What to see around Hersonissos

My husband and I are going to Hersonissos for 10 days. We really want to rent a car and drive around the main attractions for 3-4 days. Therefore, the question for connoisseurs: what can you see in this region? Does anyone have a link to a guidebook? Is it possible (and how much does it cost) to get to Halkidiki by car? Thanks!

Guidebooks are sold there on every corner. Crete itself is small, we traveled all over it from Rethymnon. Near Hersonissos, I can recommend Minos Palace. You can go to Vai beach, it is very beautiful there, but it is already to the east of the island, beyond Agilos Nikolas. Closer from Hersonissos than from Rethymnon. But the roads are mountainous. Good afternoon. On your own, you can visit, in principle, everything. Either rent transport, or take the local public. At any bus station there are a bunch of free booklets and timetables to help you get your bearings. From Heraklion you can go anywhere on the island. People are not going to live in the city. They will live by the sea, outside the city. And from there they can go to Hersonissos and Agios Nikolas, and generally wherever they want. So Hersonissos is of the same value as all other cities. Farther...
