Are there any vaccinations needed? And protection from mosquitoes and other evil spirits?
We are going to Thailand on November 6, I read a lot about insects, what do you recommend?

I returned from Pattaya on September 19, I also went “prepared” with a raptor from mosquitoes and insects, stocked up on medicines for all occasions, but fortunately, nothing more was needed except for headache pills. By the way, my head hurt after a Thai head massage. I didn’t observe mosquitoes at all, even when we went on an excursion to the Kwai River, we lived in a hotel near the river, there were no mosquitoes there either. But it is still worth taking medicines for headaches and temperature, and especially for the stomach (for many, their food is not very suitable).
Have a good rest!

Our immunologists recommend vaccinations, but practically no one does them. Yes, it's already too late for you, these vaccinations are made in advance from six months to 3 months. We have never done it while we are alive:)))))) And it is better to have medicines and a fumigator with you.

I agree. Medications should be kept to a minimum. You won't understand anything in their pharmacies.
There are mosquitoes and in the evening on the street they are very reminiscent of themselves - accordingly, I would recommend not a fumigator, but some kind of spray or ointment for the street.

mosquitoes never touched me, I don’t remember them at all. And there they took medicine in a pharmacy for a cold to his wife. There's even Aukmentin in sachets of 1 gr. We have over 500 mg. in the dose is not certified, as in all of Europe. So no fears and go to the land of smiles! Have a good trip!

If you know the language minimally, then it is better to take medicines in Thailand. Excellent quality. I take aspirin for a year ahead. And much more. And vaccinations in Thailand are stupid

Medicine and drugs in Thailand are super, I fully agree with the two previous reviews. In pharmacies in general there is interesting. Some medicines are poured by weight, and sometimes there is an abstract in Russian. Do not take a lot of medicines with you - I rely on my experience and numerous reviews of tourists. If you suddenly need repellents - calmly buy on the spot, starting from their Asterisk-type balms (mosquitoes, etc. are drawn on the package) - this is if you don’t understand anything at all in a conversation with a pharmacist.

It all depends on when and to which region you are flying. At one time I traveled all over the north of Thailand and no problems with insects, incl. with mosquitoes, did not feel. And this time in the southern part of Thailand I was tortured with mosquitoes. Fresh information, October of this year. And in Pattaya and on the islands there are mosquitoes, a lot, they bite painfully. Much will depend on what your hotel represents and where it is located. If there is a lot of greenery on the territory, if in Pattaya it is located near the canal ... In any case, I would advise you to insure against mosquitoes and take a fumigator with you (although some hotels have it in the room) ..

Well, at least someone else was attacked by mosquitoes :)
And then I already thought that I had a dream - so everyone actively began to convince that there were no mosquitoes in Thailand.
I agree with 1ean. There are none in the city center, but there are a lot of them near the hotel bungalows in the green / I was also in October 2008 - maybe this is a special season for "blood drinkers"?/

They tried to drink blood from me in May in Krabi, and it was in the bungalows that were in the thickets. We arrived in the evening, the room was full of mosquitoes, because the window in the bathroom was open. It’s good that I had a fumigator with me, I didn’t have to jump around the neighborhood at night looking for where to buy it. In restaurants, waiters put a smoke coil near the table without fail, otherwise they ate mercilessly.

There was once a curious case - we were sitting in a restaurant on the beach, I wanted to order a mojito. The waiter nodded his head, as if he understood. Five minutes later, a paratrooper appeared on the beach with smoking spirals ... they thought I was saying "mosquitoes."

Thanks to all who responded! We decided to podstrazovatsya - take a fumigator with you and a mosquito repellent! Happy travels and happy holidays everyone!

They were in March 2009. They did not get vaccinated, although they ate in street eateries both in Pattaya and Cambodia. Not once has anyone had any problems. If in doubt - 50 grams of cognac for disinfection! :) Mosquitoes tormented Koh Chang, they didn’t think of taking fumigators, but they would be useful there, so take anti-mosquito products.
аватар lenochka333
but what about the snakes and all sorts of creeping muck on the beaches and in the hotels?
аватар Fleta
no one, except for cockroaches (small, "ours" :), has ever crawled in a hotel in Pattaya :) And, well, maybe lizards dart around on Koh Chang ... in my opinion, I even saw one in the room, but she ran into a corner somewhere, so she didn’t bother.
