Complex of 5 hotels. And the area is just huge. Cars roam the area to take you where you need to go. Although there are many signs on the territory, it is better at first to take a map of the hotel with you to navigate. There are many animals on the territory. Raccoons, squirrels, iguanas, agoutis, guinea pigs, lizards, anteaters. Exotic fish and turtles swim in artificial pools. There is a flamingo lake and an aviary with crocodiles. The beach is long but shallow. Good sea, white sand, there are stones near the shore, so you have to constantly look under your feet. The water is clear and there are no big waves. Some algae near the shore but they are constantly removed. On the beach you can rent catamarans, kayaks, windsurfing. Or you can go diving. The hotel is active. Animation at a high professional level. Entertainment is varied. Every day and throughout the day new entertainment. Everyone will find something to their liking. Constant show programs, by the pool, in the evening in the lobby. Lots of entertainment for both adults and children. Tennis, football - all for free. Good gym, beach volleyball, soccer, archery, mini golf, tennis etc. All for free. The food is very good. You can eat almost around the clock. Good variety. Breakfast and lunch buffet. Dinner in different a la carte and only two of them by appointment. I advise you to go to El Dorado excellent medallions! Thai cuisine - very spicy (for an amateur); Japanese cuisine - cooked in front of you (spectacular show); Italian cuisine is delicious too. In general, each of the restaurants has its own zest. Drinks are both local and some imported. Excellent tequila. But the highlight of the holiday were excursions. Swimming with sharks is very exciting, and the pyramids of Chichen Itza + Cenote + Coba + Tulum. If you tell in detail, then it is very long) Everything was smartly taken from the reception. The number is ok too. Daily high-quality cleaning replenishment of the mini bar. We didn’t observe living creatures in the room, I don’t know how it is for those who live on the first floor, but we didn’t have it. Iron, ironing board, safe in general, everything you need. There is a coffee machine coffee set and even scales. The staff speaks English and Spanish. The staff is friendly and welcoming. In general, everything is perfectly done for an unforgettable vacation!

I liked the hotel fully meets its star rating. And so about everything in order. But before we knew about all the nuances of the hotel, and since we were satisfied with the price of the little things, we calmly closed our eyes. I liked the hotel fully meets its star rating. And so about everything in order. But before we knew about all the nuances of the hotel, and since we were satisfied with the price of the little things, we calmly closed our eyes. Check-in arrived or rather arrived at the hotel two hours earlier. I had to wait. They put on the bracelets right away, but there was nowhere to leave the luggage, well, it doesn’t matter, the drinks were refreshed and they sat waiting so as not to twitch. And that's where the cons ended) The hotel area is just huge, and it's not strange that it consists of five hotels. Only one of the hotels cannot be entered. The hotel is located in the jungle. Lots of birds and fish of all kinds. Raccoons, iguanas, noses. You can hand feed very cool. Right next to the lobby is a lake where flamingos live. And at the main restaurant behind the fence there is a couple of crocodiles. We had all the restaurants and bars of all four hotels at our disposal. The food is good here everything is fine. Lots of entertainment as well. You can play football or basketball there are fields. Tennis and mini golf. Good fitness center. Or you can just run a lot of places) Lots of entertainment on the water. Rode on catamarans and kayaks. Diving and snorkeling. There is a sports bar there billiards and table tennis. Live music and performances in the evenings. There are souvenir shops but they are very expensive. Five times more expensive than in the local town. And still bargain throw off three times. The spa is good but the cost is very high, but then someone like Mexico itself is not a cheap country. In general, Mexico is great. Accommodation was also arranged. The room is cozy and well cleaned. The mini bar is free, but somehow chaotically replenished, but after a small tip, everything worked out. And the minibar was almost never used. If you need alcohol, then the beach bar is open around the clock, but it was not planned to sit in the room. The hotel made only positive impressions!

We have long dreamed of flying to Mexico, and even more so in anticipation of the declared end of the Mayan calendar and, accordingly, the end of the world. Travel agency Southern Cross, air carrier Transaero. Travel time is almost 13 hours. I want to note right away that the only problem in this trip is the 9-hour time difference with Moscow, that is, if it is 12 noon in Mexico, 3 am in Moscow, adaptation took place, probably only on the fifth day.

