Hi there! I was in Portugal in July 2016 and I want to share information. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that although Portugal is a warm country, it is quite cool in the evening by the ocean, so it is worth taking a jacket.
In Lisbon, housing in the Alfama area (center) cost 285 euros (three nights for 4 people). The cost of food averaged 30 euros per day In Lisbon, I recommend visiting: 1) the National Pantheon, where the relics of Vasco da Gama and a magnificent observation deck to the city - 4 euros / person;

After Lisbon, we moved to Sintra, where we visited the castle of the Moors-8 euros / person. Our itinerary was like this. In January we bought cheap tickets via AVIO from Warsaw to Lisbon, TAP Portugal airline. (make sure that luggage is included or you can buy it later). Two families drove to Warsaw from Ukraine on a budget (gas) by car and put it in the parking lot. We walked around Lisbon. On the Internet, back in Ukraine, we bought EVA bus tickets (round trip) from Lisbon to Lagos (PayPal will help you). Why to Lagos, because there is a warm ocean and beautiful places. The beaches are sandy, even aquashoes were not needed. We rented apartments through Booking, there are a lot of supermarkets. Food can be found for any budget. A lot of impressions. I recommend to visit there. You should definitely go in the southwestern direction from Sagesh to Odysseish and see another, restless ocean, there are surfers and the water is colder, but beautiful!

I am very grateful to the people who left their descriptions and tips for traveling to Lisbon, so I want to continue this relay and leave my advice to future travelers.
1) Weather. I was in Lisbon for 7 days in January 2019. Weather - 16-20 degrees, periodically windy. The rains were, but small - only a few times briefly frostbitten and the sun appeared, although the forecasts indicated - rains all day. The hotel is damp, things are drying badly.
2) Plan where you want to go and how. And not one option, but several - because additional information may come - where more interesting, and where the repair and so on.
3) Language. Employees at railway stations and stations, in large stores, bus drivers are fluent in English. People are very friendly - even those who do not know English, try to help.
I wrote down a whole phrasebook for myself, but really only used numerals (when they explain how much it costs or the bus number) and the following expressions:

5) Lisbon - food. Lots of expensive tourist restaurants. There are many restaurants for locals, in particular - Asian, Arabic cuisine. Many confectioneries - pate. There is a cool place Time Market opposite Cais de Sodre - a food court with restaurants, beautiful and relatively cheap. Works from 12 o'clock. In addition, in Lisbon there are small grocery stores and small supermarkets everywhere.

10) Map. I recommend using an offline map for walking around the city, on which you put labels in advance (for example, you take an article about Lisbon, you liked the place - you kill its name on this map and put a label), and then build a route to the label. 17) Cascais (Cascais) - a resort town closest to Lisbon Ocean. Getting from Cais de Sodre by train takes 20 minutes, and the road along the river and ocean takes half an hour. Then everything becomes not so prosperous - steps among the rocks, but it is not difficult to climb. Although the view of the Moorish castle is vertical above Sintra. The trail leads to the square with the info center, from which the path leads to the Moorish fortress - just to the left, and the highway to the left to the castle of Penny (15 minutes).
