Since the price this year is low compared to previous years, as well as a direct flight from Kyiv, we chose this island. We stayed at the Pestana Casino Park Hotel (the only casino in Madeira right here). I can say about the hotel that this is far from 5, but for such a price it is quite acceptable. Initially, it was written that you can swim in the ocean through a nearby hotel, but nowhere was it said that this distance was about 1 km. A bottle of water for dinner 4 euros, in shops up to 1 euro. We found a Russian-speaking guide, with whom we spent three days riding around the island and contemplating the most beautiful views, visiting various sights and swimming in the ocean. We tried a local dish that is served in almost all restaurants - swordfish with a fried banana, as well as meat on a stone (highly recommended), it is fried in front of you, but we ate it in a restaurant on the mountain, where the guide brought us.
The magnificent Monte Park, which we reached by taxi, although you can go up by cable car, made an unforgettable impression, we went down the hill with the help of the world-famous Georges, who took us on a wooden sled. The next day, we decided to combine a walk on a small boat in the ocean and fishing, and also admire the dolphins. We did it, we caught a whole bucket of fish, they fried it there, besides swimming in the ocean at 800 m depth is still that adrenaline and the dolphins gave us a whole show. We only had breakfast at the hotel, sometimes we had dinner and spent the night. Drinks: local green wine, as well as fortified Madeira is sold everywhere, in restaurants the price is from 12 euros, in a supermarket 4-5 euros, if you search you can find the same wine for 3. The weather is gorgeous, not hot, not cold, after a couple of kilometers it changes significantly and it's very cool. I really liked the laurel forests and the edges of the roads, all in huge hydrangeas of various colors.
