Road to Europe through Slovakia
The Kyiv-Uzhgorod-Liptovsky Mikulash-Bratislava road has become almost native over the past few years. To be honest, all this is because I have a Slovak visa, 5 years old, and I have to repay debts to the Slovaks. Wherever we go by car, if it is Europe, then we try to pass through this really pleasant and interesting country. Needless to say, we have already visited this country 3-4 times on purpose, highly appreciating the price / quality ratio of Slovak sights. Often tourists consider it unworthy of their attention, and try to "slip" as quickly as possible, and then all these Austria and Germany.
I want to show a selection of interesting Slovak places and towns that I have seen briefly or, on the contrary, visited thoroughly over the past 3-4 years. All these interesting things, basically, are not far from the main road to Bratislava. Photos are selected from different trips: winter, spring, and summer. It seems that I have never been here in autumn. And the mountains in autumn, during leaf fall, oh, how good! You can see a lot of castles along the way from the road, but I still haven’t visited many, I know that we will still go this way in the future. I leave it for later, so to speak.
I highly recommend staying in Slovakia for a couple of days, even if you really "target" to another country!
Besides, think about it, maybe not through Hungary to make a mar-throw, but through Slovakia? The food is no less tasty, I would even say that it is more delicious than in Poland or Hungary, but at the same time the prices are slightly lower. Well, or on a par with these countries. If the trip is in winter, then literally 10 km from the highway is a large and modern ski resort Jasna. Right on the highway (Liptovsky Mikulas) there are many sports shops where you can buy something for promotions. Beautiful Beshenova: thermal springs, outdoor pools, slides, cool saunas. Very clean and modern aquacomplex, not expensive by European standards. Right on the way to the g / l resort, there are several really sensible and large caves (including an ice one), where you can go on an excursion (and many caves are much less accessible). Here, a few kilometers from the autobahn!
The disadvantage of this road is that it is not really an autobahn. There are quite a lot of sections where there are few lanes and the speed is limited. If I don’t even look with one eye, then, of course, it’s better to choose a different path.
But if you want to look at ancient cities and fortresses, visit caves, have a delicious meal with a view of the mountains, and maybe even stop by the beautiful Tatras for a day, then you need to go through Slovakia!
