I stayed at this hotel last year in December. You can walk to Kata Beach in less than 10 minutes (if you don’t check all the shops along the way :) But there is also a tuk-tuk bus, it costs 100 baht one way - if you are too lazy to go, it’s hot after all. As for Karon, you most likely won’t get there yourself, but you will pay about 200 baht for a taxi / tuk-tuk.
If you are not too lazy, I advise you to go (preferably for the whole day) to Nai Harn Beach, it is located south of Kata. A taxi or tuk-tuk will cost about 400-500 baht, as you bargain.
