I really liked the room - with a terrace by the pool, a lot of space, there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only moment when washing in the bathroom a lot of water gets on the floor, I had to put a towel on it, which did not save much. Cleaning daily, good, staff pleasant and unobtrusive.
The hotel is located in a small village, close to other hotels, several shops and restaurants. Opposite the exit is the 7/11 store, Family Market. Nearby there are exchange offices and ATMs, several massage parlors, good cafes - we personally liked the Irish pub (irish pub) - there is only an Irish name, there is a choice of Thai and European cuisine, there is even a local variation of borscht and dumplings. The portions are large and the prices are normal.
The breakfasts at the hotel are simply wonderful - not only the standard scrambled eggs / sausages, but also fish in pineapples, chicken, french fries, vegetables, natural yoghurts, fruits. Everything is very tasty and satisfying. We had a very hearty breakfast, fortified ourselves with fruit at lunch, and already went to dinner at local establishments.
The area is quiet, away from noisy parties. Forty minutes drive to the center is long and expensive. I wanted to diversify my vacation, so they began to break through the options for excursions on the Internet. We found good options without prepayment with a minimum surcharge for the transfer (Bang Tao is considered a remote area, keep in mind). We visited the Phi Phi Islands and the Bamboo Island, went to the Big Buddha and observation platforms on the observation deck with a Russian guide (without stopping in shops and factories) - we liked everything very much. To whom it will be relevant, I will tell you the number.
I really liked the hotel, definitely worth the money and corresponds to the star rating. A great place to relax away from the noise and crowds.
The hotel is built on the beach. It is such a letter P, in the center is a square pool, a stream of trees and immediately a sandy strip to the water. The hotel buildings are of modern architecture, such a light honeycomb accordion, without a bias towards the local pagodas. Very organically fits into the dense greenery of the territory.
The territory is generally pleasant, it is not as huge as in those Thai hotels where we used to be, but it is super green and well-groomed, after the beach it is very inviting to take a walk.
About the beach: Bangtao Beach has its own, with free sunbeds and towels, but, of course, no one bothers you to wander and swim in other places on Bang Tao Beach. ) The staff cleans the sand daily early in the morning and it is always in good condition. There were big waves three times and the water was muddy after that, it was impossible to swim, you had to move to the pool or go to the city. We went to Patong while my husband and son were boating, I went shopping in Ocean Plaza. On the bus round trip, three hundred and fifty rubles from the nose, if by taxi, then a thousand round-trip for everyone, so if you are a trio or more, then it is available.
About food.
Each time, directing my steps to this country, I happily prepare for a break from pots and pans and I know that my male halves will not have any whims of “tasty-tasting”. So it was this time. Breakfasts are quite standard for Tai, rice in different variations, omelettes, muesli, sausages, ham, etc. , etc. , and to this there are various delicious papaya-mamaya. So no one left hungry or dissatisfied. Here on the Internet, somewhere in the comments, someone wrote that such breakfasts become boring on the third day. What are you talking about! Maybe you and Roma Abramovich are having a table? I usually manage to grab a sandwich with sausage in the morning, and fry an egg for the peasants. So hello to you, Sirians, but I never got tired of it in two weeks. ))) In addition, breakfast is breakfast, and lunch and dinner are scheduled. Sometimes we ate at the hotel, sometimes we wanted more authenticity, unsmoothness or something.
A number of food stalls are scattered along the coast, of various formats, from restaurants to eateries where they cook on their knees. )))
We lived in a room on the second floor overlooking the surf. The number is forty meters, the size suited us quite well, our whole apartment is a little larger. Cleaned up diligently, things did not rummage around. In general, they did not see any sidelong glance from the staff, nor manifestations of laziness and laxity, very pleasant people. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, they allowed themselves one excursion. With pleasure we rolled up to the island of cinematic Bond, I had to explain to my son all the way what kind of uncle he was. ))) Well, the beauty there and from above, and in the water, and underground in the caves is simply unreal. A very successful trip. )))
The room was spacious, but they seem to be all the same in this hotel. In general, of course, the service cannot be compared with Turkish, cleaning, waiters, people at the reception - everything is completely different. Our eldest, fortunately a young force, plays (15 years old, the third year in a rocking chair disappears) - on the very first day he turned his head to the tap in the shower, so ten minutes later a businesslike master came and fixed everything, otherwise I thought we would drown. By the way, they did not ask for money for repairs.
