Riga - Tallinn - Aland Islands
Hello. Who was on the Northern Saga tour (Riga - Tallinn - Aland Islands), are there any offers from Riga travel agencies for July 2014? Maybe someone went on their own, then write, please, to my mail - [email protected]

At the beginning of June we traveled on our own Tallinn-Stockholm-Riga (transit with access to the city). Ask questions, we will answer.

I am specifically interested in the route Tallinn - Aland Islands.

We traveled from Tallinn to Stockholm by the Baltic Queen ferry of Tallink Silja Line. Company website www.tallinksilja.com. The ferry departs from terminal D of the port of Tallinn at 18.00. On the odd numbers, the ship Baltic Queen goes, on the even numbers - Victoria I. These ferries make a stop at the port of Maarianhamin on the Åland Islands. According to the schedule, the ferry arrived in the Aland Islands at 04.50 without delay. It's a pity, but at this earlier time I really wanted to sleep, after an active evening on the ferry, and could not appreciate the beauty of Mariehamn.
Please note that ferry ticket prices for a liner flight are almost twice as expensive as those for a cruise.
From the trip on the ferry there were only positive emotions.

I was once on a Riga-Stockholm cruise, and now I found a route from Tallinn to the islands. I saw the ferry schedule - it arrives in the morning, and back in the evening - so I’m thinking how can I spend a day on the islands? Is it a cruise or a line flight to the islands ?

Ooooh .. I myself have been licking my lips at Alands for a long time, but everything"does not grow together" either in terms of money or in time :)
Moving "Tallinncom" to Aland will cost a lot - 176 euros per cabin one way (they do not sell deck places, it takes 10 hours on the way, a special boat does not stick to the harbor). For comparison, a cruise on the same "Tallinn" to Stockholm will cost 80-120 euros/cabin (Tallinn-Stockholm-Tallinn). The cheapest and fastest way to get to Aland is from the Swedish port of Kapellskar, near Stockholm - 10 euros / person.

Good luck!:)

P.S.
There are only linear flights from Tallinn to Aland. There are no cruises.

I don’t know foreign languages to get from Stockholm to the islands. It’s good in Riga and Tallinn, you can explain in Russian what you want.

How are you going to relax in Aland, because this is an internal Finnish resort, they don’t speak Russian there either :) However, you can buy a ticket from Kapellskar to Mariehamn in Russian at the Viking box office in Tallinn or on their website (see link above).

I'm not going to rest there. We just decided to get to the island, stay for a day (maybe spend the night if we can find an inexpensive hotel, hostel) and return back.

You first read all the links that are offered to you, plan the entire route (there is a lot of information on the networks), buy round-trip tickets on the Internet, download maps, choose a place to stay and eat and walk on your health. Do not forget to take a phrase book, a pen, a piece of paper .If there is a dream, then everything will come true.
If you buy ferry tickets 28 days in advance, it will be cheaper.

I myself am from Belarus, but I will be in Riga, and there is only, as far as I know, Tallink. I need to plan my itinerary...
аватар THE_RUSLAN-BY
But how to get to Kapellscher?
аватар LaFifa
The easiest way is on the Viking Line transfer bus, which runs from the ferry terminal ("Viking Line" and "Tallink" come to different ports of Stockholm.) You buy a ticket at the Viking Line ticket office along with a ticket to Aland. (10 euros)

Can I form a route, otherwise I'm confused-
Tallinn-Kapelsher-Aland-such???
аватар LaFifa
Well, roughly speaking, yes. And given that Viking Line ferries have been running from Tallinn to Stockholm since this month, all issues can be resolved at the box office of this ferry company (Tallinn, terminal A), or on their website.
Of course, if you go into details, study "bourgeois" sites with the help of Google translator, read other tourist sites, remember the school curriculum for studying foreign languages, then you can dig up some other information ... But if you don’t bother and follow the path "of least resistance" choosing the Russian language as communication, then buying round-trip tickets (including transfer) at the Viking Line ticket office is the only right decision :)

By the way, not Aland, but Aland. Because this is not one island, but an entire archipelago.

Here's what to do in Kapellscher at 04.50 - I'll never know. I'll obviously go to bed in the morning - I know these entertainment programs)))
аватар LaFifa
Yes, well, them, these Alands :)))
аватар THE_RUSLAN-BY
you need to book a bed somewhere through a travel agency, you can stay for a few days.
аватар LaFifa
4.50 is in Mariehamn (in Aland), and I don’t know what time the ferry leaves from Kapellskar. But given that the Viking ferry arrives in Stockholm at about ten o'clock in the morning, therefore, the transfer will adjust to this time, you should not worry about an early arrival in Kapelshner :)
аватар THE_RUSLAN-BY
so. I'm confused! Do I need to get to Kalsner from Stockholm? Can I write the route and time ??? pliz!
аватар LaFifa
Well, I’m not a travel agency and I haven’t been to the Alands yet, if I look for information, I will take it from open sources, and this is within your power. You have links. Info on the Viking website is written in Russian ... Good luck! :)