Otherwise, a wonderful hotel, with a huge and very well-groomed territory, beautiful white beaches, very friendly and helpful staff, a large number of exotic animals on the territory. The food is excellent, both at the buffet and in numerous restaurants, a good selection of alcoholic drinks in the bars.
Were on an excursion to Chichen Itza - the ancient capital of the Maya, located 180 km from Cancun, by bus 3 hours, very interesting, but perhaps lucky with the guide.
As for staying at the hotel, it's pretty decent, not a luxury, of course, but everything you need is there, upon arrival they give a fruit basket.
In general, I recommend.

We traveled as a family with a 4 year old child from 12/18/11 to 01/01/12. There are enough reviews for this hotel, so I would like to note only a few nuances. Standard rooms, of course, are simple, but we did not expect anything else. Riviera, with decent rooms, was not chosen because of the distance from the beach.

An unpleasant surprise, especially for my husband, who is sensitive to vibration, was the constant noise in the room, probably caused by the ventilation system, and this was with the air conditioner turned off and the ice machine in the hall below was NOT working. Tried to change the number, but it turned out the same. If you get a room on the 1st floor next to such an ice-machine, then you are provided with a much greater constant hum. In general, a room on the 1st floor will also be unsuccessful because of insects. We lived on the 2nd floor, and then we were overcome by small ants, despite the fact that we did not leave anything edible in the room.
The territory of the hotel, of course, is large and green, but the entry into the sea is really disgusting. 2 pieces of beach more or less suitable for swimming. One opposite the Colonial - a little wider, but still not completely cleared of stones, the other - opposite Kantenach - better, but quite small, even considering that everyone bathes there, and it is cleared only to a depth somewhere under the chest. For me it was a big disappointment. Of course, I knew from the reviews that the beach is not very good, but what is it? ! In fact, in mid-November we tried to book any of the Iberostars in the Riviera Maya zone, for the week of Catholic Christmas they were all on the stop, so we had to take the Colonial, and they barely managed to take it until we received negative answers for Iberostars, because. hotel reservations take a very long time due to the fundamental time difference with Mexico and a large number of requests during this period. Book early if you can plan your vacation!
A red flag hung on the sea for almost the entire time of our stay, but even children calmly swam, the waves are not that big, despite the fact that there is really no depth to the buoys.
The food completely satisfied us. Christmas and New Year's dinners differed from regular dinners only with festive decorations, flowers for the ladies at the entrance and a little more seafood (shrimps and lobsters) and sweets (chocolate fountains with berries and marshmallows). We considered that it was not worth our money, additionally paid by us without fail. Of the a la carte restaurants were in the Brazilian, a steak house. In our opinion, the menu is not fundamentally different from the main restaurant, if you have free time, you can spend it on these restaurants (you will have to wait in line from 10 minutes to an hour). We, at the request of our daughter, had to attend the show from 20 to 22, so we did not have special time.
The shows are not bad, they take place directly in the Colonial, at 20 o’clock for children, at 21 for adults (then a show in the Riviera, but we never got to it). Next week - exactly the same. Children's animators work well, my daughter, not knowing either English or Spanish, participated in these shows. I was amazed at the ability of the animators in a short time to organize a crowd of children of different ages and speaking differently and show quite a decent show with their participation. In general, children are good here. An excellent playground with a trampoline, a mini club (however, it would be nice to know a foreign language).
There were quite a lot of Russian-speaking people in the hotel. Considering that foreigners mostly prefer to relax by the pool, on the beach in the area of the "cleaned piece" of Russians it was only one. With children, of course, few, and those with schoolchildren. At the airport we discussed with the Russians the topic where we liked it more in the Dominican Republic or in Mexico (and most of them, like us, have already visited both the Dominican Republic and Miami - as other options for a winter beach holiday). Somehow, no one singled out Mexico, although the travel agent said in Moscow that after Mexico no one wants to go to the Dominican Republic. And I, now, want to, and not just me. Although objectively, in which of these countries the travelers had the best company, the weather, they liked it more there.
In general, I was satisfied with the trip to Mexico, but nothing excited me (and in other reviews they often write simply about the delight of this country, of excursions), maybe they just “got drunk”.
From the excursions we went to Chichen Itza (the Transaero tour guide Alla is a professional, she told everything competently and interestingly), for some reason I was more impressed by diving into the Ik-Kil cenote (swimming in the cenote is an integral part of this excursion) for some reason.
To the Shkaret park - here I didn’t understand at all what they were enthusiastic about. There are very few animals in the park, the nature is ordinary, like in a hotel, the shows are interesting, but nothing more. Of course, you can visit, but don't expect much. Swimming with dolphins is, of course, impressive, but very expensive if the whole family. The cheapest tickets 99 dollars quickly run out in the morning, we had to buy at 149 dollars, this is at 13 o'clock, they also ended. There are no safes for storing things and issuing towels at Dolphinarium 2, towels are also not issued at the River, and things are picked up and transported to the end of the route. Take towels from the hotel or in advance at the entrance to the park, leave valuables there if necessary (for a fee). It’s extremely boring to swim along the River, there’s nothing interesting either around or under water, swim better on a boat, otherwise it will turn out like ours - just a test of one’s own strengths - I’ll swim, I won’t swim (we still swam the whole route with a child). As it turned out, you can swim up to Dolphinarium 2 from the side of the free beach and watch the dolphin show, however, through the bars. In general, after reading the reviews on Shkaret, I made a mistake. Many wrote that if you go in the morning, you will be very tired by the night show, and so you will have time to see everything if you arrive by 15 o’clock, when tickets are much cheaper. We arrived at 13 o'clock, and did not manage to do anything on the first day. The territory is quite large, if you swim with dolphins, along the river, walk everywhere, watch the show - you need the whole day, because at 16:30 everything starts to round off, and people pull up to take seats for the night show. My husband and daughter had to come back again. It's better to have a show schedule so you don't wander around like we did on the first day (we drove ourselves). As it turned out, children under 5 years old go for free, although the first time we were told that we had to pay, allegedly only those whose height is less than 1 meter go free.
We went to Cancun to see and shop. Do not count on shopping, there is nothing. After reading the reviews, I went to the recommended places, but only in one small shop in Plaza Kukulkan on the ground floor I found a place where branded clothes were sold at discount prices. In other places I didn’t see ANYTHING (although there were a lot of high-heeled model shoes, I didn’t look closely at them). Who and what buys in Cancun remains a mystery to me.

