- Pretty tired rooms and main areas of the hotel. The hotel is from 1972 and you can feel it despite the renovations in 2005 and 2019.
We had a honeymoon on Bandos, and after this vacation, I am sure that we could not have dreamed of a better honeymoon : )
Do not hesitate, fly!
Despite the weather, sometimes it was possible to sunbathe, you can always swim in general, even in the rain. The pools are good. Especially for children, with a large fountain ball in the center. Towels are given here or you can take green ones in the room. there were enough places, because there were few people.
In general, from the public - mostly Chinese-Japanese (wonderful-s-s) or veiled women with children or husbands.
The Maldivians themselves are a copy of the Muscovites: they don’t smile, they do everything through force - it’s hard for them, you know, to work in principle. Then these tourists come in large numbers, serve them, you understand.
We came here directly from Sri Lanka. The monstrous difference with smiling (really, from the heart) and efficient Sri Lankans at first plunged me into a small stop, but then I relaxed and stopped paying attention to them.
On the territory there is a diving club, bars, a children's club. Foreign mothers left children for a long time, even babies. But the club is not bad.
Nobody diligently engaged in sports from tourists, although there are many things for this business.
Well, how can you sit in the sports center if there is this amazing white sand and an empty beach right at the exit from the room? ! You just take a mug of coffee, you leave your house, and after 3 steps - sun loungers, sand, sea...
Personally, I, a mother with two small children and a grandmother, was not bored. My husband got bored at the end, but I think he missed diving. There is entertainment. Crab races for children are very cool, you can experience adrenaline. also fun - the choice of songs for Russians - both adults and children - is huge. My daughter was heard all over the island.
The food is normal. You have to buy water in the restaurant. Therefore, when they bring you here on a boat and offer you bottled water, take more. They also provide water in the rooms.
The souvenir shop pleases with its variety of goods and indecently high prices for them. But, if you really want something, you can take something with you as a keepsake. Painted coconuts and artists sitting right in the store who paint you or your child with such masterpieces are impressive, right sorry to wash afterwards.
Finally, I’ll write about the main problem of rest on the island - MOSQUITOES!!!!! ! For 5 days they ate me up. Small, nasty, nasty. You can’t hear them at night. feet, hands. Smudges don’t save them. They don’t give out all kinds of fumitoxes at night. But they fly, apparently from the bathroom, where there is no glass in the windows. It was not always possible to close the doors.
Ask questions, do not be shy. Anna.
Now more details. We were at the end of April until the beginning of May. Travel agency Transaerotours, flew respectively by a transaero flight, the delay at departure was about 40 minutes, and when they returned about an hour (excellent for a charter). The flight was normal (about 9 hours), the food was tolerable, practically did not shake, rating 4+. Transfer: upon arrival, they met the luggage to the boat, on departure, they also met at the boat, they showed the check-in counters, they brought the luggage to them.
Customs: alcohol is taken away (I don’t know how it was for you, but for me it was a matter of principle to bring something) back in Moscow I bought a small bottle of Pepsi, made a hole in the bottom, poured Pepsi, heated the lid in boiling water and carefully removed it so that the tear-off ring was not damaged (not for everyone bottles, this method is suitable, it is more reliable to cut the neck of the bottle with the help of wire cutters), I bought a two-liter Pepsi, poured a liter from it and poured whiskey there, closed it with a previously removed cap with a ring. The bottle was like from a store, I threw it into my luggage and, to distract attention, a couple of plastic bottles of drinking water. Everything went off with a bang, even the luggage did not open at customs. I think a more reliable option with juice packaging, but it would take more time.
The hotel itself is a fabulously green place, from edible bananas, mangoes, sea coconuts and some other water rose, if I understand correctly, it is quite edible and coconut palms are everywhere, sometimes I recommend looking up in a strong wind.
The service is excellent, they never burst into the room in the morning and do not wake up with their cleaning, they tactfully wait not far. a bunch of different towels for all occasions are changed once a day, the bed is made twice. Restaurants are friendly and welcoming.
By the way, if you dine at your own expense, excellent cuisine! Some of the same dishes were eaten in a common restaurant and a separate one - there is a difference. Dinner for two averages $40-60.
The food in common restaurants is not to say that there is a great variety (we probably snickered), but you won’t leave hungry.
For some reason, we were not settled in a standart room, but a Deluxe room, it is much larger than the standard one, the only minus is the music thumps slightly in the evening, it didn’t bother me, but my girlfriend didn’t really like it.
A big plus is the tea facilities in the rooms, it is sometimes very nice to drink tea or coffee without running to restaurants, but sitting on your terrace. Safe in the room is free of charge.
Animals: parrots, bats or foxes, but I didn’t understand large ones, lizards, herons, and small birds. From fish sharks, stingrays, moray eels and other fish of all stripes and colors, they can be seen with an ordinary mask and snorkel, for turtles you have to scuba dive. Well, crabs.
There were almost no Russians before May. On May holidays, about 15-20% of tourists were Russians.
Okay, I would like to write a lot more, but .....bottom line: the hotel and the rest are just great, you won’t regret a trip.
