You can have a good rest in this hotel, despite the minuses. Remoteness from the sea has its positive aspects: there is no noise from discos and restaurants, a very green area - you practically live in the jungle, there are few other hotels around, respectively, fuss. 30 minutes to Patong Beach. with a calm step, countless cafes, shops and mini-markets brighten up the road. At 20 min. walk is the largest shopping center in Patong, Jungleceylon, where you can buy anything and spend time in restaurants with European food when you get bored with exotic-peculiar Thai cuisine (TonYam soup, of course, is a delicious thing, but you won’t eat every day). There are a lot of bike rental offices around (180-250 baht / day). Excursions were taken on the street - 2 times cheaper than from a hotel guide, and we all ride in the same bus and sail on the same speed boat, with the same Russian guide (usually these are downshifters illegally working in Thailand, but sometimes they tell interesting). The hotel rooms are large, old, but everything works and is regularly cleaned. Refrigerator, air conditioning (worked quietly), a full bath, a kettle brought in 3 minutes. after request - not bad for 3 stars. Shampoo gels were added, towels were changed. They don't speak Russian, and you won't even understand English. Despite all the talk about Thai politeness and smiling, I first met with rudeness at the reception (very peculiar girls work) - when trying to clarify the schedule of the hotel shuttle bass, the Thai woman began to yell at me like a wounded macaque. I had to send her and communicate directly with the driver. By the way, the bass goes to JungleCeylon 4 times a day and it is very convenient to return from the beach on it, without dragging in the heat and without climbing the hated mountain on which the hotel is located. The mountain is a separate issue: normally, without respite and shortness of breath, if you are not a sports friend, you won’t be able to move around the hotel (I sweated 120 kg, groaned, but my wife forced me and after 5-6 days I adapted to the loads). In terms of nutrition: standard breakfasts - it seems that there is nothing to put on a plate, except for eggs, but you don’t leave hungry (by the way, sausages are more edible than in Egypt and Greece), we had lunch and dinner in cafes - large portions, everything is delicious, fresh seafood and fruits - what still needed. The price tag is on average 300-500 baht. for two with beer. Beaches: Patong Beach itself is convenient due to the presence of palm trees and shade from them (all sun loungers and umbrellas disappeared from the beaches of Thailand after the spring government decree - everyone sunbathes on towels and mats), but the water is unclear. More like located in 8 km. Karon beach (fine, snow-white sand, singing underfoot) and Kata beach (less crowded and cozy) - you can get there by bike or very expensive by tuk-tuk or taxi (same price) -350-450 baht. one way. In Patong, the price tag for a taxi is from 200 baht. In general, at prices, holidays on the island are more expensive than on the mainland (for comparison, a pineapple in Phuket is 15-20 baht versus 3 pineapples for twenty on the mainland) But the impressions received from the holiday far exceed the financial losses of the family budget. The beauty of Similan, elephant riding, rafting in the jungle, waterfalls and beautiful Buddhist temples, swimming in the gentle, warm (+33 degrees! ) Sea with sea turtles - this is only part of what impressed me, but this is a topic for a separate story. . Bottom line: the hotel is suitable for a budget holiday and unpretentious tourists. You need to go to Tai at least once to touch the exotic of Southeast Asia.
