The thief was not embarrassed by the fact that the amount on each was signed. Gold, maps, documents remained intact. In the morning they called the hotel guide, Christina, she explained to the Thais on the phone what had happened to us. They sent us to watch the recording from the camera, in real time.... I probably should have spent my twenty-four hours trying to find the thief.
