We, it seems to me, will not pay attention. Transaero is definitely not enough for me for business. Here I sit and think, there is still time on Tuesday. We are flying with my husband and mother, we can get together and figure it out, I think we can do it. The flight is regular - there should be no delays ...

If such a mood is in a trance, then you will look for it in everything. You yourself are determined to fly with the Thais. And you are unlikely to listen to me. Of course, you will have to feed not only during takeoff and landing, but almost the entire flight. .the heaviest flights at 2,3,4 am departure (it seems the child on the plane will fall asleep on the whole journey, but usually vice versa). but in any case, I am for direct flights (or their minimum). and we have wonderful flight attendants. but I feel I can’t convince you :)

And if my mother flies with me, I don’t worry at all, where and how much to fly

I flew a lot - I saw little good from our ak oO departure of Thais at seven in the evening, trances at nine. The flight time is the same, it's just that the Thais have a two-hour transfer in Bangkok + an hour to Phuket. This is actually the whole difference. For me, a husband is a greater advantage than a mother)) in our family, it is he who manages the best with a child)))
In any case, thanks more for the feedback) I will, of course, still think.

I'm for the Thais. But do not even count on the fact that a nursing mother with a baby will be transferred from an economy to a business. Of course, they love children, but not to such an extent that they neglect the comfort of business class passengers.
аватар berennis
there were cases of OO but even in the economy there conditions are much better, it seems to me, than for trances. The fact that they will do everything to put the economy in the first row

I agree with this. Take the Thais :) You yourself tend to them.
