Obidos - an old portuguese village
Obidos is a small and very stylish village about 100 kilometers from Lisbon, it is easy to get there from Lisbon by bus from the Campo Grande bus station, the ticket costs 8 euros.
The village is surrounded by fortified walls, which offer a beautiful view of both the village itself and the surrounding landscape.
You can enter the village through the fortress gates, which are located next to the bus stop. What you can see there - first of all, old white-blue or white-yellow village houses. On the two central streets, the houses are well-groomed, away from the main streets they can be more shabby, but still decorated with fresh flowers. And beautiful photos can be taken on any street.
On the main streets, in almost every house there is a souvenir shop where you can buy souvenirs, as well as try (well, buy with you) the Portuguese cherry liqueur jinho. The tasting portion is poured into a small chocolate bowl, and in some stores they can also put a cherry there.
There are many street restaurants, if the weather is good, you can have a bite to eat there.
There are also a couple of churches in Obidos, churches like churches. It is interesting to look at the church of St. James, which has been converted into a bookstore. It turns out that churches were converted into something else not only in the Soviet Union.
On the outskirts of Obidos, you can climb the stairs to the fortress wall, and even walk along it. True, the passage along the wall is very narrow and not fenced, it is scary to walk along it.
