The Grand Bahia Hotel occupies a large area among the jungle, as part of a complex of 4 hotels (I will not describe, go to their website, everything is in detail! ). We were in Kobe, it is far from the sea, but this is only a plus in our opinion. Cars run around the territory all the time and there were no problems with movement. Moreover, excellent drivers who could drop you to the right place along the way of another route (if not many people wanted to go on the main one)!
Beauty is everywhere, nature, animals running around the hotel, birds, weather, the Caribbean Sea - everything breathes happiness and joy! Beautiful architecture and authentic finishes, just total immersion! The staff is smart, polite (mostly Mayans), very joyful and friendly and in fact it is sincere! This is a very important point!
Coba beach is chic (you can use the infrastructure of Tulum beach), upon arrival they give a hotel card and tell everyone. There is a bar, toilet and shower on Coba beach. The sea is gorgeous, cool in the morning, clear, gentle. There are always enough sun loungers, we went by 9 am and calmly chose a place for ourselves.
Thanks to the beautiful resort of Baia Coba for these wonderful days, we will definitely meet again!!! ! Mexico is a miracle, and I really want to know more about it!

Lots of shade, which is very valuable. We liked almost everything. Rooms are spacious, clean and well refurbished. They cleaned up well. The only thing is, if you want your towels changed, you have to throw them on the floor. We did not know about this and for 3 days we did not change towels))). Only one thing upset us in the room - although the hotel is declared as a 5, we were not given bathrobes and slippers. Other guests (from Canada) were given all this, although their rooms were the same as ours, bracelets too. Plus, the bar was not replenished every day and not with the amount of drinks that was stated. We concluded that Russians are treated somewhat differently than the rest. Other guys from our race confirmed that they had the same nonsense.
The kitchen would be great. In the central restaurant - a buffet, the food was very tasty, the choice of dishes is large, the Mexicans make meat simply delicious (I'm not talking about hamburgers))). There are always plenty of fruits. The only thing was that there were no juices as such, there were some drinks based on juices (diluted with water). I especially liked the milkshakes. Tulum's lobby restaurant often served shrimp and mussels for dinner.
You can eat at any restaurant you meet)). If you want something to take out with you, say "plastic", they will give you a glass or a plastic plate.
The beach is bulk, the entrance to the water is good only at the beach of Koba. And there are so many stones (old corals), walking on them is very painful. There are breakwaters in the water close to the shore, so the deepest place for swimming was about waist-deep))). It is pointless to go beyond the breakwaters, because. there are stones and waves, you can break your legs.
There are no snack bars on the beach itself, i. e. you won’t be able to eat on the beach, you have to go to a restaurant. Well, these are trifles.
The staff is attentive, but not as smiling as in the Dominican Republic. Sometimes it happened, you say hello to someone, and the person passes and does not seem to hear you.
The area is very clean, cleaned constantly. There are many animals running around the area.
In general, the hotel is good, well located for visiting excursions. To Chichen Itza - 2 hours drive, to Tulum - 15 minutes, to the park Explor and Xcaret - 20 minutes. In fact, all these places can be visited by yourself (by minibus). To go to Playa de Carmen, you need to leave the hotel on the road and take a minibus on the same side (white and blue, with the inscription Playa de Carmen - Tulum). Knowledge of the language is optional, you can write and show the name on a piece of paper))). To leave for Tulum, you need to go to the opposite side of the road. A ticket per person to Tulum costs 30 pesos (2.5 dollars). Dollars are accepted everywhere, even in supermarkets. If you want to stock up on alcohol on the way back, I advise you to go to Tulum or Playa to the Cedraui supermarket, the prices there are 50% lower than in duty free. For example, tequila "1900.0. 7 liters there costs 230 pesos (20 dollars), in duty free - 29 dollars.
We were satisfied with the trip, despite minor annoyances.

