Ski rental 8-12 euros / day, cheaper to buy in Kiev. Lifts in the Low Tatras from 30 euros / day, it is cheaper to take for 5 or 6 days. In the High Tatras lifts are cheaper, but there is worse skiing. Cost from 25 euros / day / person.

Is it more profitable to take skis at the hotel? Or directly on the slopes?
аватар lanos
Look for prices, for example. tatry.sk Read my review, although the last time was a long time ago. I will laugh for a very long time that the High Tatras are skating girsche. So that the hand withered to write such. The problem with such sites is the presence of such smart people.

take skis in Slovakia for the entire period of skiing - it's cheaper. When you decide on a hotel and a place, I can tell you something else.
аватар yacek27
Already decided. Hotel Morava. Tatr. Lomnica

dear "smart " lanos.
Do you know how to count and add the number of lengths of tracks ??! In all 3 ski centers Tatranska Lomnica, Shtrebsky and Smokovtsy together no more than 30 km of rolled tracks and wasted. In the Low Tatras 54 km of trails and all gathered in one place. The only advantage in the High Tatras is the large number of hotels with different wallets and ski heights (especially Tatra Lomnica). Not to mention that they are all at a distance of 15 - 20 km from each other. And you need to ride the train with skis, if the car is easier. However, in VT skipas acts on all three zones.
Prices for ski passes www.vktatry.sk (high Tatras) www.jasna.sk (Low Tatras) hotel information www.slovakiya.net.ua
If the High Ones are interested in watching Sasanka (TL) and Toliar (SP), they are a bit more expensive than Morava, but the service is better.
Personally, I like NT more and I ride there every winter for 4 years in a row, although everyone has their own !!!

beds are better to take in the hotel, they are there for 1-3 euros will be cheaper (simple level) than on the hill. And you don't need any collateral, because if it's on a hill, they can ask for a cash deposit and the prices are higher !!!

I have a certain tourist credo, I consider it very important to provide absolutely reliable information about the place of rest. And I can't stand it when they write all sorts of nonsense. The best place to ski in Slovakia is the high Tatras. It is truth. But this does not mean that you cannot have a good rest in the Low Tatras, or in Krompachy, or somewhere else. Simply the best place is Strbske Pleso, located in the High Tatras. There is no such advantage for cactation - "everything is in one place". Whatever the place - 2 days and it gets boring. To each his own, and I don't impose my opinion. The question "how many meters from the hotel to the track" is the question by which I recognize the kettle. The best place in Slovakia for skiing is the High Tatras. And there are no bad options here.

I would like to look at a professional skier who walks in ski boots on foot to the 700 m track and say that this is normal !!!
аватар lanos
That I take this seriously is easy to understand by reading my reviews. And you came here just to shit. I will not let. The last word will always be mine.
Your last comment says that you are even worse than a teapot, you are a teapot pretending to be a pro.
The pros will look for steeper slopes, and they are never near the hotel, and any instructor always starts with instructions on how to wear skis and boots, not to mention that there are inexpensive storage points near all slopes and places in Slovakia, in addition, you can always agree with the rental to leave them for the night. And if you plan tomorrow in another place, then in all hotels there is a place where to hide them, and in a bus and train (tram) a place to put them. Everything is thought out there.
I got it, smart guy, already, you will write more comments, you will just receive.

I wonder what I'm talking about, because I wrote that I like skiing in the Low Tatras where 54 km of trails and the High Tatras where they are not more than 30 km ??? Is it possible for you to ski super in Romania, where in all resorts (Marian, Poiana Brasov, Azuga) the length of all trails is not more than 30 km ?? And the height of the mountains is not higher than 1600-1800 m and not to mention the high probability of no snow due to warm winters !!!
Note that the more ski days you take, the cheaper they are per day!
And most importantly as a smart "professional " - real professionals never rent a bed, because it's the same as using other people's times, and have their own, because they care for them like a car!
Good luck with your blogging!

And by the way, a quote from your work Slovakia 1995-2005: "I in Slovakia, as a rule, the first day I rented equipment for the entire period of stay, a significant discount. "
So why do you recommend people to take a different place every day :)))
Where is the logic ???
аватар lanos
"It suits me" and "Low Tatras are better" - these are 2 big differences, as we say. Do not impose your opinion on anyone, this is the first law. Toby is good, but the High Tatras are the best place to ski. That's the problem. And about where to get skis, you read what I write, what are the problems with the Russian language? I have no problems with Ukrainian.
аватар orion-in
1. The arguments ran out, the usual rudeness began (I didn’t offer it to you) and we don’t know each other!
2. "but the High Tatras are the best place for skiing" - Do not impose your opinion on anyone, this is the first law. -No comments from me here!
3. About ski rental I quote you: Slovakia 1995-2005: "In Slovakia, usually on the first day I rented equipment for the entire stay, a significant discount."
I repeat on purpose!!!
4. I was convinced about your knowledge of the Ukrainian language :))) in this phrase: "I have no problems with Ukrainian." It is visible, but you cannot connect the words 2 together !!
5. With such knowledge, it is better to take a ride to Slovakia again, because as they say in Odessa, Slovakia in 2005 and Slovakia in 2010 are 2 big differences !!
This is where I stop further correspondence, because this is a dispute with the wall :)
аватар lanos
Stop because I will have the last word. It is enough to read my reviews and what I wrote here to understand that there is no contradiction, including with regard to inverter rental. And the discussion began precisely because this subject tried to impose his opinion, which was deeply erroneous. And what I write is highly objective.
аватар yacek27
Please do not quarrel. All answers are important to me, and I will draw my own conclusions.
аватар lanos
I don't quarrel with anyone. I believe that a tourist who recommends something to another tourist should show maximum responsibility. If you do not know something for sure, then indicate this degree of ignorance. Unfortunately, I have often come across and still face this irresponsibility when they carry any snowstorm. I will not miss this, who used my advice, I was always thanked. Including here.

In love with Slovakia, which is good in any of the seasons. But is it worth "breaking spears", insisting on the advantage of the resorts. After all, tastes do not argue! And, speaking of the High Tatras (I like both spring and autumn), it is worth remembering that Strbske Pleso is still NOT FOR EVERYONE - both from the point of view of categorization and from the point of view. accommodation. There is little choice. Smokovci and Tatranska Lomnica are quite versatile, especially with the introduction of 3 lift stages. Thank you for the good link taleuk to the website www.lanovky.sk (Lanovky in Slovak for 'lifts'), where full information about lift services and tariffs is collected.
аватар lanos
In my review, the main minus of Strbske Pleso is written - there is, as such, no trail for beginners. But for intermediate and advanced skiers, this is the best place in Slovakia. As for the choice is small - I do not agree, there are enough options for skiing. Just anywhere - 2-3 days and it becomes boring. And you go to other places. Therefore, by the way, it does not matter that the hotel is located near the ski lift, but more importantly, that it is near transport communications.

I support Lanka-Lanochka, I am in love with Slovakia, I go every year and several times with my children since 2005. And she started skiing only in 2010. It was Opalisco (Zavazhna Poruba). As our Slovak friend said, Opalisco has the steepest slope in Slovakia (meaning the angle of inclination). And the second route is very easy, where we studied and enjoyed it a lot. So it seems to me that there is no dispute about tastes. Everyone is free to choose. The main thing is to provide reliable information. For example, I love Slovakia for its thermal springs, but they are also different. And I love Tatralandia (although there are Poprad and Besenova and much more). Therefore, the main thing is the beginning, and then everything will work out ...
