Tours go there to watch and hang out. Therefore, the hotel is only in the center and the cheapest. There, only take a shower and sleep for a couple of hours after the disco before the departure time for the next excursion. And across the sea to the islands. There and the hotel will not interfere with a good one. For example, on Koh Chang in Paradise Resort.

It's like going to a car show, sitting in one car and driving back. Even if this car is very cool, but then why go so far to the exhibition. This car (one) can be found in your city and sit in it or in a neighboring one. And ALL cars go to the exhibition, or at least the maximum number of them in the allotted time. Thailand is the same exhibition and sitting on the same island seems to me not very correct. You can also sit on the beach in Russia.
