Gentlemen experts, help me choose a country for a holiday in the second half of August!
We have already been to Turkey, we can roughly imagine, we have not been to Tunisia or Albania and we vaguely imagine what their fundamental difference is. In priority: the sea, the proximity of the city or promenade, quality food (two women 45+))

I love Montenegro very much - the country is compact, the food is delicious!! nature is a fairy tale, you can’t review everything at once and I don’t know how from Belarus, but from Kyiv there are often very cool offers. You need to go there exclusively for breakfast, as there is where to eat locally and it is very tasty and relatively not expensive. The promenade is chic - Budva is a central party city with nightclubs right on the waterfront. Therefore, if you want to be quieter, we choose Becici, Rafailovichi, etc. Croatia is also recommended, but it (maybe it seemed to us) is more expensive than Montenegro, but there is also where to roam. Spain - there is generally where to hang out !! Italy - to combine an excursion with a beach holiday, about the beauty of this country and food - it's better to see and try once !! Tunisia ... well, not that, well, this is apparently my biased attitude towards this country.

In Tunisia, if you are planning walks and a promenade, then you need resort towns with tourist infrastructure Hammamet, Sousse, Nabeul, Monastery, near the capital of Tunisia Gammarth, Sidi Bou Said and the island of Djerba.
Most of all for walking, the proximity of the city I like the Yasmine area in Hammamet (photo is a small part of the Yasmine promenade) and Sousse
Holidays in Tunisia are reminiscent of holidays in Turkey and Egypt. For money if souvenirs, cafes, taxis

Everything is cheap for the money.
Here is another photo of the Yasmine embankment

Tunisia is beautiful, but that's Africa. I'm afraid it will be VERY hot

Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy are beautiful countries. Tunisia in August is also normal, there is no particular heat, unlike the United Arab Emirates or Egypt at the same time.

Bodrum and Kusadasi are good in August (if you haven't been)
аватар Vika284
I will support selik1954 and add if there were only Antalya resorts in Turkey (Antalya, Kemer, Belek, Side, Alanya), then I also recommend especially in August to relax and enjoy walks and the opportunity to visit the Greek islands
on the Aegean coast of Turkey - Cesme, Ozdere, Kusadasi, Didim, Bodrum
and Aegean-Mediterranean - Marmaris, Gocek, Fethiye, Oludeniz, Sarigerme
It's a completely different nature and climate
аватар ledi.lana
Thanks to everyone who responded!
They were not on the Aegean and Aegean-Mediterranean coasts. And, in general, they also considered it (having read that it is not as hot there in August as in Alanya, for example)), but the sea is colder there (Aegean), well, not "fresh milk")), and I - freezing, I need warm water)
Tunisia was embarrassed by the presence of stinging jellyfish in August (again, I read a lot of tyrneta)).
Went to think...
аватар Vika284
In Oludeniz sea water temperature in August +28-29
In Bodrum bays +27
In Sarigerme +27-28
Kusadasi +25
аватар Vika284
Oludeniz is just right and the water temperature is good, the climate is comfortable, the nature is gorgeous
In Bodrum, Torba and Guvercinlik bays are closed and the sea warms up there and the nature is beautiful
Similarly, where Gocek there is also a closed bay and part of the districts of Fethiye