Rested from 11.10. 2011 to 21.11. 2011 Vacationing on the Riviera Maya. Hotel GRAND PALLADIUM COLONIAL RESORT & SPA. We flew through Moscow with the Aeroflot airline, in a nutshell about this airline, it is definitely better than Transaero both in terms of feeding and aircraft. Upon arrival (almost 14 hours of flight), we were met by the guide Zhanna Fitsay, briefly talked about Mexico and personally placed us in hotels, naturally leading us to buy excursions only from her along the way.

In Mexico, there are a lot of vacationers of our compatriots emigrants from Russia. The animation at the hotel is very good, varied, for 10 days nothing happened again, and at first we looked at our Colonies, then we went to the Riviera and watched another one, there, at the end, a disco began nearby. In the lobby in the evenings you can have a good time and there was always live music. The rooms are cozy and clean.
The rooms have a mini bar (free of charge) replenished every day, there are coffee machines and always good coffee, but there is no Russian TV channel. A lot of living creatures on the territory of the hotel, the child is delighted with them.
We went on two excursions to Chichen Itza and to the Dolphinarium.
I didn’t like Chichen Itza, firstly, they talked for 2 hours and you are there, in fact it turns out while you collect everyone, someone will definitely be late until you stop at a gift shop with unrealistic prices on the way (half an hour) and that 4 hours , secondly, the guide didn’t really get caught, she was confused about the dates, in the end the whole bus burned out over her, thirdly (and most importantly) the pyramids, the ruins are all good, but these are just continuous shopping arcades, every merchant considers it his duty to shout at you, run up to poke some souvenir in the face, shouting that only he has such low prices (bargain hard - they drop 2 or more times) and at the end of all this lunch is something with something, after the Colony there is something they give impossible, drinks only for money (all for three bucks) At the end of the tour, like a balm for the soul, this is the Synod. Beautiful and cool. Refreshing after a hot day.
An excursion to the dolphinarium is not forgotten, especially for a child.
50 minutes of swimming, beautiful tricks. For this money, you will not get so much communication with dolphins anywhere else. By the way, do not see our guides for divorce to buy this tour from them even with a discount of $ 40 per person. A Russian guide is not provided and it is still much cheaper to buy a ticket on the spot. You can get there by minibus in a straight line, stopping near the hotel, 3 bucks per person or by taxi for 20 bucks to bargain. Moreover, if you still decide to throw away the money and buy from the guide, be careful, the discount is provided, after a few days, only when returning the ticket from the dolphinarium to the guide. (Zhanna hushed up this information with us and, as we understand it, our discount went into her pocket. Moreover, no one explained the connection between the discounts and the ticket to us. However, I expected something similar from the Pegasus guides. )
The hotel has a buffet restaurant and a la cart restaurants. The food in the hotel is very good, even excellent.
The GRAND PALLADIUM complex consists of several hotels, you can eat and walk around all, all a la cart restaurants can be visited without an appointment, except for Rybny (record at the reception).
Feeding children is not a problem, a rich buffet allows you to do this.
On the beach, I did not like the entrance to the water, you can beat your fingers on the stones. There are a lot of sun loungers, so there is no need to take them in advance, just be sure to take sunscreen, you can burn out instantly, creams are very expensive at the hotel.
Internet is free in the lobby and in the buffet restaurant, but in the room for money.
Holidays in MEXICO left mixed feelings, as we were told that people who had been to the Maldives, Dominican Republic, Thailand, who came to Mexico, said that now we are only here. Therefore, they expected a lot from Mexico, but no, nothing like that. Everything is fine, beautiful, but those who have been to the Caribbean in good hotels will not see revelations there.
But the flight at 14 hours with a difference of 10 hours with heavy acclimatization makes you think "Will I go here again"

