The hotel is small, located quite well, except for the stinky river next door. There is a smell, but on the second day you get used to it, especially since it smells everywhere there - that’s how their sewage is arranged. To the sea - 500-600 meters, ten minutes of leisurely walking. The entertainment center is a 20 minute walk. On Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, there is a night market on the site across the river. On which a lot of goodies, including fried grasshoppers and caterpillars - you must definitely try, very tasty!
Resettlement.
Quite quickly - a group of 13 people settled in about half an hour. Upon check-in, they take a deposit of 50 dollars or euros, which is returned upon departure. This is a common practice in hotels in Thailand.
There were no Russian-speaking staff at the reception anymore (Irina was mentioned in previous reviews). They speak English, but it is difficult to understand them, as well as all other English-speaking Thais. But it was always possible to explain.
Number.
We had room 706, on the seventh floor. There is an elevator. The advantage of this room is that it is isolated from the neighbors, so neither we nor we interfered with anyone. The windows overlook the road, which caused some inconvenience at night. “Tuk-tuks” and fancy cars with loud music “tyts, tyts, tyts” drive until late.
The room is quite small, white tiles on the floor, black furniture. The light is warm, soft and enough (compared with the number of friends - their light was cold, sharp, it was unpleasant to be in the room).
The bed is large, made up of two, sleeping together is not very comfortable. The mattress is hard.
There is a kind of sofa, standing by the window, can be used as a third bed. Next to the bed there are bedside tables, a table against the opposite wall with drawers, a mirror, a square ottoman (used as a table), a small LCD TV. The TV set is quite modern, there is an HDMI input for connecting a laptop. Small fridge without minibar. The water in the bottle was frozen properly. The room has an electric kettle and a coffee-tea-sugar set, which was replenished every day. Added sugar for breakfast. Two small bottles of water were given per day. The kettle is Chinese, new, and therefore the water from it slightly gave off plastic, they didn’t take their own in vain. Sockets are 220 volts and you can plug in both a thin and a euro plug. There are a lot of sockets, a tee is not needed, there was enough for all chargers.
There is a safe in the room which was a plus for us. The safe is electronic, before you drive in your code, you must reset the old one by pressing the button on the end of the door from the inside, where the hinges are.
The air conditioner is hanging over the bed, yes, not great. But we got out of the situation by directing the air stream horizontally, and cold air passed over the bed.
On the first day, the condo blew warm, I had to call the master through the reception. At night, there is no sense from them, and during the day the master came, brought a cylinder of refrigerant and restored the air conditioner in five minutes. Keep in mind that the air conditioner is rather weak, the humidity is high and it is not worth leaving it on when leaving the room for the whole day.
Ice accumulates on the indoor unit and the unit stops cooling. Let's thaw it like your refrigerator.
The bathroom has a toilet (it has a separate hygienic shower), a sink and a shower built into the wall. The shower is separated from the rest by a curtain. Easy to wash, water drains well. The pressure is good, the water temperature too. There are containers with shampoo and soap, everything was replenished on time.
Linen is clean, not torn, pleasant to the touch. The room has two large towels, one for feet and two orange beach towels. The main ones changed during the next cleaning, we changed the beach ones when we managed to see the maid. All without problems.
Leave a tip for the maid on the bed, the quality of cleaning does not improve, so optional.
The balcony is tiny, two chairs and that's it.
The side is sunny, the sun comes to the room from about 13-30 and it gets hot.
There were small ants, but they came only if you leave sweet crumbs. Put all the sweets in the refrigerator and there will be no problems.
Dining room and breakfast.
The dining room is an open veranda at the exit from the hotel. Enough space, no lines. In the evening it turns into an ordinary roadside eatery, of which there are a million.
At the entrance, scrambled eggs are prepared, according to your order. You can ask to throw greenfinches. Next comes the rack with the rest of the food. Every day the standard set: cucumbers, tomatoes, greens, chicken sausages, quite tolerable ham, rice or fried potatoes, chicken with vegetables. Next - drinks: chilled juices, water, milk. Coffee and tea in teapots, sugar without restrictions. Flakes of two kinds, jam, muffins, croissants. You can toast. There are two types of white bread, there is no black bread at all. There are fruits: melon, watermelon, pineapple. The stock is replenished, there was enough for everyone.
The dining room is open in the morning from 7-00 to 10-30, but it’s better not to delay it all the way, at 10 they begin to slowly fold.
Food can also be ordered to the room, ordered a couple of times. Delivered quickly and hot. You pay right away. The menu is in the room.
Swimming pool .
In the courtyard behind the reception. Quite tiny. You can sit at the table in the evening. Warm water. Did not use.
Internet.
Wi-Fi is available throughout and is free. You need to ask the reception for a login password and you can connect.
It has an important feature: the nets are called PRD_RESORT 1.4 and 5. Accordingly, they are caught, at number 1 - on the first floor, at number 5 - from the fifth and above.
