Driving to Romania
Good day. What are the requirements for a car when crossing the border (tinting, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, etc.) Can they turn it around for tinting, or fine it on the territory?

Toning. Factory - no problem. The rest is up to you :-(
They don’t often get attached, but acquaintances once ripped off the film (though, Slovakia). It's better not to risk it, usually you open the windows and drive through. And we didn't go in winter ;-)))
Requirements for a car that is not broken, including no cracks on the windshield, everything is definitely in order with the light, Green Card insurance is required (it costs about 260 UAH / 15 days).
You will not be picking the first-aid kit, but, of course, you need to sweep it, + an emergency stop sign, a fire extinguisher, a cable and everything you need with us.
It is unlikely that you will see it. You will be looking for drugs, weapons, etc.
Foodstuffs (boutiques, meat, cheese) may be asked to be thrown away.
If the car is credit, it is better to take a letter from the bank that he gives the go-ahead for the car to go abroad.
Rarely seen, but in theory it is required.
They advise sticking a UA sticker, but we do not sculpt.
There are no more people than according to the passport.

There are no more people than according to the passport of a car. It’s better to let the fifth and sixth in a passenger car on foot or in another car, a regular bus ...
I heard that they don't let cars full of people. which is, of course, correct.

At our border they demanded some kind of "vest", but when they saw a block of cigarettes in the trunk, they completely switched to it. I had to leave the block. The border guard, handing over the passports, said: "If there was a vest, everything would be fine." But, we thought that we were so "everything is fine." In the neighborhood, the car of one Bulgarian was dismantled literally for spare parts, and they didn’t even check our bags :) We crossed the border in 20 minutes. So, whoever is lucky. At the border checkpoint, one must be extremely careful, do not go beyond the "STOP" line (this is not liked at the Polish border either), drive up to the inspection only at the command of the border guard. We traveled by credit car, no one demanded any letters at the border, and they don’t give them at the bank, they say that they don’t know what form they should be in. On the territory of Romania, the first thing you need to buy is a VIGNETTE (rovignette), this is a tax for driving on local roads. Rovignette can be bought at the Rompetrol gas station, it is attached to the windshield of the car. If you drive without a vignette, you risk being fined. In the Romanian mountains there are a lot of settlements along the road, with a speed limit of 40 km, but the locals drive as they want and walk as they want. Be careful.

They wanted a reflective vest from you and it should be in the cabin so that the driver can always take it and put it on (you can’t carry it in the trunk, for example). A friend once told me that only in this vest you need to go out to the Slovak policemen. Type in Google "reflective vest" and pictures. This is what they demanded.

In fact, it is in your interests to take a letter from the bank. When we had a car on credit, we took it all the time. Indeed, they demand to show at the border very rarely. But! If, God forbid, an accident, then there may be problems. I don’t know the details, but I used to look through forums on this topic - problems after an accident arose from people who didn’t take a certificate from the bank about leaving the car.

hatinka, it was probably a few years ago. Now banks do not issue such letters. Last year we went to the Baltic States and Romania, asked the bank for a letter, they said that they "do not know how to write." Yes, and the meaning of these letters? No one will read them abroad in Ukrainian anyway. Here, both "ours" and "theirs" will definitely be interested in the green card at the border. And the "wa" sticker will be required to be pasted. Yes! And one more thing: I do not advise you to go through Transnistria. On the way back, we stopped by Moldova to look and "cut off" the road ... We passed the Bulgarian-Romanian-Moldovan border normally, and at the exit from Pridnestrovie, the border guards overran the entire trunk in search of weapons :( In general, I did not like Pridnestrovie ...