The money spent on the trip is not a pity! It's worth it, the hotel is chic with a huge territory, a lot of living creatures, good rooms, cleaning, food, a huge selection of restaurants. I advise you to go to the Brazilian, very tasty! Spa is expensive! You can play tennis, football, golf, everything is free, the Internet catches in the lobby, you can use Skype, the main thing is to be in time for live music.

The hotel is in a very convenient location and is located not far from the city of Playa del Carmen, the city is small but worth a look, go to a restaurant on 5th Avenue and try seafood, very tasty. For excursions, I recommend flying to Mexico City (Teotihuacan), though the tour is not cheap, almost $ 600 with a flight, etc. , but it's worth it. The hotel itself is located near Koba, Shkaret, Tulum and Chichen Itza, excursions cost from $ 100, but you can take the bus yourself (local, it’s good, but the air conditioners work very hard, you need to take a sweater or a blanket with you, the locals just go like this. We flew from the Southern Cross, everything was great, except for the guide Alla, very intrusive and a little annoying!! ! If there is an opportunity, I will fly there again but I will watch Mexico City Taxco, etc. A chic country with a great culture.

The flight took 13 hours there and 11 hours back, but it was worth it! At the airport met the guide Alla. It takes a long time to get a bus with tourists, it could be faster! While you are on the bus, the guide tells you a little about the resort, the country and the main features and places worth visiting, so the travel time (more than 2 hours to the hotel) flies by! The hotel is wonderful, they were already waiting for us, they quickly gave us the keys to the rooms, a memo and took us to the room with our luggage! Vacation was off season.

(in October, Americans do not seem to like to relax, which cannot but please the Russians, and sometimes it rains and is cloudy). But we were lucky - the weather was gorgeous, the sea too! It is very humid along the coast, clothes dry exclusively in the sun. The food was delicious (for 14 days, of course, I got bored, and I wanted borscht and potatoes with mushrooms). But it was very helpful that in the Paladdium hotel chain, in which there were 4 hotels, you could move around and go to any restaurants (both general meals and a la carte) freely. Since it is not the season, there were no queues for a la carte, especially if you come right to the opening! In these restaurants, the food is very tasty and the staff is attentive, smiling, and in some of them even curious - they want to learn Russian! There are many jaguanas, raccoons, kuati on the territory. There are also all sorts of animals and birds, but they are not so often seen! Raccoons and kuati are food lovers. Kuati had the same all inclusive as the people. During breakfast-lunch-dinner hours, they just gathered around the restaurant and begged for food! You can feed them, but stroking and putting your fingers in your mouth is not recommended - a lot of infection. The rooms are also good (for those who like to smoke in the room, you must ask the reception in advance to give a room with the ability to smoke). Cleaned every day - to the conscience!
At the expense of excursions, Chichen Itza, Coba, the Island of Women and Mexico City must be taken through a guide. But for all other excursions that the guide offers (shkaret park, extreme entertainment park explorer, tulum, and a bunch of other excursions) it’s better to organize it yourself, it’s exactly 2 times cheaper, and even more convenient! Excursions cost from 70 to almost infinity. It is especially worth visiting Mexico City - there is something to see, the flight takes 2 hours. A lot of beauty and history, especially if you get a wonderful guide. It is better if you have the opportunity to take an excursion to Mexico City for at least 2 days - 1 day is very exhausting, but you want to see a lot, all the more there is something to see and where to climb (Teoteokan - the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon). We flew away satisfied and happy, tanned, full and rested! And I really wanted to return to this wonderful country and to the resort many, many more times!
