What do we know about Slovakia? Well, apart from the fact that it is constantly confused with Slovenia? : )) It turns out that this country is very attractive for potential tourists: affordable prices for food and housing, nature reserves, ski resorts, small cozy towns, intuitive language and friendly people. And what else do you need for a good rest?

Kos ice. Yellow and blue city. No, they don't greet me so solemnly, they have a city flag in the same color scheme as ours.

The long pedestrian street Hlavná , where the main attractions of the almost 800-year-old city are concentrated.

Dó m svä tej Al? bety is the easternmost Gothic cathedral in Europe, which has survived a dozen major fires, a siege by enemy troops, two earthquakes, two floods and one hurricane.

City Park. Fountains that attract vacationers like a magnet in the May heat. Chuchuryad ice cream (guess what a miracle it is?; ))). Relaxed and cozy city.

Slovenský Raj. Have you been to Paradise? Yes, yes, you can get there in your lifetime! Slovak Paradise is the official name of the national park, which has more than 300 kilometers of various hiking trails. One of the most interesting tracts is Suchá Belá , so I go there.

The first doubts about the correctness of the choice came to me when the forest trail ended in a stream, and the pointers offered to go straight to it. Well, I jumped on the pebbles forward, comforting myself with the thought that I could turn back at any moment.

I cut. I'm jumping. I'm jumping. And the end of the edge of the stream is not visible.

There are no people at all (as it turned out, the main season here is summer). Instead, there is plenty of water and fallen trees.

I sing softly: "Protection, cancellation! " : )) But I understand that I have gone too far to turn back. So I'll jump on. Logs, stones, wooden stairs, iron steps and chains instead of handrails.

Oh, my left foot got wet. Yes, the rights also did not last long. Oops, how everything is slipping here. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either. I jump on.

Waterfalls. God, how much energy in this falling water! Twilight. Water. Stones. And only one thought does not give me peace - why, why, I came here? ! ! : ))

Gradually the tract becomes wider. Water is decreasing. It seems that you can exhale, because the next route is no longer like the quest "stay alive".

Basically, when I was preparing for the trip and reading the reviews of other tourists, a walk in Paradise seemed to me something like a simple promenade. Well, a few stairs to climb the waterfalls. Well, somewhere to climb the mountain, somewhere to go down. Nothing that would seem too heavy.

The reality was a little different. But, perhaps, this is the main purpose of Paradise - to be different for different people ...

Спасибо V. A. S. за помощь в опознании огненной саламандры!

The second day in Paradise. Today I go to Prielom Hornadu , which is considered the largest and most picturesque canyon in the park.

Slippery stones. Dirt. Oh, already familiar chains! It seems that today the hands that pull you up work harder than the feet that slide in the mud : ))

Wooden stairs. Iron mortars built into the rock above the river. Ooooo! The main thing here is not to look down!

Such a wild and atmospheric forest ...

Suspension bridges in Paradise have the ability to swing happily to the beat of your course. I think I already miss yesterday's waterfalls! : ))

Climbed the mountain. Yuhuu! View (it is an observation deck). Wooded hills to the horizon. And the snow-covered Tatras. How wonderful here!

High Tatras.

Most Tatra hiking trails are closed until June 15. That's why I walk where it is allowed.

Popradské Pleso is a lake in the Mengushivets Valley, located at an altitude of 1494 m. Fog. Snow on the roadside. Rain of varying intensity. And harsh mountains, which are breathtaking.

I met a local guide who kindly showed me the beauty around me. Yes, I have never had such unusual guides: ))

Š trbské Pleso is a lake on the southern side of Kryvan Mountain, at an altitude of 1335 m. Foggy and slightly apocalyptic landscapes.

Skalnaté Pleso is a lake in the lowest part of the valley of the same name, at an altitude of 1754 m. Reflection of mountains in a clear water surface. And the fog that, like a child, plays with you, then wrapping itself in its haze, then retreating beyond the mountains.

In general, the mountains are an ideal place to contemplate. You may not move, and the picture in front of you will constantly change. Fog, sun, snow or rain with the speed of the wind change the surrounding species. Just like on TV, only more useful and without commercial breaks: ))

Poprad. It dates back to 1256. However, for more than four hundred years it was a small and provincial village. Its rapid development began only in the 19th century, when the railway was laid here.

All tourist life of Poprad revolves around Namestie Sv.

Egidia, stretching for several hundred meters in the central part. The area is surrounded by row buildings, which are dominated by bourgeois houses of the 18th-19th centuries.

A special attraction of Slovakia is its cuisine. Delicious, hearty, with huge portions and traditional beer for "dessert" (I especially recommend tasting the dark varieties).

The full version of events, as always, can be read on the forum ( tits here ).
