At the end of April, the whole country turns into a festival of flowers. It's fabulously beautiful! It is simply impossible to see all the beauty of Holland in spring, as the holiday, flower shows and various processions take place throughout the country, in all cities. After the Keukenhof Flower Park, I saw the Flower Parade. The theme of the Parade in 2017 was "Dutch Design", a Dutch design.
The Flower Parade is a celebration of magnificent colors and intoxicating aromas. 20 huge platforms and 30 wagons richly decorated with flowers.
The 40 km journey starts at 9.30 am from the spa town of Noordwijk. Cars with magnificent bouquets line up on the seafront, waiting for the start of the parade, near which the shutters of cameras are constantly clicking. Early flowers are used in colorful compositions: hyacinths, daffodils, lilies, gerberas, tulips. On this day, all transport in the city is decorated with flowers. The professional associations of the district: firefighters, bankers, farmers, signalmen and national communities present 20 decorated platforms to the audience.

In autumn, after the announcement of the theme of the future parade, designers develop sketches of the sculptural composition, and florists select the floral range. After that, a special frame is built, methods of attaching flowers are selected. A few days before the parade, flower arrangements begin. Anyone can take part in this process by making a donation. The most popular styling flower is the hyacinth. To get a pattern of one shade, flowers are collected from one field. They fill the frame during the day, otherwise the color scheme will differ.
The compositions have been created. Dancers, orchestras and sportsmen present their art in colorful costumes in front of each flower platform. The whole city is immersed in flowers. Numerous spectators are lost next to the huge bouquets. The procession circles the city, setting off on its further journey.
The parade ends at 21:00 in Haarlem. In the center of the city, the column stops, and festive festivities begin.