Thanks to everyone who cares for the help. Therefore, I myself want to contribute to the good deed of helping those who choose. The hotel is really good. Huge green area, swimming pools, animation - everything is on the level. Three hotels of the same network Tulum, Koba and Akumal communicate with each other with the help of steam locomotives. We could eat in any of them. I don't know why they are great for the price. Tulum is cheaper than Koba, but it stands directly on the shore and has a dolphinarium, unlike the latter.
From the not-so-positive:
1) the sea is very shallow. Love to swim, you are not here, but in Cancun.
2) In restaurants, waiters are very fond of tips. We were greeted very nicely. But then we began to notice a clear cooling of "love" for us - we might not even come up to offer drinks. Then they noticed that they were "buzzing with bees" at the tables where they left a dollar. They can be understood!
The weather was good, it rained for a couple of days.
Of the excursions, in my opinion, the most worthwhile is to Xcaret Park. I liked it very much. Were still in the park Epplore (one could have missed) and swam with turtles in the sea. The cost of parks is $150-160 per person.
Then we went on a sightseeing tour to Merida, Chichen Itza, Polonka, Cancun, etc. This, of course, is simply amazing. I advise everyone. Flying so much just to relax on the sea is unjustified.
Our guide said that sometimes Russians manage to get last-minute trips "almost for nothing. " Otherwise, Mexico is not a cheap pleasure.
Have a good rest everyone!

Recently returned with my husband from a wonderful country with awesome nature, history and beaches. As well as culinary delights. But I'll start in order. We flew from Kyiv to Frankfurt by "Lufthanza" airline for 2 hours and 50 minutes, and by "Air Condor" airline directly from Frankfurt to Cancun. The Germans are great pilots. very confident and took off and landed. the only thing would be a little wider chairs. And so everything was fine - blankets, and pillows, and tea and coffee all the time in addition to food. There was also an afternoon snack - chocolate and tea. Flew from Frankfurt 11 hours 40 minutes Back 10 hours 15 minutes and 2 hours 15 minutes Host "Prime Travel" is beyond praise. They met us at the Cancun airport, took us to the hotel (an hour and a half drive to the Riviera Maya), and told a lot of interesting things along the way. The guides are attentive, competent, they told a lot of interesting things on the excursions, they always helped to solve all the issues, but since I speak English well, I did a great job at the hotel myself.
The hotel is beautiful! Built in the form of three-storey villas. Walking there is almost impossible. We traveled in electric cars. And they were taken to the lobby, and to the beach, and to the disco. The territory is huge, green, full of wonderful plants. Nosuhi (canti) and guti (tailless rats) ran freely everywhere. They do not look as nasty as our domestic rats. Their faces looked like guinea pigs. They loved to gnaw coconuts and brazenly climbed palm trees. Iguanas are adorable. Basking in the sun. We saw whole iguana rookeries. The vegetation is magnificent. jungle, coconut palms, bougainvilleas. . . The list is endless. Our room was amazing. We lived in a three-story villa on the ground floor overlooking the front garden. The room has all the amenities, a huge plasma TV (there are no Russian channels, though), but we practically did not turn it on. And most importantly for me - tea and water. Every day they brought two bottles of drinking water and bags of tea and coffee. The safe is paid, they gave a lock at the reception. It cost five dollars a day.
