On the plus side, food and a large pool, that's all I can say on the positive side. I expected much better!
the beach is beautiful and well maintained, but the water is dirty. I don't recommend swimming. There is a spa center on site. There were few guests at the hotel during our stay. This was also a plus. the staff is friendly. All issues were resolved quickly. There is free internet in the lobby area. (two computers) All the necessary programs are installed. Time is not limited. At the hotel (one block before the main building) there is a gift shop. The choice is huge, the prices pleasantly surprise. You can also buy shoes, clothes and swimwear there. There is also a good massage center nearby. Sabayi. I recommend.
Cons: remote area. But getting to the center by tuktuk is not difficult. The journey is about 10-15 minutes. There is no beach as such. Swimming in this area is not possible. To get to Naklua Road, you need to go through abandoned nooks and crannies. Be careful. We were robbed there. Well, the entertainment infrastructure is not developed. Quiet calm area.
Inconveniently located - far from the center, the area is clean but small
I really liked the hotel. We took different rooms: friends lived in a standard room, and we lived in a Junior Suite with a sea view on the 10th floor. The rooms in the hotel are designer, there are several types of decoration, ours was called Cubism, our friends had Pop Art. Both of these design solutions are very interesting.
We took the Junior Suite for a reason. The suite consists of two rooms: a bedroom with a toilet and a bathroom, and a living room with a large sofa, a coffee table and a long counter - either a bar or a kitchen one.
Plasma panels - in both rooms. We decided that we needed a place where four of us could hang out, and this living room served just that purpose. Room size - more than 70 square meters. m. And the bedroom is just the size of a standard room. That is, we had a bedroom per family plus a common living room. We decided that it would be more convenient, and we were not mistaken. It may seem strange to someone to come to Pattaya and hang out in a hotel, but we went for 2 weeks and knew that bars could get boring, I don’t like walking late at night at all, but spending an evening in a nice room with beer and chatting is not while sitting on the bed, it is very pleasant.
The main buildings where we lived were recently renovated (a couple of years ago, as far as I know), so everything is brand new. The hall is huge, there is always a place to sit comfortably with a laptop (there is free Wi-Fi in the hall, I did not catch it in the rooms).
The staff is very polite, the lifters take it under the hood) True, there were a lot of people in the hotel, so no special attention was paid to each guest, but it was not necessary.
Breakfasts are very tasty and varied - at breakfast you can have lunch and dinner, as there are always hot dishes, side dishes and even soups. We had lunch and dinner in the center or in nearby restaurants.
The hotel pool is large and very interesting - multi-level, with some nooks and crannies that you can explore, and a waterfall. Across the road from the buildings - the territory of the villas of the same hotel, there is a swimming pool, but smaller and more boring. And our pool always had free sunbeds, which pleased.
The hotel is quite far from the center, it takes an hour and a half to walk, which is not very pleasant in the heat.
But it takes 10 minutes to drive by car - a taxi costs about 150 baht (the baht and the ruble are almost equal, it’s convenient that you don’t need to transfer), you can also walk 5 minutes to the tuk-tuk stop and get to the center for 20 baht per person. The very center is Walking Street - as the guide told us, it's something like the Arbat) I would not say so, but the meaning is clear - a pedestrian street, where in the evenings there are only tourists. There is really a lot of entertainment, the vast majority are obscene) But, I think, it makes no sense to paint Pattaya especially, and there are tons of reviews about it.
We went to Koh Samet for one night. I recommend - a paradise island, white sand, clear sea. There really is nothing to do there, but the beach holiday is wonderful - just the exact opposite of Pattaya.
At the hotel, we spent almost every evening an hour or two in our living room: we looked at and sorted the pictures taken during the day, drank local (by the way, very pleasant) beer, watched movies (there are almost no Russian channels, but we watched in English). So we were very pleased with this combination of numbers.
If you write about the hotel itself - this is a 4, although soulless. The staff is not that unfriendly, it is generally AS IF THERE IS NO !! ! No one will offer juice, coffee by the pool. . The exception is the waitresses at breakfast, they did everything to please the guests! We rested in the wing of the VILLA - this is the only thing you need to take (if you, of course, decide to go to it) - common buildings - squalor in the style of the 60s . . I can imagine what a paddling pool on the floors! In the case of the villas there is really a very beautiful garden (! ) And a swimming pool. The rooms are normal (but without puppy delight). SUMMARY: if you do not plan to leave the hotel grounds and swim only in the pool - this will be the right choice. If you want something else, think twice!
