After the ban on smoking on the beach and the renovation of the beautification of the beaches in Pattaya in 2018, has anything changed for the better?
Interested in whether it became cleaner on the beaches of Pattaya in 2018? Which is better to swim in Jomtien, Najomtien? Central part? There is no desire to wander every day on the island, yes, a couple of days, a couple of days of excursions, and the rest of the time I would like to go somewhere, and on a budget.

No prohibitions will stop Pattaya from being Pattaya. ))) If at the very least you can still swim in Jomtien, then in the center - this is for extreme people. )))
And what prevents you from going to the island and staying there - renting a hotel and spending the night? Why dangle every day back? I can advise a small hotel Booncheun Resort, it is on booking.com. It costs $38 for a double room with an ocean view. Just a MUST to take an ocean view! The surcharge is small, and listening to the surf at night is priceless! )) Breakfast is included in the price, and you can eat inexpensively in the evening 100 meters towards the pier.
I have already developed for myself such an algorithm for a trip to Pattaya:
1) buy the cheapest ticket with the cheapest hotel in the city center so that you can walk to the pier and Walking Street
2) use the money saved on the tour to book a hotel on the island
3) 50/50 spend the night on the island and in the city, appearing in Pattaya only for evening entertainment or before leaving for excursions

Hello. Sunbeds and beaches are cleaned on Wednesdays. In general, everything seems to be unchanged)

You can swim at Wongamata. Much cleaner than Najomtien!

Thank you, we will think and calculate all the options.
I just think, is the sea really dirtier in Pattaya than in GOA.
I really liked Sri Lanka and GOA, but I don’t like holidays without the sea

nadin65, the beaches of GOA and Sri Lanka are many times dirtier than the beaches on Wongamat or Najomtien! But the cleanest sea and the cleanest beaches in Odessa! Of course, Crimea is cleaner, but many times more expensive!

;) Laugh, Have a nice day!

nadin65, traveled around Southeast Asia ... Senody will go to Odessa! Been there quite often. And under the USSR, and under Poroshenko! I really like Odessa! This is Pattaevka, not polluted to lawlessness!

nadin65, the beaches in the center of Pattaya are exactly the city beaches. A narrow strip of beach and behind it a promenade packed with people and cars. With all the "oriental flavor" - dirt, rats and prostitutes flooding the sidewalks in the evenings. Away from the center, the situation is easier, a little cleaner, there are fewer people ... But flying so far for the sake of SUCH a beach is still a dubious pleasure. But on the island of Koh Lan, the beaches already look like beaches. And the water is pretty, and nature is present. I strongly advise you to consider my option with an overnight stay on the island. In the evening on the island, of course, it's boring. Therefore, you can, for example, stay there for a couple of nights, and then return to Pattaya. Admire the evening debauchery, go to go-go and porn shows, and the next morning go for two days r. Kwai (this is the BEST excursion from Pattaya). After arriving from an excursion, you can again hang out in the evening in the city and again for a couple of days on the island.
According to this scenario, we got the perfect and boring vacation! Have a good rest!

Yes! And do not forget that, as you were correctly written above, there is a sanitary day everywhere on the beaches! Both in the city and on the island! Sunbeds are not allowed on this day. Although no one drives sunbathing on towels and their mats. It's usually like this on Wednesdays. So it is better to plan a tour for this day.

Pepper, you, like, have not been to Pattaya for a long time! Beach chairs? What do you mean? Embankment, "crammed with people and cars" Where is it ?! No one swims in the area of the first beach for a long time! Clean beaches on Kolyan? Where is it?! The mud is the same as in the area of the first Bichka! Plus crowds of packs, turkeys and a host of Chinese! It's good that the crap "Military Beach" has not yet been advised!

Thailand is not the country where you should go for a beach holiday! If you want to swim in the clear sea and soak up the sand - you are on the way to Odessa or (if you have a large number of banknotes) - to our Crimea! And if money burns your thigh, then go to Putin's dacha in Sochi!

Kolhoznic, why write nonsense? If you want to be witty - go comment on "peek-a-boo", Petrosyan, damn it. People go to Pattaya and they want a beach. Do you have better deals than Ko Lan? Yes, there is almost no bathing in the Beach Road area, although there is nominally a beach. And there are loungers too. And people are on fire. In fact, that's exactly what I wrote about. There was no need to repeat my words, as if you were writing something opposite.
And on Koh Lan there are large beaches with Chinese, and small, quite cozy beaches with a small number of people. Who wants, he will find. And only a pig will find dirt everywhere.
The last time I was there was less than a year ago. I don't think anything has changed in that time.

Pepper, which beaches of Kolyan and during what periods were you? I have been since 12/27/2017. until 01/13/2018 on Thiene ... There are just a lot of pigs from the city on the Neva! Of course, the "Petersburgers" are somewhat better than the "Mascals", but they are also a hefty filthy people!

Kolhoznic, I've been to ALL the public beaches of Koh Lan. Absolutely for everyone! For the entire stay, we rented motorbikes right at the hotel and rode them around all corners of the island. For those who are afraid to drive themselves, there are a bunch of taxi drivers on every beach.
Tawaen and Samae are huge beaches with lots of people. True, and there is so much space that there is enough for everyone. But not for introverts.
Tien is a smaller, very pretty beach, especially in the area where the trees come close to the water. But there are also a lot of people.
Monkey Beach - once you can visit for a change, look at the monkeys. But no more. Dirty and heaps of hedgehogs at low tide.
We liked Tai Yai the most, where we arrived in the morning before the arrival of the ferries from Pattaya. It can be reached on foot from the hotel and Na Ban Pier. The beach is picturesque, small, few people.
P.S. And keep your words about the "filthy people" to yourself. Generally speaking, I don't care where you are from. But you have already proved your bad manners to the full.

Rested, returned. Thailand did not produce special emotions. Sri Lanka causes more positive emotions for us!
To spend less time on the road to Kolan, you can take a minibus 10 minutes from the center to Naklua for 10 baht. You can try on the beach from the Garden Sea View Resort to use the shower and sun loungers closer to dinner, the beach is clean and pleasant.
We rested in the central part near the southern street, the Chaplin Inn 3 * hotel, the review has already been posted on the site.