There are 6 restaurants on site. You could easily enroll in any of them. In addition to the main restaurant "Kukulkana", where we had breakfast, lunch and dinner, we also visited the fish restaurant "El Pescador" and the restaurant "Arlequin" on the territory of the neighboring hotel "Gran Bahia Akumal". Our hotel shares with him and with the hotel "Gran Bahia Tulum" territory. Even in our hotel "Coba" there was an opportunity to go to "Portofino" (Italian, during our stay it was closed all the time). Apparently, not everyone wanted to work during the off-season. As well as "Le Gourme" (French and international cuisine) "Mikado" (Japanese). But Japanese cuisine is not about us. and the main restaurant had everything your heart desires. and cakes with various fillings, and sauces, and fish (grouper, sword) and meat with vegetables and steaks. sweets, fruits, wines (by the way, Mexican wines are very good. ) I leaned on dry white. Foreign drinks had to be paid for, while local wines, beer and tequila were free. The same applies to soft drinks. For breakfast, before entering the restaurant, the administrator treated the girl to brut champagne or mimosa (champagne with orange juice). delicious. You could also order Bloody Mary, if you like. That is, no one left hungry, and the all-inclusive system in wonderful Mexico is very reasonable. There was also a Chinese, and Italian, and a vegetarian, and a Japanese corner. Everything for every taste. Calamari, shrimp, five or six kinds of pizza. There were delicious pastries for breakfast (donuts, pancakes, buns), amazing creams and cakes, non-alcoholic cocktails for breakfast, you could also drink as much as you wanted (banana necks, and strawberries, and pineapple, and apple). omelets, sausages, bacon. ham and cheese. as well as vegetables - these are the attributes of any breakfast, and scrambled eggs, omelettes or boiled eggs in different variations were cooked right in front of us to order. Ice cream and yoghurts were primarily taken apart by children. Sausages were fried near the pool every day from 12 to 13 o'clock, steaks (beef, veal, pork, chicken). drink tea at any time until 11 pm Also there were cookies and pastries and fruit all the time. In the evening the bartenders prepared very tasty coffee (I ordered once with brandy, the next day with tequila, and my husband took himself with whiskey). It's a whole art of cooking, alcohol was added there, then set on fire and after a while whipped cream was added. Nectar!
Every evening there were shows in the hall. And latin. and copied different world stars, and Avatar. Shows started at 10 pm and lasted until 11 pm. And from 8 pm to 10 pm, a music bar was open. The ensemble sang live there and you could also come to dance.
Breakwaters on the beach. They break the waves. Some beaches are open, they constantly had red flags. These are beaches without lagoons and breakwaters. Everything is also close to the hotel. Hotels "Akumal" "Coba" share the beach. only the first one is closer to the sea, and we drove an electric car from our handsome man, as I already wrote. the underwater world is gorgeous - and mackerel brazenly swam underfoot, and clown fish. and some other little blue fish (I don’t know the names).
The tours are amazing. We immediately bought four from our tour operator. We visited the Xcaret park, the beautiful Chichen Itza, as well as Tulum-Tank-Coba and Cancun. In "Shkaret" and underground rivers, and animals practically live in the wild, and various performances. Pyramid "Kukulkan" in Chichen Itza - a beauty! Above all praise. there is a souvenir market. all very good quality, you can bargain. We bought a lot of gifts and souvenirs there. And the cenote lakes have never been seen anywhere else. Karst formations with water +24 degrees. One is like a small lake, and the other is a well with a depth of 6 meters. Tulum - Mayan port city - just a handsome man on the Caribbean coast. There is a beach and the sea is really open there with a very strong wave. tanka is a Mayan village, where we had both, and Koba is an ancient city in the jungle with a 42-meter pyramid. She climbed out and was simply stunned by the panorama. Down below there is only jungle and little people. nice! so for those who are not afraid of heights. recommend. There is also a field for playing ball (a cross between football and soccer). Previously, the captain of the winning team was sacrificed. no matter how wild it may sound. But the Mexicans were very philosophical about death. Now, of course, people are not sacrificed, but they continue to think that after death comes reincarnation. in Cancun, we visited the observation deck near Mirador Beach, saw all the hotels and visited the tequila museum with tasting, and the shopping center. There you can buy souvenirs, and cocoa, and coffee. and also all kinds of sauces, chocolate and vanilla (they consider it the best). Tequila lovers, take note. "Sauza" and "Olmeca" that we have in Mexico are considered the most base. And the second way, in general, Mexicans wash the windows in the car. We tasted Anejo, Extra Anejo, Reposado, Herradura and El Himador. The last one was brought home. Went to hell. We prefer the classic silver tequila, although their golden tequila is very nice. Other good varieties are Jose Cuervo, Don Julio and Agavita.
The review is very detailed, but there are a lot of impressions and they overwhelm. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer. I'll post a photo later.

