Nepal is a very beautiful, friendly country

You will like Nepal if you like outdoor activities, new experiences, unknown countries, places not trampled by tourists.
What is a must see in Nepal?
The three royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley: Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur;
Pashupatinath temple complex. It is located on the banks of the sacred river Bagmati, where the rites of ritual washing, sacrifice and cremation are performed. There are also caves of yogis and sacred lingams;
Living Goddess Kumari in Kathmandu;
Royal Chitwan National Park. The most famous and visited by tourists. Elephant jungle safari or canoeing down the river. What to watch? Rhinos graze in the meadows, river crocodiles doze on the shore, more than 500 species of birds and butterflies, elephants play funny games on an elephant farm;
Lumbini, Buddha's birthplace, Buddhist temples in southern Nepal;
Pokhara. This resort town is located on the shores of Lake Phewa, popular among tourists, because, firstly, you can do nothing, but just admire the picturesque views of the Himalayas. Secondly, Pokhara is a starting point for lovers of trekking (hiking in the mountains). Trekking is included in almost all tours. The routes are different, starting with a walking option for one or two days and ending with a trip to the Everest base camp for two weeks.
And, of course, see Mount Everest (8848m), the highest peak in the world.
A trip to Nepal is definitely worth it, and no less than two weeks. The first time we were 17 days in the spring, the program included 3 days in the Kathmandu valley, a day in Pokhara, 4 days trekking (Annapurna massif), 3 days rafting, 2 days in Lumbini, 2 in Chitwan and 2 more in Kathmandu. In order not to waste time on transfers, we flew from Kathmandu to Pokhara and from Chitwan to Kathmandu (30-40min) on Nepalese airlines. And one more flight on the last day - near Everest on a pleasure 14-seater plane. We left the trip to Tibet for the next time.
Hello! Did you travel on a tour or on your own? And another question: how much did the trip cost? Thanks a lot!
I have been driving since 2004. both herself and through a travel agency. When using a travel agency, I don’t waste time on the spot until the Nepalese can issue permits / permits. Therefore, we usually agree on the route that we want from Kyiv. We send scans in advance, book domestic flights. Because a rake like a promise to Tibet, the loss of 7 days and non-departure has already begun. This season I plan to break loose in November-December, I'm waiting for local approval.
Thank you very much for your reply! What is the approximate amount to aim for?
from $850 for a week tour in the country without trekking and rafting. Such - excursion and fact-finding, or something. Then there will be a 3 * hotel, excursions to Kathmandu and about 2-3 days, a trip to Pokhara and Chitwan (national park) is a must. But I didn't go that way and don't recommend it. If you already fly to Asia, then you need 2 weeks. It would be nice to include a hike in the mountains - at least for 3-4 days and a trip to Lumbini - the birthplace of Buddha. This is with the road for another 3 days. 1080-1250 will work somewhere. The price always depends on the number of people in the group. At the same time, everyone who wants to go together, agree before the trip. As far as I can remember, no one has teamed up with anyone on the spot. If you go to the mountains for 10-12 days, then the price will increase by only $ 100, because. everything is cheap in the mountains.
Equipment can be bought for a third of the price in the country - in Kathmandu, and preferably in Pokhara. There are many commissions. You can also hand over yours after the trip, if you no longer need it. We are talking about sleeping bags, raincoats from lies, trekking poles ...
Thanks a lot! I will get ready! ))