At first I was upset by the poor reception, connecting on the seventh floor to the first network. After reconnecting to the fifth, I did not experience any problems with the Internet in the room. Skype works great! Photos upload quickly.
And now about the main thing. Motobikes!
The main and indisputable advantage of this hotel is that they rent motorbikes without a passport as a deposit!
It should be noted that a holiday in Thailand, and especially in Patong, without a motorbike is not a holiday. The beach in the southern part of Patong is dirty, the water is unclear, because the same stink river flows into the sea just behind the beach.
You must either go to the northern farthest part of the beach, or go to the neighboring ones.
On our beach, we were once on the first day, that was enough. The nearest beautiful Karon Beach is a 15-minute drive away. You can take a tuk-tuk for 200 baht.
So, if you need a motorbike, then in our hotel you can take it by simply calling the room number! They have their own, parking at the entrance. In other places, you will be asked for a passport as a pledge or a deposit, which is highly undesirable to give.
If you take it, then for the entire period, because then you may not get it! We got so caught: they took it for a day, and then it wasn’t there. I had to run to the reception at any opportunity and ask what finally helped, and until the end of the vacation we rode wherever we wanted!
The price is 250 baht per day. Yes, it is not cheap, in the city you can take it for 150, but you are spared problems with a passport. Plus, when you give it back, they don’t even look at its condition - they just put it in the parking lot and gave the key.
Departure.
Do not listen to the guide from the travel agency and take a motorbike - you will see much more and get complete freedom.
Do not take the excursions offered by the guide - the same in the neighboring “travel bureau” will be cheaper, but the service is the same. All excursions are organized through locals anyway, so why pay an extra intermediary? There were five of us, we always traveled in a personal minibus with our guide, and not in a branded bus for 30 people.
Interestingly, there were no prices in the list of excursions that the guide gave us at the morning meeting. Why - it turned out later, when we arrived from the first excursion. The guides themselves wind up the price, as far as their conscience allows. From conversations we learned that we overpaid an extra 300 baht for the same tour from the same operator, but to a different guide.
Do not take “Shop Tour” and “Obzornaya” for any price - this is a wasted day.
Do not take Coral Island - there is not a single coral! It's just an island! We got caught, took masks, wanted to compare with the Red Sea - only money wasted.
Somewhere there are corals and fish, of course, but not on the “Coral Island”!
Shops are everywhere, cafes too, there are no problems with food.
Almost everywhere they accept dollars, and in some places even rubles. Exchangers at every turn. The course is different - for 50-100 dollar bills it is higher. Full of ATMs. Money can be withdrawn using our cards, but a one-time commission of 150 baht is taken, so it is better to withdraw a larger amount at a time. You can also pay by card in stores. The conversion rate to the ruble poti is one to one when paying by card.
The sun is brutal! Humidity is high. Air +34, water +31.
But it's so great, especially when there is still a steady minus at home!
Looks like he told everything. . .
PS. Will I return to this hotel again? Rather, yes, if again to Patong.
Everyone writes: that the beach is a 7-minute walk! Yes, it is, but Patong is a very crowded and relatively dirty beach! Guys, get together in a company and to the right of the hotel near the 7-Eleven minimarket taxi drivers are constantly on duty - a car costs 300 baht to the wonderful Karon beach and 350 to Kata, there are seven-seater SUVs - the price is the same for a car (is this the price for such a pleasure? )! If there is no company - motobike taxi - 150 baht.
One of the amenities of the hotel's location is that everything is within easy reach, that is, walking distance! Almost back to back on the right is a 7-Eleven minimarket, the alcohol stocks of which were constantly emptied by hotel guests. The local rum Sang Som (or in the common people Samsung) with cola was especially good! A fifteen minute walk towards the center is the huge Jungceylon shopping center - a paradise for shopaholics! It also has beauty salons for those who like to pamper themselves - an hourly procedure with peeling and numerous masks and scrubs (Japanese cosmetics are used) costs 349 baht, but there are also more advanced complexes! And on the ground floor there is a Big C supermarket, which has a large selection of local juices, fruits (whole, peeled and wrapped in film) and, of course, seafood, which will be fried and packed in front of you - it comes out cheaper than in cafes and fruit stalls! There you can buy wonderful sauces for fish and seafood.
Right at Jungceylon, Bangla Road rests - the local party zone - comes to life in the evening and the whole party goes on until 4 in the morning: discos, striptease bars, pinpong shows, ladyboy street and more, here you can meet local geishas in any of the many bars!
Well, in general, and everything in a nutshell! I wish you a pleasant stay! ; )
P. S. : Do not be stingy - bring Russian chocolate and other sweets from Russia to Irina if you are going to this hotel! The person misses them very much and will be very grateful to you! Well hello from me!