We only had breakfast - but the breakfasts are very good, a large selection of dishes, a lot of delicious pastries. Breakfast from 6 00 to 1.30, which is also very convenient. Mostly Russians, Chinese (very noisy) and Koreans rest in the hotel. This is a hotel for those for whom party places within walking distance are not a prerequisite. Because the hotel is located on the outskirts of the city. But tuk-tuk ride is ok. 15 minutes to the center. At the hotel, the beach is really only a beach, and no one swims in the sea. But to the sea at the Garden Sea View hotel is approx. 3 minutes, and walk for 7 minutes. But the pool is gorgeous!
Of the excursions, I really liked the trip to the River Kwai - I recommend it to everyone). On it - visiting the floating market, riding elephants, spending the night in a hotel on the water, and of course, rafting on the river. And also liked the island of Koh Samet with white sand.
In general, I recommend this hotel, I think whoever takes it never says later that Pattaya is a terrible resort. But hotels in the city center are mostly modest, often without a pool and only with a city beach. But this is already an amateur). I was in Thailand for the first time, I never thought that I would like it so much. Now I don’t even want to go to Egypt - but hunting in Southeast Asia. In general, the plus of Thailand is a big positive charge that you get there. Such a country - everyone smiles, the climate is fertile, the religion of Buddhism is democratic, all colors are bright (even taxis are pink, bright green). So some pluses.
The hotel is divided into two parts: villas and 2 high-rise buildings. Reception is separate. We lived in villas. Very quiet and peaceful, perfect for families. The area is clean, lots of greenery. No one speaks Russian, I had to remember the school curriculum. There were no problems.
Settled without problems in the room that was paid. The room is clean, the furniture is new. In the room: bath and shower, bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas, safe, TV, DVD. Kettle, cups, tea, coffee, cream, sugar (all in bags). Drinking water in the mini-bar is free of charge. They put it every day, even if they didn’t drink all of it.
Soap, shampoo, body lotion, cotton buds, shower caps, thread, shaving kit were always there, if something was used, they reported instantly. Cleaning daily. Left 20 baht every day. Even in the evening they sometimes knocked, asked if they needed anything. Towels were changed every day, bed linen every other day. One morning I spilled a little powder on a clean bed, replaced it the same day.
We only paid for breakfast. They ate to the bone. The menu is standard, but the number of dishes made up for it. Daily: scrambled eggs (toppings of your choice), scrambled eggs, rice with shrimp, soup (you added the spices you liked), sausages, bacon, fish and meat cutlets, croutons, something like meat and vegetable stew, salads, cheese, vegetables, cereals, yogurts, pastries, fruits. For 13 days, I didn’t even try something. Upon arrival, the hotel gave a free invitation to 1 dinner at their restaurant. Eyes wide with abundance. I ate seafood and sushi. They were satisfied. But we didn't go anymore, it was too expensive. Lunch was rare, mostly just dinner. We visited a sea restaurant (I would say - a cafe) a 5-minute walk from the hotel. We ordered soup with coconut milk with shark and shrimp. Very tasty fish in sweet and sour sauce. Once we went to the ice cream parlor at the entrance to the hotel. It applies to our hotel. The coffee was tolerable, but the ice cream was not to my liking. Didn't go anymore.
The disadvantages of the hotel include the beach, but this is the trouble of the whole of Pattaya. You had to go to the beach to the high-rise buildings (1 min. ). We went on excursions almost every day, we did not count on a beach holiday. It's a pity to waste time : ) In the morning and in the evening we swam in the pool. Once we went to the islands.
Once I woke up in bed with small red ants, and did not understand where they came from. But the night before they ate fruit, maybe they washed their hands badly ?? ? This was the only time, no one else from the living creatures in the room was observed.
The air conditioner works very loudly, the first night they suffered, then they did not turn it on for the night, they slightly opened the windows, they did not suffocate.
And, finally, if you go to this hotel, be sure to visit the Temple of Truth. It is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We haven't seen this yet. The largest wooden structure in the world!
