Regarding the crocodile barbecue - it tastes like poultry meat, only very fatty, and according to the consequences ... my husband was very poisoned, for three days then he only ate rice and water, although he never complained about his stomach.

I am not a fan of spicy, exotic, unfamiliar. BUT in Thailand I eat local food with great pleasure. Never got poisoned. Husband got poisoned by this cursed crocodile at Tiger Zoo, well, they added this point to the "black list".

I want to add that after the first trip to Thailand, I got rid of heartburn forever (sorry for the details), and my husband took off his glasses (not minus 7, of course, but he was driving only with glasses). They ate exclusively local food, spicy, seafood, with all the spices, vegetables and herbs and mango-pineapple in very large quantities. Maybe it's just a coincidence, maybe I just want to see a connection in this, but the fact remains.

Yes, Ayutthaya is worth a visit. Not necessarily from Pattaya, you can plan this trip from BKK.

As for Thai food, you need to get used to it gradually. I love spicy and seafood, and naturally, on the very first day I ate shrimp, crabs and the hottest sauces. Sorry for the details, I never suffer from a disorder at all, but then I drank all the imodium, and a week after the first day I ate pineapples, and when I really wanted to eat, I had to look for dumplings and pizza.
