The customs and the cordon service are essentially different organizations, but at passport control it doesn’t matter what surname you are, the main thing is that the passport is valid, and it didn’t work out where you issued it, didn’t submit it to the cordon service that it is not valid if you have several of them (passports) .

Your spouse enters the country with a passport. It does not include marital status. If the passport is not expired, then there should be no problems. The main thing is that the data in the voucher (if you took a bag) match the data in the passport.

Is he with his wife's maiden name?

The issue here is not entry, but exit.
As mentioned above, the passport issuing authority, if you received a new internal passport with a new surname, was obliged (although I’m not sure how carefully they treat this) to submit data that your passports are invalid after 3 months - this period is given for obtaining new documents.
You'd better check in OVIR or Document Center. In the Document, for example, come to the issuance window, explain the problem and ask them to check against the database. They are not obliged at all, but if you ask correctly, politely, they will check.

There was a similar discussion here. http://www.turpravda.com/question-59327.html
So far, no one has cited real cases of non-release abroad on a passport with a maiden name.

There is a traffic light in front of my house. So far, there have been no real cases of being hit by a car when going through a red light. Does this mean that you can ignore the traffic rules and calmly switch the light to a red light?

kolyan_cat, sometimes a question is just a question, and you can simply answer it, and not wind up your philosophical thoughts.
The question was "are there any cases ...", the answer is "not yet".

"The question was "are there any cases ...", the answer is "not yet."
The thing is, there is no answer to this question. A sample of two dozen visitors to Tuprpavda is not representative of several million trips a year. And if there is a free and easy opportunity to check in the body that is authorized to do this, guessing on the coffee grounds all the more loses its relevance.

You keep answering your own question.
I don’t know the author’s situation: why don’t they change their passport, has it been three months since the date of the change of surname, have they already bought a tour, do they understand all the risks ... They will check the passport at the OVIR - fine, but at the moment there is interaction between the OVIR and the border service none, and people drive for years under the old name. There is always a risk, but there are no real cases of U-turns at the border yet.

In Ukraine, there is a 100% database of invalid passports, including foreign ones, which interacts with the Derzhprikordonservice!!! But what did the inspector introduce him to?

Invalid passports plz.....

Of course, from Barnaul it is clearer what kind of interaction between the OVIR and the border service in Ukraine is today.
I will not argue.

kolyan_cat, so come to Barnaul, I'll show you the city)))). And it’s already, really, embarrassing, it’s not the first time you lament that it’s more visible from Barnaul than from Ukraine.
And that the common base of border guards and passport officers is lame, because according to the law of meanness, everything can start working at the most unexpected moment. And then the groans of the newlyweds and newly divorced wrapped up on the border will go through the forums and social networks.

I am in the same situation as the author.
The Passport Service assured me with an oath that the information about the change of surname is transmitted to the Border Service almost immediately.
At the same time, the VMI has a service for checking the validity of international passports, and judging by this service, nothing became invalid there after the change of surname.
Has anyone checked how it works in practice?
