Back in thai
Hello! A week ago, my husband and I returned from Tai, while the memory is fresh, I want to share my impressions.
We went to Thailand for the second time, a year and a half ago we took a tour of Bangkok + Pattaya, this time we chose Bangkok + Phuket. We flew on an Aeroflot flight, we liked it much more than TransAero (we were lucky - there were very few passengers, everyone got a whole row of seats, better than in business class; ).
In Bangkok, we stayed at the Prince Palace 4 * hotel, the hotel is good, clean, not shabby furniture, a picturesque view of the canal, after reading reviews about cockroaches rushing around the room, I tried to track them down, but I didn’t see a single one. On the way back from Phuket, we spent the night at the Twin Towers hotel, I liked it more, and the location is very convenient (a five-minute walk to the huge MBK and Siam Paragon shopping centers). Since we are in Bangkok for the second time, we didn’t go to the Royal Palace, but went to the aquarium in Siam Paragon, very interesting, much better than the Vietnamese one, walked around the city, went to Chatuchak Park, on weekends there is a huge market where everything is sold - from knitwear to pets and flowers. It is very interesting to look at the national color.
In the evening we went to the Siam Niramit show, in Phuket there is a very similar FantaSi show, in principle, neither one nor the other was particularly impressive, but in Phuket it was more interesting - more animals participated, acrobats were livelier, there was a beautiful area around where it was nice to walk, there are fun attractions .
In Phuket, we rested at the Duanjitt Resort 4 * hotel. I really liked the hotel, the territory is large and green, there are many birds, the singing of which creates the atmosphere of the jungle, two pools, one of them is large, the second is smaller. The pools are closed at night, but in the evening, returning from the city, we always swam there in the dark. What I didn’t like about the room is that the shower and toilet are two separate cubicles, the door of which opens directly into the room, and this door is glass and does not reach the ceiling by about 30 cm, although in the end we got used to it. But I heard what is the location only in garden view rooms. Breakfast at the hotel is the same as in all Asian, we did not like it. There were always sausages, bacon, rice (where would we be without it; ), three types of juices, from baking there were croissants and biscuit, vegetables, from fruits - watermelon, pineapple, dragon's eye and something like a melon (I still don’t remember the name ). Lunch and dinner went outside the territory, I really liked the Pizza Shark cafe (go across the road from the main entrance of the hotel and literally walk towards the sea for a minute). Very tasty pizza, everything else is also well prepared, good cocktails, cheerful waitresses who offered to play logic games with them. Pizza costs 210-280 baht, cocktails are all 150 baht, beer - 60 baht. If you want Russian food, then opposite the Savoy restaurant (walk three hundred meters in the opposite direction to Duanjitt) there are two Russian restaurants - “House by the Road” and “At Ksenia”, they cook delicious, but a little expensive.
Every day we went for a massage, it is offered on every corner. We did it in the salon, which is located towards the sea from our hotel, next to the Famili Mart store. Foot massage - 200 baht / hour, time massage - 199 baht, oil massage - 300 baht, lomi-lomi 350. We have not seen cheaper anywhere.
As for the beaches, of course, I didn’t really like Patong, it is undoubtedly cleaner than Pattaya, but also not a fountain, we went to swim in Karon, there is a very clear sea, big waves and fine sand that creaks underfoot.
Weather - we arrived in Phuket, it rained for three days (from the series - it started to rain, it rained for three months). The clouds did not disperse for a minute, the rain was constant - not heavy, but small and nasty. On the fourth day, the sun came out and we immediately got burned, thinking that this was the last sunny day before the start of the rainy season, but there was no more rain before departure (5.06. 2552 ) never happened.
Of the excursions, we took a canoe tour to James Bond island (2800 baht per person) and Pee Pee (200 baht). A canoe tour would have been interesting in good weather, but it was cloudy, the sea was ugly gray, and walking around the island in a cellophane raincoat in the rain was not very attractive. We went to the Phi Phi Islands with ILVES TOUR, found them on the Internet, really liked it, a good Russian guide, very beautiful islands, I recommend it to everyone.
Shopping - we liked most of all in the center of Jang Ceylon, a very large selection of sports items from world brands, a lot of sales (my husband bought sneakers that cost 5000 baht before the sale, and now - 2300 baht). In the basement of this center there are many souvenir shops, a lot of cosmetics. They sewed a suit for my husband from the Indians on the embankment in two days, bargained for 5.000 baht, the suit is sewn super, it fits like a glove. Of course, we bought all sorts of T-shirts, shorts, flip flops, however, when we will wear it, if our summer lasts one month, we don’t know.
In the evenings, we went for a walk on Bangla Road (Walking Street in Pattaya is much cooler). Of the discos, I liked Banana the most, the entrance costs 200 baht, but inside you are offered a choice of any cocktail for free, that is, that’s what it comes out to.
What can we conclude: compared to Pattaya, Phuket has much more beautiful nature, cleaner sea, especially in Karon and Kat, much calmer and quieter. There are very few Russian people, for the whole day one could not hear their native speech. So if you need a relaxing beach holiday - this is Phuket, but if you are going to Tai for the first time, you should go to Pattaya, that is my opinion.