It's hot in Tunisia in August ... the sea doesn't cool at all, you climb like in warm tea. To go only in late-late August, and even that is questionable ... Why look in Africa and risk rest, if this is already a classic: in summer the best seas are in Europe.
ledy.lana, according to your wishes:
Larnaca (Cyprus): an excellent promenade along the sea, and from the sights - the Church of St. Lazarus, where Lazarus was resurrected, a fortress, but in Larnaca there is no particular "city" (the promenade and the city in Paphos, but it is more expensive there), the beach in Larnaca is sandy, but specific, hardish in a free place, there is no fluffy sand, I don’t remember how I didn’t use it in the area with paid sunbeds;
Sunny Beach (Bulgaria): an excellent promenade, the city itself is like a resort town (it is empty in the off-season, no one lives there), but there are a lot of excursions from there, an excellent sandy beach;
Budva (Montenegro): no promenade as such, great old town, but pebbly beach.
аватар in.ki
I will continue.
Dubrovnik (Croatia): a wonderful city to explore, but expensive, although if you have money, why not, but personally I don’t consider Croatia as a seaside vacation for myself - go there only for the sake of Dubrovnik and Plitvice Lakes, but to get healthier at sea, so for this there are options no worse, why overpay. I don’t remember if the beaches there are pebbly or sandy (it wasn’t), it seems, pebbles ...
In general, it is believed that in summer the seas are the best in Greece, but in Athens you need to go to the sea somewhere by tram, and in Cyprus if the sea is good, then you need to go somewhere there, say, from the same Stalis for a "walk- hang out in the evening."
Yes, about jellyfish in Tunisia - there are them. And there are algae in the afternoon too.
аватар Vika284
in.ki that in all the resorts of Tunisia, jellyfish from all over the Mediterranean arrange a rally? And what do algae do in the morning?
аватар in.ki
* and in Cyprus, if the sea is good, then you need to go somewhere there, say, from the same Stalida to "walk, have a drink in the evening."

Crete, sorry.

Vika284, I will ask you to change the teacher's tone to a more respectful one, without "subtle" irony. It is preferable to express your opinion as follows: "No, in.ki, you are mistaken, not all resorts have jellyfish" (if you are sure that not all - and then the arguments-experience to the studio), "No, in.ki, there were no algae in the first half of the day specifically at such and such a resort" (if you did not notice them). Sorry, but you set the tone. Let's not do that again, this is an information forum.
A message was given about jellyfish, they ARE in Tunisia, let the author of the question further elaborate on the resorts. About algae - a person should feel free on vacation and know that he can go to the sea all day long, and not get tired on excursions in the morning, return to the hotel with the idea of swimming - but it wasn’t there
аватар Vika284
in.ki in Tunisia was several times, in different regions and never had problems with jellyfish and algae. There were no problems, because there were no jellyfish and algae in Hammamet, Sousse, Monastery, Mahdia, Sidi bou Said, Gammarth, Nabeul.
Algae if they grow at the bottom, then they are before lunch and after lunch and at night.
Anyone can express their opinion here.

in.ki, as it is in Budva there is no promenade .... there it starts with the old town and along the coast right up to Becici. There are shops, nightclubs, a lot of cafes ... there is where to walk, eat, sit, drink coffee, shop, and all this along the sea coast for a kilometer for sure.
аватар ledi.lana
in.ki, thanks for the recommendation, but we only consider the resorts that I have listed.
Perhaps a holiday in Europe at this time of the year is more comfortable, but also more expensive)
We have already been in Bulgaria 10 times, so we are not considering it yet, although we like the rest there, especially Nessebar!)
So let's look at Turkey. At least there the price / quality does not disappoint))

Think more about Georgia. The city of Batumi by the sea, a very interesting place) And the weather in August is wonderful there.
аватар ni1920960
I recommend Alicante. The water in the sea will already be warmed up and the evenings will not be cool. There are all kinds of entertainment, but available to the holder of Schengen visas.
аватар ledi.lana
ni1920960, thanks, but for the sake of one trip to the sea, we do not plan to issue visas.
Daria-travel, we thought about this direction, but by plane - it's sooo expensive, and by bus - it's a pity so many days on the road.
Please, let's discuss the areas that interest me.
аватар selik1954
Consider all the same Marmaris (Icmeler). Water in the second half of June will be 22-23 degrees, BUT - there is a closed bay and there are practically no sea disturbances. The promenade is very long, comfortable and beautiful. Nature is a real resort paradise. I don’t understand the budget, but the best hotels are Aqua 5 *, Sentido Sea Star (adults) 4 *, Sentido Orka Lotus Beach 5 *. Modest: Quadas (adults) 4*, L'Etoile 4*, Mar-Bas 3*. Look at the reviews and photos on different resources and go!
аватар ledi.lana
selik 1954, thanks for the recommendation, I looked at the option that you indicated as - more modest,
Mar-Bas 3* Minsk 15.08.2019 11 Standard Room Sea View AI DBL 4 108 BYN (€1711)
Unfortunately, I won't take this option. Hotels of this price category can be considered for early booking, but the circumstances are such that I can only count on the "burning", unfortunately..