It is very pleasant that the sea was visible from the room, there was no trade for it at the reception and no one extorted money. The hotel has a beautiful beach, clean sand. The younger one was engaged in sandy urban planning every day, being distracted only by ice cream, now we are thinking of aiming it at architectural))
Very good feeding, there is plenty to choose from: meat, fish with vegetables, and fruits in abundance. I honestly got hooked on a massage, I tried it for the first time on the third day and after that I already went before every dinner, these Thais are simply unreal masters, you go out - and like a freshman. After a ten-year experience of expeditions in Altai, I have sciatica, and the trigeminal nerve, etc. , etc. , but here it’s just like a new one.
For the sake of small things, they spent money on a trip to the park in Fanta Sea, but the rides there got everyone, not only their son. We also hit the island of Koh Samui, looked at butterflies, rode elephants through the tropics.
In general, it is not a pity that they replaced traditional Egypt with Tai. It was not for nothing that everyone convinced me that Tai gives absolutely indescribable emotions to the people of central Russia. )
Of course, the name has changed a bit, but the essence remains the same.
We have been to Thailand for the fourth time and have always stayed in 4 stars, but we have never seen such "sludge".
1. What are the jacuzzis in the room????? ? (We took deluxe rooms). We had a jacuzzi in the bathroom on the floor, because the water from the shower, which poured in all directions, including the ceiling, somehow magically flowed into one stream, flowed along the gutter between the wall and the bathtub and the waterfall fell on gender (there are photos if anyone is interested)
2. "Disposable" slippers were stained and with holes (there are pictures)
3. The territory of the hotel and restaurant is shabby, there are broken lights near the paths, no one bathes in the pool, because its color is terribly dark blue and it seems that it is very dirty. And in fact, the pool does not shine with cleanliness: I saw 2 times how the hotel staff (cleaners) washed their slippers in the pool.
Don't think, I'm not a capricious "fifa" with spread fingers and could survive all these troubles, if not for one BUT ...This hotel is located among the garbage dumps and there is no way to go out in the evening, so we took a car day) and EVERY DAY went to other beaches to people!! ! The road ate 40 minutes to Kata beach and 40 minutes. from there. It's wonderful there, of course.
The beach is not very wide, sunbeds are paid (for two - 100 baht), umbrellas are old, in the center of the beach there is an ugly tent-cafe, but don't let that bother you, feel free to order fruits and drinks there, you can also have lunch in it, they cook quite edible pizza and be sure to try the shrimp in batter and they have a menu in Russian. Dinner was not taken, but the breakfasts are the same as in all fours. The sea, of course, is not as transparent and beautiful as in Egypt, but better than our black one. Near the hotel there are several shops, bars and cafes. When you check into the hotel, be sure to check out the Phuket guide in Russian, they usually lie on a table in the lobby.
To the tourist center of Patong about 15 minutes by car, it costs about 900 baht (round trip), a tuk-tuk is cheaper, but very tiring. We advise you to get to know your driver on your first trip and, having agreed to use only his services in the future, ask for a discount.
Take his business card and next time boldly approach him. In Patong, souvenirs seemed to us more diverse than in Bangkok, and also, pay attention, very cheap flowers are sold there, you can buy a large bouquet that will delight you for a long time, decorating the room. Be sure to try the foot massage. Do not forget to visit the town of Phuket itself, nothing special, but you can safely walk around, see how the locals live, there are few tourists there.
Local food is tasteless, you can only try Tom-yum soup, just ask not to put pepper. Try seafood, just make sure that the chef does not pour his sauce on your fish (let them serve sauces separately), otherwise their sweet gravy can spoil the taste of expensive seafood.
If you get tired of local food, then in Patong there is a Russian cafe "at Xenia", and for lovers of Japanese cuisine, we advise you to visit the restaurant "OISHI EXPRESS" with a buffet, the entrance is about 700 baht, tell the driver that it is next to Sirirod Hospital towards To Kathu.