The tour was bought from the travel operator HAPPY COLUMBUS, which is located on Okipnaya, 4b. I must say right away that we were not going to fly to Mexico at all, we could not even dream of getting there. One fine morning I opened my mail and saw a newsletter from a travel agency. I almost never read them, but here the vacation is coming soon and the long-awaited Turkey is just around the corner. To be honest, I was very surprised to see the price of Mexico-2985 USD. It's for two with a flight. This year, there are also hotels in Turkey that we have been visiting for more than a year. Naturally, I thought that there were some pitfalls and I would have to pay extra for this . . and for that ...I called back, no, everything is as written. In short, we decided to change our plans, as we are well aware that now is not the high season in Mexico and only now we can afford to visit this country.
Transaero-13 hours flew from Moscow, they were fed twice, so if you eat more often, it’s better to take food with you on the plane. Buying on an airplane is a problem. We met at the airport, got to the hotel without any problems, drove for about an hour. Surprisingly, the most favorable exchange rate is at airports. You can also exchange currency in large hotels, exchange offices and banks. Credit cards and traveler's checks are accepted in most shops and restaurants. Also, in some stores you can pay in dollars, but you will receive change in pesos. The reception has Russian-speaking staff. The hotel is something - a huge, very beautiful area, a magnificent beach with white sand. It consists of a complex of 3-storey villas 100 meters from the beach and 3-storey villas near the beach, called the Akumal zone with sea views - we lived there. This is something extraordinary, we could not even dream of such impressions.
Wifi - free in the lobby, paid in the room, I can’t say how much it costs, we didn’t need it. In this paradise, they decided to leave all issues related to that other world for later. The food is just beyond praise, everything is delicious. Grilled seafood - we have not eaten this yet, although my husband orders all kinds of delicacies everywhere in all countries - here is beyond praise. The local cuisine is simply amazing with its delights - “tacos” - corn cake stuffed baked on coals, “salted” - fried meat, rolled in cornmeal, flat cakes with various fillings of meat, vegetables and spices. Delicious boiled pork with vegetables or roasted on a spit, lamb in Mexican style, beef with beans or beans, a variety of poultry dishes, spiny lobster with avocado. It is impossible to compare with any other countries we have visited.
Fed EVERYWHERE, tequila EVERYWHERE - on the territory of 6 restaurants, 9 bars, 2 pools in the form of a lake, for children there is a separate shallow entry, a huge open-air jacuzzi. Served during the day at the pool and on the beach In the evening there are performances, live music is played in the bar. The locals are friendly towards tourists. The local way of life is calm and measured. We were very lucky with the weather, for all the time it rained several times, but they end so quickly that it did not interfere at all. We went on excursions with a Russian-speaking guide. In general, there were about ten Russians in the hotel. We all got to know each other and almost always traveled together.
There were no Ukrainians at all - Muscovites were even surprised - how we could afford such a vacation (this is their opinion about us - a poor country with impoverished inhabitants) I really liked Mexico City - no other city in the world can be compared with Mexico City in terms of the number of unique architectural objects, there are about one and a half thousand ancient buildings, the most interesting of which are: the Aztec pyramid, the National Palace, the Municipal Palace, the Jesus Nazareno hospital.
The days flew by very quickly, it seemed to us that we ended up in another world somewhere far from civilization, all sorts of problems and some everyday troubles. I really did not want to go back - well, at least another week. For some reason ten hours flew back. So to everyone who dreams or how we accidentally got to Mexico, I want to wish you a good rest. And don't be afraid of the off-season. You can travel to Mexico all year round.
The only restriction is that if you want to visit Yucatan or the Gulf Coast, you need to go there in winter to avoid tropical hurricanes. And for Cancun (as I called it, it's around the corner from the Yucatan - you can see it on the map) the weather is wonderful all year round. Of course, it may be better to rest there in the winter, but the prices will be twice as expensive and there will be twice as many vacationers. Mexico has become my second favorite destination in the world, after French Polynesia.