Excursions were bought not from a guide, it cost 30% cheaper and did not regret it at all, but for this you need to know at least a little English. I liked the local show "FantaSea" and the excursion to the island of James Bond. If you want to see really clear blue water, then go to the Similian Islands or Krabi Island, these are additional excursions and you need to negotiate them separately. I did not like "rafting + elephant riding" - descent on the water for about forty minutes, then some small waterfall, tasteless lunch and thirty minutes of elephant riding, and this excursion takes all day until 18.00. If you still decide, be sure to specify that the rafting was not 5 but 7 km.
The excursion to Phi Phi Island is very chaotic and tiring, and no matter how you advise it, choose the Similian Islands.
And a few words about Bangkok.
The city itself is very busy and gassed, so the tuk-tuk is only in the resort. We lived at the Prince Palace Hotel, the hotel is not very good, but you spend little time there. Leaving the hotel, be sure to take his business card with the name and address. All the time, except for the prescribed excursion program (on the second day until 17.00), which is not at all impressive, we wandered around the city and shopping centers, where you can have a bite to eat. There are interesting amusement parks in Bangkok, but the drive is long and usually takes the whole day. We advise you to visit the observation deck of the hotel "Baiyoke Sky" (200 baht). The hotel is located in the heart of the city and is the tallest building. Please note that after visiting the site, you are entitled to a free cocktail on the 79th floor if you have an entrance ticket.
In the same hotel you can dine, be careful, on different floors there are different prices for dinner (450.900 baht). Dinner buffet. We really liked this hotel and dinner, if you have the opportunity, stay in Bangkok at this hotel. Be sure to visit the night bazaar, it is open until 24.00. In Bangkok, use a taxi, it is much cheaper there than in Phuket, just ask to turn on the meter.
For two weeks of rest, we spent $ 2.000 for two, we didn’t show off, but we didn’t deny ourselves anything in particular. And finally, a few tips:
Feel free to change any part of the money at the airport, the rate there is the same as in all banks of the city and the island $ 1 - 35 baht. In hotels, the course is underestimated. Don't forget to set aside 20 baht to tip the receptionist. In the hotel, do not leave any food on the tables, put everything in the refrigerator, otherwise you will meet such cute Thai cockroaches five centimeters long.
Take a fumigator, and close the windows at night.
Take care and again take care of yourself from the sun's rays, constantly use protective creams, especially your face, shoulders, hands and feet. If you ride a scooter, lubricate the entire surface of your legs well. This is not a simple parting word, this moment is really very important, because the sun in Thailand is just nuclear and we suffered a lot from our negligence in this matter.
Be sure to ask your tour company for the phone numbers of the meeting parties, both in Bangkok and Phuket. Learn English, without it in Thailand nowhere. That, perhaps, is all.
Thailand is exotic and friendly. We cannot say that Thailand is a fairy tale, but the country is very interesting and we had a wonderful rest, which is what we wish you.
The only negative is the boredom. The center of evening and night life-Patong is far away and a taxi ride is quite expensive, especially if you compare the price of a taxi with the price in Pattaya. The cost of a one-way taxi is 400 baht. There are several shops near the hotel. True choice there is no fruit in them, there is little fruit, fortunately they were in Pattaya before and they came off for fruit there, and if you only come to this hotel, you won’t feel the whole variety of “fruit life” in Thailand. But there is one shop, on the way to Kata- beach (5 minutes walk), where there is a very cool selection of alcohol (I advise you to try Thai rum-Similan, but not whiskey).
As for food, I liked the restaurant at the hotel, very tasty grilled fish and relatively inexpensive, and there is an Italian cafe to the left of the hotel, they serve very decent food. Moreover, not only traditional pizza and pasta are good, but all seafood, but prices are compared to Pattaya, of course, high, and if compared to Kiev, then just for nothing.
In general, I advise you to go to this hotel either with a company or with children. But in order to experience all the delights of a holiday in Thailand, I advise you to visit both Pattaya and Phuket.
